Ricki smiled and returned the hello's and agreed to go down to the water with her. She felt a relief, just hanging out with a friend without stress of looking perfect or holding back her tongue (not that she usually could anyway. She grinned at Camryn's challenge, "You're so on!". As the petite blonde sped off in front of her while Ricki was running as fast as she could and as her lungs already began to burn, she suddenly remembered how long it had been since she had been in high school cross country and track. Senior year she had decided to quit and she regretted it more than ever now.
Camryn stopped suddenly and laid her hands on her knees, bent over obviously trying to catch a breather. She figured that it was her time to catch up and high-tailed it, ignoring the burning sensation sitting inside her chest. Just was almost passed her, Camryn began tearing off her clothes and sprinted into the water. Ricki finally accepted defeat just before she reached the tide, pulling off her shirt and shorts, throwing them in the pile her good friend had made. She didn't really think about how cold the water could be at night until she was waist-deep and her mouth went agape as the water surrounded her, "AHHHHHH!" she said, through gritted teeth. "This is FREEZING!", laughing at her friend who seemed to have adjusted fairly quickly.
Summer Nights || Camryn & Ricki
Camryn felt an arm around her and turned around, seeing Ricki. “Hello girl!”, the blonde said, pulling her friend into a big hug. The girls stayed in it for about a minute before Camryn finally let go. “So are you ready to hit the beach, in the middle of the night with your crazy friend?”, the blonde asked, smiling. The girls started to slowly walk down the beach, arm in arm, towards the shore. Suddenly Camryn let go of Ricki’s arm and started sprinting down. “The last one to be in the water is a loser”, she called out, running faster than ever.
A minute later she eventually reached the shore. Turning back as she tried to catch a breath, she saw her friend catching up. The blonde quickly jumped out of her sweatpants and threw her t-shirt off, leaving only her bikini on. Now that she didn’t have any warm clothes on, the cold ocean breeze hit her bare skin and she started shaking. Before she started off into the water, she took a glance back, now seeing her friend also throw off her clothes and run after her. She laughed and started running into the water.

Ricki beamed, "What? They always end up telling me about their wives, their kids, especially if their older. Or they're just totally revolting and give in detail descriptions about their genital warts or prostitutes." she finished, with a shudder. She couldn't help but have a flashback of that night, she practically jumped out of that taxi. She giggled at him deciding to sit so close to him. She always hated dates sitting in the backseat, a small seat between them and that awkward silence. It reminded her of middle school dates. She peeked at the rear-view mirror and caught a glimpse at the plump, large-mustached, middle aged man at the steering wheel. He caught her glance and he smiled with a nod and she returned the gesture. She grinned at Miles' comment and snaked her one arm around him and used the other to squeeze him as tight as possible, sticking her head into his neck. "I sure can." she said with a giggle.
Ricki & Miles || The only one.
"You’re hilarious" he laughed, he’d never met anyone who admitted to loving cab drivers, although she had a point. They did always seem to have an interesting past. As Miles noticed a cab approach from a distance he held out his arm, hailing it over. It reminded him of when he was a little boy travelling with his parents, he’d stand on the sidewalk and yell ‘TAXI’ at the top of his lungs. Sometimes they weren’t even in need of a cab. Turning back to Ricki he answered her question “It’s colder then I thought, I’ll admit, but I’m tough" he smiled and noted her outfit, she looked considerably warm so he didn’t think it was necessary to ask if she wanted to go and grab something else.
Holding the taxi door open for Ricki to enter first Miles followed behind her and told the taxi driver their location. Judging by the look of him he wasn’t going to let Ricki down on her quest for an interesting story. While there was plenty of room in the backseat Miles chose to sit right beside Ricki “You can keep me warm" he grinned and raised his eyebrows, placing his hand on her thigh as he laughed lightly.

Dear you,
I'm not so sure how to start this.
You make me so frustrated. I'm not angry, I'm more hurt than anything. I feel like I'm not good enough for you, like no matter what I could do it could never please you as well as I wish it would. Like your smile isn't as genuine with me as I wish it could be. I don't know how to assess the rest of the summer with you. You can be so cruel, callous and I know you don't mean to be, but am I supposed to not feel it? Like it's not there? I wonder if you ever thought about me the way I thought about you. People were right at first but now they're all wrong. People make strange assumptions about me, some mean, and I can't help but wonder if you do too. I don't want to feel like this anymore.
With all my love and pure frustration, Ricki Marshall

Ricki couldn't help but blush at his comment, letting out that typical girly giggle. She looked down at his shoes, not wanting her flushed cheeks show. "Thank you, you..... look beautiful too," she with a laugh, her eyes finally meeting his. When their fingers intertwined she made sure to note the feeling it gave her, it was a good one. "YES! I love cab drivers, they always tell me funny stories." she said. She chuckled at his chill, "Are you cold? Do you want to go inside and get a jacket really quick?" she asked him.
Ricki & Miles || The only one.
Miles smiled as he spotted Ricki walking down the staircase, his nerves increased rapidly. He felt a tingling sensation shoot down his spine as he stepped away from the wall. As she walked up to him he pulled her into his arms and rested his chin on her head “Hello” he replied, in his usual goofy tone. Miles wasn’t 100% sure whether he was completely over Anna, that was until he saw Ricki. His reaction, the butterflies in his stomach, the goosebumps on his skin.. his nerves made it abundantly clear how much he liked her, possibly more than any other girl he’d ever had feelings for. Letting go of their embrace Miles looked down at the ground, trying to shake his nerves.
Taking a deep breath he looked into Ricki’s eyes, “You look.. beautiful tonight” he smiled, holding out his hand for her to take. Opening the front door Miles led the way outside. “I was thinking we’d just take a cab?” he asked as they reached the sidewalk. The breeze was stronger tonight then it had been any other day, the wind blew his hair back and he shivered slightly.

Ricki had just finished all of her final touches, besides putting on an outfit, when she checked the time on her iPhone. The clock read 6:40 and she realized she only had 20 minutes to get downstairs. Considering that she hadn't even thought of what to wear, she began to panic and ran to her closet. She didn't want to over-do it but she wanted to look like she actually put some thought into what she was wearing so she decided on a floral print sundress that almost hit her knees and a pair of beachy wedges. After changing she sighed looking in the mirror, figuring that this was the best she was going to get with only 5 minutes before she'd be late. She finished with a quick spray of hair spray, grabbed her purse after throwing her phone inside, and began to jog down stairs to the front door.
During the long trek, she noticed how nervous she was becoming. Of course she had been a little anxious all day but now the butterflies were kicking in and she felt a headache. She was never good with nerves, she hated being nervous and she rarely ever did anything that she thought would make her feel this way. She normally wouldn't agree to go out with someone who seemed so attached to someone else but he insisted that there was nothing there, that it was only her, and she decided to follow the heart and trust him. He wasn't just handsome, he was hilarious, goofy, and wasn't afraid to laugh at himself. He was also charming as hell and she was sure that he knew that she was a sucker for those things.
When she reached the bottom of the stairs she tried to not look him up and down, knowing it would only make her nerves worse. She trotted up to him, wrapping her arms tightly around his waist. "Hi." she said, into his chest.
Ricki & Miles || The only one.
Miles stood in front of his closet, staring at his clothes as he tried to figure out what he was going to wear. Pulling out a few items he shook his head until he came across his light blue long-sleeve shirt. Doing up the buttons Miles then put on his jeans and his new nikes. Topping off his attire with his favourite ‘lucky’ beanie he checked that he looked at least half decent in the mirror before walking out of his bedroom. Descending down the stairs he ensured the gel in his hair was in place before waiting at the front door for Ricki.
Checking his watch Miles realised he was ten minutes early. Leaning against the wall he thought about the girl he’d be spending the night with. Ricki was beautiful, and she had this way of making him laugh like no one else. Miles straightened his collar, he hated waiting, it made him nervous. Miles just hoped this date didn’t end as badly as his last.

You are SUCH a little sweet talker.
Everyone seems to be getting sick around here! You could've told me, I would've came in a haz-mat suit and hand fed you chicken noodle.
What time should I meet you downstairs?
I just have to look at you and I feel better.
I would never forget about you, I was sick the other night. Wouldn’t want you to catch the flu as well.

That's exactly how I felt when I rewatched "It" at like, 16. It was awful. It was about an alien-spider-thing that took form as a clown and kept children in a little cave. But if I think about it, clowns still scare me because of it. Sometimes his voice still gets to me. I don't know, I think I had pretty good reason.
I don't really know, actually! It seems like I just kind of walked in and without a word everyone started disliking me, almost? I'm not sure. I don't really care when it really comes down to it because only one person has said anything and it didn't end well. I'm just letting it roll off my back for now.
The Boogieman. I’ll never forget. I’m sure if I watched it now I’d be like “This is not scary at all.” But keep in mind that I was about 7 at the time, and it was scarring.
Aww, what’s been going on? I mean it’ll be rough sometimes, what do you expect with a house full of hormonal teens.

Same, I watched "It" with my older cousins and had nightmares for 2 years but now I love it. Do you remember what movie it was?
Eh, I can't complain. And only a little! I mean, it's just been a bad few weeks. I'm usually pretty positive but it's been hard to catch a break lately.
One of my first traumatic childhood memories was the result of a scary movie.
Oh you know, I’ve been alright. How about you? You’ve been kind of down the past few days.
