Will always say that Space Age Bachelor Man is not only a good song but a very good way to point out how Ocean's infantalisation of Ricky is not only wrong on just a general level (like it being very blatantly ableist) but also on a personal level.

The song is the horniest fucking fever dream (which I would support regardless because it's a banger) but also I feel like it does a really good job at looking at the infantalisation he experiences because of his disability (even in the newer version where he's mute from trauma) because of that.

there is a facebook group for people to ask for help when in need and I swear there are people who join this group for no other reason than to be cruel to those asking for help. a mother posted a pic of her empty fridge full of nothing but cheese and milk - if you've been there done that then you know ohhh she probably has wic, but all the comments were legitimately hateful about it. asking why, how could she afford the milk, what's the point of getting milk and not food? she explained what wic is, very specific vouchers for very specific types of food for children under age five, if you didn't know, and some random guy said "so you're already getting free money" and another guy implied she should be kicked from the group for accidentally breaking the rules. like they're literally just setting out to harass poor people who have the audacity to ask for help. it's bad. it's gross. and I gotta blog about it to make myself less mad
