Paterson Chiropractor Shares Video On What To Expect On Your First Chiropractic Adjustment

Don’t Make Your First Time Experience Nerve Wracking: Paterson Chiropractor Is Here to Help
If you’ve never tried Paterson Chiropractic Care before, you’re probably anxious about how it’s going to feel. Would it be uncomfortable? Painful? Or excruciating? These are some of the most common concerns a lot of people have because they associate a spinal adjustment with traditional techniques that involves ‘cracking’ up the joints. Although we utilize old-fashioned techniques, this is completely optional and according to the preference of the patient. We’re proud to say that we have pain-free techniques that would improve your spinal health and reduce nervous system interference.
Watch Dr. Echols, a Chiropractor at Austin Chiropractic Care in Austin, Texas, demonstrate and discuss why people are afraid of chiropractic. Dr. Echols also gives a person their first neck and back adjustment. This is a neck and back adjustment demonstration. Chiropractic adjustments for the back and neck correct problems with back pain, tight muscles, subluxations and misalignments.
youtube
So as for the aftercare, if you’re worried that it’s going to be painful, what we can tell you is that, the healing process varies from one person to another. That means there’s no foolproof way to know how you’re going to feel and respond to the treatment. However, we can guarantee that we’ll do everything to ensure that you stay comfortable all throughout the treatment. The healing effects you’re going to experience after would also make you feel that you made the right choice.
Your initial visit would be for a consultation. You’ll be asked about your medical history, current condition, injuries you’ve had in the past– this can be caused by vehicular accidents, sports, and other physically traumatic events that can all cause you to experience discomfort or pain. After that, you’ll go through a thorough examination and x-rays, if necessary, to determine what would be the best treatment or technique for you. On your second visit, your chiropractor would explain what’s going on in your body, and the recommended treatment. Then, you’ll receive your first adjustment after this.
We always suggest to our patients that they do some research first, and try to familiarize themselves with the most common chiropractic care and what to expect. There are a lot of causes behind the misplaced and misaligned spine– these can be stuck joints better known as subluxations that usually happen due to improper movement of spinal bones. If left untreated, it would definitely interfere with how the nerves send signals between the brain and body. This could also affect nearby nerves and cause other problems to your health. It could lead to back pain, neck pain, headache, and in some cases, stomach problems. Fortunately, with a chiropractic adjustment, it would improve motion and reduce the negative impact to the nervous system. As you understand how the adjustment works, you’ll be able to appreciate your chiropractic treatment even more.
Instant Improvement
The reason chiropractic care is getting more and more popular is because those who have tried it feel instant results right after their first adjustment. Usually, those who experience this have spent years in misalignment and so, once their spine gets properly aligned, they experience instant relief. Though, just like what has been mentioned earlier, the response varies, but one thing is for sure, you’ll feel invigorated, full of energy, and relaxed. After a long time, you’ll finally want to go to sleep.
However, for you to be able to enjoy long lasting results, it’s important to go back for several treatments. This would fully restore the alignment of your spine and ensure that you wouldn’t experience much pain anymore.
Slight Discomfort
There are situations where you’ll feel slight discomfort after treatment. The possible reason for this is that, your body has gotten used to the incorrect postures, and as it becomes properly aligned, it would give you an unusual feeling. Don’t worry, this would only last for a couple of days as your body would also adjust with your new posture during the recover period. Furthermore, another side effect would be retracing, but this is rarely a problem. This shouldn’t be taken negatively either, as it’s an indication that your body is undergoing deep healing. It usually happens a few hours after treatment, but doesn’t last for more than 24 hours.
Internal Changes
Some patients are lucky enough that they don’t even feel any changes after their first adjustment. This doesn’t mean that the treatment plan did not work, and you should just wait for a couple of days to notice the real outward effect. Also, do note that even though some patients feel changes after one treatment, not all have the same experience. That’s why it’s important to look for a reliable chiropractor in Paterson, NJ like Dr. Ricardo Lalama, D.C., who would guide you all throughout the process. Also, don’t be afraid to ask questions to your chiropractor, it’s one of the ways for you to get the best care possible.

Also, check how you relate to the chiropractor and if you are comfortable in his/her presence, consider aspects like honesty, professionalism and relations with other staff members.
The chiropractor should explain the whole process to your full comprehension.

8 Powerful Ergonomic Tips For Your Office Work Station
Originally posted on https://drricardolalama.com/8-powerful-ergonomic-tips-for-your-office-work-station/
Last year studies regarding unhealthy practices at the work place singled out sitting too much as a growing concern for most U.S citizens. Most with desk jobs put themselves at risk of serious health complications at their work stations without even realizing it at all. If you are one of the many whose job requires you to sit all day, then it is in your best interest to figure out a way to incorporate standing and stretching exercises into your work routine. Another important preventative measure is to keep yourself informed about the dos and don’ts regarding sitting practices in order to safeguard the health of your spine. Here are 8 tips to help you figure out if you are on the right track:
1. Improve your sitting posture.
You need to first and foremost familiarize yourself with what good posture looks like. Then you will need to be able to check yourself to see how close you are to the expected standard. In case you come short, make the necessary adjustments. Try to be seated as adjacent as possible to your work table maintaining your arms parallel or analogous to your spine as your hands rest on the desk. You should be aiming to keep your elbows at a 90-degree angle, the same holds true for your knees. This can be achieved by lowering or raising your office chair height. In case you notice that you are beginning to slack then it’s simply your body telling you to take a break. This is the ideal time to stand up and do some stretching exercises or even take a short stroll.
2. Avoid sitting too high.
You should try to avoid sitting in a chair that is too high as this significantly increases the odds for ankle swelling among other repercussions. An average person’s ankles swell by 6 to 8 % at the day’s culmination, with swelling as high as 15 percent experienced in people with a history of circulation, leg and back related problems. Ideally a chair height ranging between 16 to 21 inches from the ground level should be sufficient for most. An easy way of testing if you have the right height is to slide your fingers underneath your thighs around the chair’s front end. If you are at the correct height this will be easy to do. However if you are set too high then you will notice that there is less than a fingers width of space between the seat and your thighs.
3. Boost your feet to fit the occasion.
In unique situations where say your desk happens to be too high meaning there is no comfortable setting on your chair that will work, you could always try a foot stool where you can rest your feet rather than leave them hanging. This can go a long way in decreasing foot related pain thanks to the reduced pressure on your feet. For those that are too tall that they find themselves bumping into the bottom side of their work station when they raise their chair, then a quick solution is to raise the height of your work station. You can use wooden blocks of similar height or any other preferred material as packing. Just be sure that your desk is stable enough first to survive the odd bumps here and there before starting to use it.
4. Ample seat depth.
This refers to the length running from the front edge of your seat to the back edge of your seat. Very few people think to check on this but it is essential to stress that this could make a huge difference to your back pain problems. It is easy to check for correct seat depth. First sit in your chair all the way before checking for space between your calves and front edge of the seat by making at fist and bringing it to the front edge of the chair and pushing it on the calf. If you can fit it in between then that means you have just enough room for circulation in your feet otherwise the chair is way too deep. You can tackle this problem by either inserting a cushion, pillow or rolled up towel to support your lower back or if the chair allows, you can move the chair’s backrest forward. A long lasting more comfortable solution is to get a replacement chair.
5. Support your back.
The main focus of a well-designed ergonomic chair is back support. It should be able to provide back support angling just past 90 degrees or at least up to 90 degrees with cushioning placed in a way that your back is always pushed forward when sitting back in the chair. This will provide the body with the necessary back support to prevent hunching. It should also provide ample backrest space which is why most are basically 12 to 19 inches wide.
6. Actively practice good posture.
Good posture requires a conscious effort from the user in order to instill it as a habit. At various work places you will find workers that have great ergonomic chairs but do not bother to take advantage of all its design features by following unhealthy practices such as sitting only on the chair’s edge. Effort should be made at all times to press your bottom against the back of the chair. Slouching should be avoided at all costs as this places extra stress on structures making up the lower back such as the lumbar discs. Adjust the height of your computer screen. If your job involves you sitting at your work station all day, then its likely that you use a computer as well. Once you have adjusted your chair and table to the point that your back is well supported and your legs are comfortable, close your eyes and inhale deeply. With your eyes still closed, calmly look forward before finally opening your eyes. Where you end up gazing is where the center of your computer screen should be. Adjust the screen so that its center line is level with your gaze. For laptop users you can consider raising it with the help of a stack of books or even a small box. This will work to reduce neck strain related problems.
7. Adjust your armrest accordingly.
Armrests are also very well thought out components of an ergonomically designed chair as they mainly reduce neck pain and shoulder strain. They also to a large extent diminish the likelihood of you drooping forward in your chair. If needed, adjust the armrest so that it just about supports the elbow at the point where your arms are a touch lifted at the shoulders with the armrests serving to take the burden off the shoulders.
8. Invest in a new and ergonomically correct office chair. After making all these vital adjustments you may eventually feel its best you invest in a new office chair better suited to the task. Before making a down payment on a suitable replacement be sure to take into account important seat factors such as: materials, lumbar support, swivel, depth, height, width and armrests.

Can Watermelon Juice Prevent And Relieve Muscle Soreness
Originally posted on https://drricardolalama.com/can-watermelon-juice-prevent-and-relieve-muscle-soreness/ If your bodybuilding workouts are leaving your muscles sore and tender, then you might be very happy to hear that the secret of overcoming this problem, which faced majorly by many athletes, can be dealt with a glass of natural watermelon juice. Watermelon, according to a recent study published in the Journal of Agriculture and Food Chemistry, can lessen sore and tender muscles after a workout.
The results which were recently published in the journal revealed that the fruit is full of certain substances, including antioxidants, which boost muscle protein and help bodybuilders and athletes feel and perform better after a long training session. These antioxidants, together with the L-citrulline amino acid, also help relieve muscle aches naturally, and the result is reduced discomfort after a workout.
The study, whose main aim was to find out whether natural watermelon juice enriched with L-citrulline, has more benefits than the natural juice or the control beverage, was conducted by researchers from the Universidad Politecnica de Cartagena, a Spanish university. The test featured a group of healthy volunteers divided into three groups. The first group drank water watermelon juice, the second group drank watermelon juice enriched with L-citrulline and the third the control beverage without L-citrulline. The volunteers, regardless of their groups, drank the juice one hour prior to exercises and were tested for heart rate and muscle soreness 24 hours later after exercising.
The results showed that the natural watermelon and enriched L-citrulline watermelon juice groups, experienced lower muscle pain and soreness after their workouts that the control beverage group, who had no amino acid in their drinks. The researchers also revealed surprising results that the watermelon juice, which was not enriched with L-citrulline, was the most effective of the three. This is because the juice from watermelon contains the ideal balance of amino acid that boosts muscle protein and reduces post-workout soreness to a great degree. Bodybuilders and athletes can therefore, easily control muscle pain and soreness by simply eating the watermelon or drinking its juice an hour before heading to the gym rather than investing in other products.
Researchers have proven the ability of watermelon juice to prevent and relieve muscle soreness. Past studies have also shown that massage can also help the regrowth of body cells and aid muscle recovery after workouts. On the other hand, medications developed for pain relief have been found to prolong pain because they subdue the body’s response to inflammation. Past studies have shown that painkillers meant to reduce inflammation after long hours of exercise actually lead to longer periods of soreness in the muscles.
Watermelon is a great source of citrulline. This amino acid is converted into arginine by the kidney, helping improve cardiovascular health and perks up the flow of blood. This process also cuts the buildup of fatty cells, which is caused by enzyme activity called TNAP, tissue nonspecific alkaline phosphatase. If you are therefore looking for a better recovery after your daily workouts, then you may find an excellent relief with massage therapy, improved nutrition with watermelon and with chiropractic care.

Stretching Gives Instant Relief For Back Pain
Originally posted on https://drricardolalama.com/stretching-gives-instant-relief-for-back-pain/
In today’s busy, stressful world many people suffer from all sorts of body aches and pains. These conditions might be related to hard physical work, being overweight, or simply using poor posture, but the number of Americans suffering from back pain is at a record high number so let’s take a look at one simple method you can use in the comfort of home or at the office to help relieve that aching back.
I know what many of you are thinking—I am so busy now where in the world am I supposed to find time for exercise? The good news is stretching the muscle groups of your back is not a two hour workout at the gym. Five to twenty minutes per day is plenty of time to devote to conditioning these muscle groups and lessening the pain. This small investment of time is worth that isn’t it? The benefits received go much further than a pain free back. You are going to feel better in all areas of the body because the spine and back is the “core” of supporting all other parts of our bodies. When the back pain decreases and then eventually leaves completely your entire physical condition takes a dramatic turn for the better. Now you are going to be more productive at home and work and life will be enjoyable again instead of suffering through constant pain.
Begin your stretching of the back muscles slowly. If 3 to 5 minutes is all you can do initially this is fine. Over the ensuing weeks this time period will increase naturally as the spine and back muscles become conditioned to the stretching and they will actually crave more of the same.
Our initial stretching is supposed to go slowly with no pain to your back ligaments and tendons. Try doing a few simple bends of the back forward with your arms reaching towards the floor. Use a wide stance of the feet for balance. DO NOT go further than is comfortable as this can result in a more serious condition such as a torn or strained muscle.
Slowly do a few side to side rotations, and lean backward as far as is comfortable a few times. Remember, we are using muscles that are out of shape and it is going to take time to condition them so go slowly.
As the days pass you will begin to notice less back pain and an increase in your flexibility and endurance. We strongly recommend visiting a good chiropractor before beginning any stretching plan so they can locate exactly where the pain originates and recommend the best exercises to concentrate on.

Weariness can influence each part of your life: your family, companions, employment and physical exercises will be affected. Here you will learn the 8 top causes for fatigue as well as advice on the most proficient method to overcome it:
1.Food Imbalances
The food we eat should be composed of fats, proteins and carbs. Your body runs on these three macronutrients, and we require fitting degrees of every one to suit your eating regimen and lifestyle.
A standout amongst the most well-known macronutrient inadequacies in the West is low fat utilization. Since the recent some piece of the twentieth century, fat has been removed of the standard American eating regimen and that caloric setback has been supplanted with refined carbs, particularly grains. When you’re in sugar-blazing mode, you get the certain sugar accident, abandoning you with temperament swings, touchiness, weight reduction safety, and weariness.
When I allude to fat, I’m not discussing margarine or some other sort of awful fat. Coconut oil, avocados, eggs, and, in the event that you consume meat, grass-sustained hamburger and wild-got salmon, are all extraordinary types of entire nourishment fat for your vitality! From a biochemical point of view, your body’s best and slowest-blazing manifestation of vitality is fat. Besides, your cerebrum is made of 60% fat and 25% cholesterol, so sustaining that valuable organ is the foundation to overcoming exhaustion. Albeit more uncommon, lacking measures of protein and starches will likewise help low vitality levels.
2. Food Deficiencies
Our bodies are alive and working in light of organic chemistry. When we don’t sustain them with the particular nutritious necessities that make health conceivable, it can begin with you feeling tired and lazy. Some supplement lacks in people that are exhausted are iron, vitamin D and vitamin B insufficiencies. Every one of these supplements could be checked by a basic blood lab and ought to be considered when you are battling with low vitality.

The sustenances we consume are progressively training our natural chemistry and our vitality levels. Our dinners are either helping or harming your vitality levels; there’s no impartial nourishment with regards to your body’s capacity. It’s a dependable fact that refined nourishments, abundance carbs and vacant calories will contrarily influence your wellbeing, and that will normally start by destroying your vitality levels. The scandalous “sugar trance state” must be ceased on the off chance that you quit consuming what is powering your low vitality!
Underlying prejudice to nourishments like gluten, without gluten grains and dairy can additionally cause weakness. In case you’re experiencing weariness, begin by disposing of the provocative nourishments in your eating regimen and attempt kick beginning it off with my genuine sustenance challenge here.
4. Poor Gut Health
Known as the “second mind,” your gastrointestinal framework is fundamental and regularly a disregarded variable in your vitality levels. You don’t essentially need to have observable gut indications to have an underlying unending gut issue. Your gut-cerebrum pivot is a complex web of correspondence between these two fundamentally critical frameworks regarding the matter of your vitality levels.
On the off chance that your body is stalled with conditions like permeability of the gut lining (leaky gut syndrome), small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) or simply summed up irregular characteristics in your gut microscopic organisms (dysbiosis), it can empty your vitality fundamentally. At the point when these conditions are determined, vitality levels and imperativeness are restored again to ordinary. Interestingly enough, chronic gut dysfunctions are additionally interfaced to weariness’ tenacious accomplice, weight reduction resistance.
5. Hormonal Dysfunctions
Our body’s diverse frameworks convey through a shrewd web of hormonal pathways. An appropriately working endocrine (hormonal) framework is fundamental for your vitality levels. Two moderately normal hormonal pathway dysfunctions in individuals who are battling with low vitality levels are hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal dysfunction (adrenal fatigue) and low thyroid capacity. There are numerous diverse purposes behind low thyroid capacity.
6. Toxins
The expression “poison” has gotten to be so worn out and universal in the wellbeing group that the normal individual perusing this article will most likely feign exacerbation right about now. The truth, however, is that our reality today IS a lot more immersed with substances that are lethal to our wellbeing. We are not hereditarily adjusted to this assault of lethality, and our vitality levels are normally the first “check motor light” that something is not right. With a far reaching wellbeing history and the utilization of legitimate analytic testing that can preclude regular toxicities like substantial metals or plastics; on the off chance that you would prefer not to hold up for tests, there are approaches to decrease poisons throughout your life now.

Each pharmaceutical medication has symptoms and a standout amongst the most widely recognized side effects is exhaustion. Basic drugs given for pulse, cholesterol, torment, diabetes, heartburn and misery can all cause chronic fatigue. It astounds me how little individuals think about the symptoms of the medications they take consistently. In case you’re on any drugs, I would prescribe figuring out if weariness is one of the symptoms.
In the event that your prescription is bringing on or adding to your weariness, talk about it with your specialist and find out what different choices you have. Your ultimate goal should be to regain your health and maintain it.
8. Lack of Quality Sleep
Granted, this sounds like a clear one! Yes, its actual, in case you’re simply staying up past the point of no return during the evening on the grounds that you’re viewing your most loved reality show and drinking huge amounts of juiced drinks, stop it. Go to cot prior. Be that as it may numerous individuals don’t know they aren’t resting soundly, and regardless of the possibility that they do, they can’t nod off or stay unconscious regardless of the fact that they attempted.
Sleeping disorders like sleep apnea and insomnia influences a huge number of individuals as far and wide as possible with almost no alternatives in the standard model of care. Managing the underlying issues that are creating the sleeping disorder is vital to restore your vitality levels. For gentle sleep deprivation, herbs like valerian and chamomile might be compelling. For sleep apnea, CPAP machines work for some individuals, and permit them to get the rest they have to recapture their vitality.
There are numerous pathways and conceivable outcomes for fatigue or any chronic wellbeing concerns. These distinctive dysfunctions need to be clinically “unraveled” and managed on an individual premise. Considering the single person rather than a summed up “one-size-fits-all” methodology should be considered as the main way to see a predictable, dependable and practical determination of wellbeing issues like chronic fatigue.

What To Know About Chiropractic Sleep
Originally posted on https://drricardolalama.com/what-to-know-about-chiropractic-sleep/ Chiropractic is popularly known for spinal care and pain management in the neck, back, legs and arms, but what about enhancement of sleep quality? Concerning that, chronic and long-term sleep disorders normally affects about 1.5 million Americans every year and also accounts for an approximate amount of $16 billion in terms of medical costs every year, without even including the indirect costs due to productivity loss and other additional factors. In addition, sleep deprivation may interfere with driving, work, overall quality of life, social activities and also, to a certain degree, the cause of some serious health problems. With more than 80 well- defined sleeping disorders, the insomnia disorder (difficulty falling asleep) is seen to be the most common followed by a disorder known as sleep apnea (an interruption in breathing when sleeping), restless leg syndrome and also narcolepsy.

According to NIH (National Institutes of Health), sleep is considered to be a “neurobiological need”. Actually, the optimum amount of sleep that is needed normally changes with age. Infants usually need 9 to 10 hours at night and 3 or more hours specifically for naps. In the case of toddlers, they need the same 9 hours at night but 2 to 3 hours or less daytime naps. Also, school age children normally do best with 9 to 11 hours and in the case of adults, it is 7 to 8 hours. Failing to establish a sleep cycle or may be when normal circadian rhythm is interrupted, long-term problems may rise. This can actually occur due to the missing of as little as 1 to 2 hours a night of sleep.
Spinal manipulation, chiropractic care, exercise training, relaxation therapy, dietary supplements, acupuncture and massage therapy are all seen to be viable options that help in the efforts of making someone fall asleep faster, stay asleep longer and also improve the overall sleep quality. Here are some important recommended lifestyle coaching tips that helps in the facilitation of sleep improvement:
1. Establishing a sleep schedule.
2. Relaxing (maybe reading a novel before bedtime).
3. Having a regular exercise routine
.4. Avoiding caffeine, alcohol and also nicotine!
You have to also know that sleeping aid medications may produce side effects that may be a culprit and also make someone become too sleepy the following day. There are some herbal supplements like Valerian that are available to help give you a better quality of sleep. When taken for about 4 to 6 weeks, it can really help in improving sleep quality and reduce the amount of time it takes you to fall asleep. It is usually combined with other supplements like lemon balm, lavender and skullcap.
Apart from that, melatonin is also another well-known herbal supplement that helps in dealing with insomnia, especially in falling asleep faster and also decreasing any interruptions of the circadian rhythm .The L-Tryptophan amino acid normally converts to 5- HTP and followed by the Serotonin ( brain neurotransmitter) and lastly into melatonin. The other popular forms of recommended therapy include the use of sounding machines and music therapy which can specifically help children and older adults. Exercises like Tai Chi, Yogaor Qigong are considered to be a combination of both exercise and meditation. When these methods are combined with a cognitive- behavioral therapy such as stimulus control and sleep restriction, it helps in giving some improvements when it comes to sleep quality. Using the nasal dilator strips were also identified to be so helpful for people with insomnia disorder and also sleep disordered breathing.
Generally, incorporating spinal hygiene into your lifestyle with quality chiropractic care will help provide better sleep for you. Plus, your spine will love you for it.

Drinking Water Is Vital For Good Health
Originally posted on https://drricardolalama.com/drinking-water-is-vital-for-good-health/
We, as consumers, are being bombarded on a daily basis by all the advertisements for drinking sports drinks, coffee, tea, sodas, beer, and the list goes on. While an occasional drink of these is not going to send your health into a downward spiral, a daily habit of consuming these refreshments IS detrimental to your overall health. What about water? Drinking water is one of the healthiest things you can do for your overall health, but far too many of us drink very little of this healthy fluid. Let’s take a look at why drinking water is vital for good health.
Consider this fact: over 50 percent of the weight of a human body is water. While this might sound unlikely to many, it is in fact true, and replenishing this fluid so you avoid dehydration is just one of the many reasons why drinking water is vital for good health.
The recommended amount of water a person needs to drink daily varies according to body size, weight, temperatures, and activity levels. Under normal circumstances 8 to 10 glasses of water weighing eight ounces each is what should be consumed daily.
Water also cleans your digestive tract, flushes out toxins from the bloodstream and liver, helps all other internal organs function well, and is a great way to help lose weight. If you drink the recommended amounts of water each day you are going to feel far fewer hunger pains as you stomach is already well hydrated and full.
For those who may have problems digesting food it is quite possible the cause is not drinking the recommended daily amount of water. Water helps the digestive system breakdown solid foods so you receive the full nutritional value and are able to easily pass the foods through your system.
Dehydration has been proven to result in muscle cramps, abdominal pain, being fatigued quickly, lethargic, a rise in your blood pressure, headaches, included painful migraine headaches, very dry skin, and eventual death if the body becomes very dehydrated. An extra reason, as if we need one, is drinking the daily recommended amount of water has been proven by research to help lower the risks of developing bladder and colon cancer.
The human body has a very intricate circulation system fueled by water. This means drinking water is vital to all aspects of our well-being. For those who just dislike the plain taste of water, try adding a squeezed lemon to your water for a more flavorful drink.

The Importance Of Paterson Chiropractic Care For Car Accident Victims
Originally posted on https://drricardolalama.com/the-importance-of-paterson-chiropractic-care-for-car-accident-victims/
Chiropractic is a health care profession where its practitioners, who are called Chiropractors or Chiropractic Physicians, focus on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system and the effects these disorders have on one’s general well being. Paterson Chiropractic Care is a Chiropractic service provided for the community of Paterson, New Jersey and is used most often to help in the treatment of neuromusculoskeletal complaints, including but definitely not limited to neck pain, lower back pain, sciatica and headaches, especially after a car accident.
Why Car Accident Victims in Paterson, NJ Should Get Paterson Chiropractic Care
One of the main reasons why car accident victims seek the services of a chiropractor is because they are in pain. Most of the times, the pain is caused by the nature of their injury, whether minor or grave. The other reason why someone would want to see a chiropractor is to get help with managing their posture. Most of the time, a bad posture effects the spine and it may cause pain sooner or later. In both scenarios, a chiropractor will help the patient to reduce the pain they are suffering from. The chiropractor may also suggest ways of ensuring that the patient gets enough exercise to remedy their pain and retain the functionality of the affected area.
How to Select a Good Chiropractor
When looking for a good Paterson chiropractor to help you get your health back, patients should take several important things into consideration. It is one thing to use chiropractic treatment to alleviate pain, and another to go to an unqualified chiropractor who will cause you more pain and stress. One of the misconceptions which most patients have is that since chiropractic is an alternative medical practice, or complementary medicine, the practitioners need not be certified. This is a common misconception that has cost people both money and health risks. For starters, you should consider doing a background check on your chiropractor before you engage their services. One of the ways of ensuring that you get the best Paterson chiropractor is by asking for recommendations from your doctor or healthcare provider. Chances are that they might know someone who will be suitable for the job. If your doctor cannot recommend a good chiropractor, you should consider using recommendations by friends or family members who have used one before.
Nowadays, with the internet being a part of our daily lives, it is easy to verify information regarding your chiropractor simply by the click of a button. When verifying chiropractic services online, make sure that you go through reviews of previous patients to make sure that the chiropractor is reliable. It is also important to check their official website and browse their services to see whether they will be beneficial to your unique needs. An online search is also important as it can give you more information on the educational background, clinical experience and qualifications of your chiropractor. Always counter check the chiropractor’s details with those of accredited councils and associations.
For instance, you should check whether the college they attended for their chiropractic training is accredited and approved by the Council on Chiropractic Education. Once you narrow down your search, you must organize a meeting with your prospective chiropractor. This is not only necessary to verify their existence, but also an opportunity for you to gauge their qualifications and service provision. Since the treatment you will undergo is a physical one, you may also want to assess the kind of rapport you may have with your doctor, as well as the compatibility of their style of spinal adjustments. Some people feel comfortable being worked on by a chiropractor of the same gender or of the opposite gender. If this is a preference for you, make sure that you communicate it to your potential chiropractor when you meet them in person.
Another thing to look out for during your initial meeting is whether the chiropractic office is comfortable. Some people wouldn’t mind having their treatment done at the chiropractor’s office in an open-room setting, while other people would prefer a more private treatment area such as curtains that separate treatment tables or a private room to themselves. If this is an option, it is important to discuss it with your chiropractor beforehand.
Another important thing to consider when choosing a chiropractor is their payment options. This is important because it will give you a feel of what to expect and the kind of budget to work with. While shopping around, you may even decide to settle on a chiropractor who is affordable. There is a misconception that the more expensive the chiropractor, the better their services. This may not necessarily be true. However, a very cheap chiropractor should raise red flags for you.
After verifying the qualifications and certifications of your prospective chiropractor, you should consider how they make you feel. A chiropractic treatment plan may be for a temporary period or for the long-term. When choosing a chiropractor, you should therefore consider whether you are comfortable working with them for a long time to come. Questions which you should ask yourself include whether they are friendly, courteous, helpful and available to answer your questions regarding your treatment plan. It is always advisable that you follow your gut instinct when choosing a professional to work with. If something does not feel right, you have the option of choosing someone else.
A final tip is to choose a chiropractor or chiropractic clinic that is near you. If you reside in Paterson, New Jersey, or its surrounding cities like Clifton and Passaic, for instance, you could narrow down your search to a chiropractic service provider close to you. Depending on the kind of pain you suffer from and the frequency of your treatment, choosing a professional who is closer to you would be convenient and less stressful for you. The closer the clinic, the easier for you to liaise with your chiropractor on time and locations for your diagnosis and treatment. It will not only save you time spent on the road, but also money.

What to Expect from Dr. Ricardo Lalama’s Paterson Chiropractic Care
When you book an appointment with Dr. Lalama for the first time, the team will arrange for your first consultation. The consultation is usually designed to get as much information about your injuries as possible. The initial consultation will also involve obtaining the patient’s case history. The doctor will ask you questions relating to your diet, family, past treatment plans you have been on, as well as the type of medication you have been taking. The consultation will usually be followed by a physical examination of the patient. In order to carry out the physical exam, the doctor may make use of a variety of techniques. One of them is the static and motion palpation method. The technique is normally used to determine whether the spinal segments are restricted or hypo-mobile. Apart from this method, the team may also use other diagnostic techniques, if necessary, such as an x-ray to check whether the positioning of your vertebrae is altered.
Chiropractor in Paterson, NJ Treatment Options
Here at MPower Chiropractic Wellness Center, the doctors have diagnosed a wide range of neuromuscular issues, ranging from lower back pain to neck pain. After reaching the proper diagnosis, a Doctor of Chiropractic will discuss it with you and help you come up with a treatment plan that will effectively deal with the pain. The treatment plan may involve frequent in-office adjustments and/or passive treatments that you can perform at the comfort of your own home.
An adjustment or manipulation usually involves a high velocity thrust exerted to a specific part of the spine. This pressure may end up creating an audible sound, signifying the release of gases in your spinal joints. Some patients will experience a cracking sound, but this may not usually be the case. In order to release the cracking sound, otherwise known as joint cavitation, the chiropractor should ensure that the patient relaxes. They can do that by applying ice pack on the spot, or through electrical stimulation. A bit of soft tissue massage and/or trigger point therapy on the area may also enable the patient to relax before the chiropractor can attempt another thrust to release the vertebrae. The frequency and number of adjustments recommended for any patient usually varies depending on the healing time and the nature of the injury.

Choose A Specialized Paterson Chiropractor For Healing Your Hidden Car Accident Injuries
Originally posted on https://drricardolalama.com/choose-a-specialized-paterson-chiropractor-for-healing-your-hidden-car-accident-injuries/ Car accidents are uncompromising affairs; they are potentially dangerous as they can cause serious injuries to your muscles, tendons, disc, ligaments, & nerves of your spine. In fact, a car accident brings loads of unwanted stress into your life. It can also force you to take a long break from your regular day-to-day job and it may further prevent you from performing specific tasks too.
While surgeries and medications are the typical “go-to” treatments for the victims of car accidents, there is a much better alternative…and that is to consult with a specialized professional Paterson Chiropractor. These car accident treating professionals will not only help you to lead a great and pain free life, but also they’ll even provide accurate treatments for your hidden car accident injuries. In the following context of this article, I’ll reveal the details on when and why you should really consider a chiropractic assessment after a recent car accident.
About Your Car Accident…Was It Massive Or Extensive?
In general, after an extensive car accident, when the victims get a severe head injury or the symptoms of internal bleeding, they should immediately opt for getting emergency medical care. In fact, when the condition is pretty serious, taking an urgent medical care approach to help is absolutely important.
However, if you’re involved in a minor car accident, emotions will be surely running high, which ultimately makes it pretty easy to ignore the common symptoms of injury. Failure to check with a specialist even after this minor incident can eventually prove costly at the end since you can end up with a chronic arthritic issue that usually takes years to heal and costs thousands of dollars in terms of your medical bills. Needless to say, it’s an absolute misconception that only massive or extensive car accidents can cause severe injuries. In reality, even minor car accident can also lead to potential soft tissue injuries such as whiplash, herniated discs, etc. The only way to heal your spine against these types of injuries is to consult with an experienced chiropractor in Paterson, NJ at the earliest time possible.
Are You Feeling Pain?
If you’re feeling an acute pain right after a car accident, then it’s a good indication of a potential soft tissue injury. If the incident caused some severe or life-threatening injuries, then you should immediately visit the nearest emergency medical care unit.
However, if you’re not feeling any pain, then it’s also a great idea to consult with a local chiropractor. Sometimes, a car accident may not necessarily cause an instant pain or discomfort, it may take several weeks to a couple of months before symptoms of pain become intensified.
It’s important to understand that if you haven’t undergone any necessary treatments during this time period, it becomes very difficult to make a claim to your insurance company. Hence, the best rule is – to be very cautious about your health (in this case, your spinal health), play it safe with your finances and take the appropriate steps necessary for yourself and your family by getting thoroughly assessed by a specialized professional chiropractor within two weeks following your car accident.
Choose A Specialized Car Accident Chiropractor In Paterson NJ For Healing Your Hidden Injuries
In order to protect your insurance rights, it’s important to visit your local hospital and medical care units if you’re faced with serious and life threatening injuries. Their medical practitioners can easily diagnose some life threatening injuries like fractures, concussions, broken bones, and other possible symptoms of injury right after a car accident. Even if they clearly state that you are completely fit by giving you a clean bill of health, you should always opt for a second opinion if you’re still experiencing some type of pain. In this case, checking with a qualified chiropractor should be your next immediate step.
Professional chiropractors are well-aware of such car accident hidden injures and they possess a profound level of expertise in treating such patients on a regular basis. A car injury may be hidden until months or even years without revealing the slightest pain or discomfort. Chiropractors are exclusively trained to detect such hidden injuries. Should I Get Paterson Chiropractic Care After My Car Accident
Originally posted on https://drricardolalama.com/should-i-get-paterson-chiropractic-care-after-my-car-accident/ Each day presents its own set of struggles and a car accident is the last thing anyone needs. In addition to the stress and chaos that it can bring about, you can sustain injuries that will force you to alter your day-to-day activities. However, if such an unfortunate event were ever to occur, your main concern would be where to get the best treatment for your injuries. As most people would advise you, this would be the most practical step.
The following are some of the reasons why you should seek the services of a Paterson Chiropractor for motor vehicle accidents:
The extent of the car accident
For most people, the first course of action after a car accident is to go to the hospital, and rightly so. The fact is that whenever head trauma is involved, or there is a possibility of internal bleeding, getting medical attention should be your first priority.
The thing that most people don’t take into account is that after an accident, regardless of how minor it is, soft tissue injuries can still occur, and if left unattended to, they can result in chronic arthritis issues. The thing about car accidents is that if the vehicle fails to absorb the full impact of the crash, the occupants do so.
Any time your body is jerked around in response to some sort of collision, the chance of injury is always there. There is a misconception that only high impact collisions lead to injuries, which is not the case. The truth is that even small fender benders can result in injury. In fact, you will find that in more than half of all whiplash related injuries that occur in automobile accidents, the vehicles received minimal damage. The only way to eliminate serious injury is to seek medical attention.
Pain
Pain is usually the main indicator of injury after an accident. In case there is any possibility of severe or life-threatening wounds, the fist step should be to visit an emergency room to know how bad things are.
Once you establish that there are no life threatening injuries, it is still wise that you visit a chiropractor in Paterson, NJ after your car accident. In most cases, victims of an automobile accident don’t experience any pain or discomfort until weeks or months have passed. If you do not seek treatment soon enough, you could forfeit your insurance claim for the injuries you sustained. The best thing you can do to secure your health and finances is to visit a Chiropractor 2 weeks after an accident.
Seeing A Specialist
Visiting a hospital or your primary care physician is a smart way to protect your insurance right; however, that doesn’t mean certain injuries can’t be overlooked. If you get cleared of any life threatening injuries, but still experience pain, then your next visit should be to a Chiropractor. The thing is that hospitals are equipped to identify major injuries like fractures, concussions, broken bones, and the more obvious signs of injury after an accident. But in case you still experience pain after receiving a clean bill of health from your physician, then getting a second opinion from a chiropractor won’t hurt.
Chiropractors have the necessary experience and expertise to detect hidden injuries. They can perform neurological and orthopedic tests to evaluate muscle strength, tissue damage, structural damage, joint and nerve functions, range of motion, and other injuries that medical practitioners might miss despite their best efforts.
If any injuries are revealed by your chiropractor, they will make a care plan that is customized to deal with your specific injuries. Such a care plan may include a timetable of chiropractic adjustments, trigger point therapy, and in some cases deep tissue massages. These adjustments will be used to restore your spine to a healthy state, together with the surrounding muscles and tissues.
In the event of an accident, there may be herniated discs, strained tissues, and subluxations. Chiropractic adjustments can help to straighten out these issues so that you can resume the life you are used to.
If you have recently been the victim of a car accident, you should think about seeking the services of a qualified chiropractor. A reliable Paterson Chiropractor, like Dr. Ricardo Lalama, D.C., for motor vehicle accidents can treat neck pain, muscle stiffness, headaches, tingling, back pain, numbness, and a wide range of other symptoms that may present themselves after an accident.

Whiplash Injuries In Paterson NJ From Minor Auto Accidents
Originally posted on https://drricardolalama.com/whiplash-injuries-in-paterson-nj-from-minor-auto-accidents/
So you just had a minor fender-bender more than a week ago and now your neck is really killing you. Not all whiplash injuries in Paterson, NJ are the result of violently being rear-ended or hitting another vehicle head-on where the evidence of neck injury is immediately apparent. It can take several days to a few weeks for minor injuries to the neck to fully manifest the extent of the trauma to your neck. This is why it is vital to substantiate any minor accident involving the whipping of the neck in case further down the road it is medically apparent the whiplash is a result of last month’s minor car accident.
Many factors play into these low velocity whiplash injuries to the neck. What was the position of your head just as the impact happened? Were you looking straight ahead, to the side, or even craning your neck to look behind you all play into how extensive and what treatments a chiropractor will need to know before beginning treatment. This is why the above documentation is so vital and should always be written down by first responders to any minor accident. Just backing out of a parking lot with your head and neck twisted to look behind you can produce a very significant whiplash in the event another vehicle hits you at low speed.
Modern cars are engineered with what are referred to as “crumple zones”. These are areas where studies of thousands of accidents have revealed the most likely areas of a vehicle to be damaged in an accident. They are meant to absorb as much of any low and high speed impact as possible so less force is transferred to the occupants of the vehicle. They do work but are not always a good indicator of how much actual force the occupants suffered in the accident. Major spinal and neck injuries can result even though the crumple zone “appears” to have taken the brunt of any impact.
Perhaps the best way to look to any type of upper spine and neck injury is the position of the headrest. If the headrest is too low to support any whipping motion of the neck then whiplash is much more likely. Always adjust your headrest to the proper height for maximum protection in the event you are hit from behind by another vehicle. This will limit the amount of movement your head and neck travel before coming in contact with support from the headrest.
After any minor vehicle accident always seek medical diagnosis. Whiplash injuries in Paterson, NJ from minor accidents can take days to weeks to become fully apparent. You will definitely want to have a record of this initial diagnosis in the event further medical treatment is required.

The theory of whiplash injuries can be traced back to Sir Isaac Newton and his ground breaking book Principia Mathematic. In this book Sir Isaac explains the three principals of motion with inertia being the one we credit with traumatic whiplash injuries. Basically what Sir Isaac Newton deduced was any object at rest tends to stay at rest, while an object in motion stays in motion. This is the basis for what causes traumatic injury to the head and neck when sudden opposing forces are applied. A good example of this theory in action is driving a car and being hit violently from behind while the vehicle with the soon to be whiplash injured individual is stopped or moving slowly and is then hit from behind by another vehicle moving at a much faster speed. The result is a sudden acceleration of the head and neck being violently whipped in a backward movement and then forward. Of course we have many other causes of whiplash injuries happening in sports and other circumstances.
The human head, when moved suddenly in an unexpected forward motion, works against the neck and upper spine creating the forces needed to cause this injury. The trunk of the body has more mass and thus is going to force the head to follow any sudden movement. The catch here is the human head weighs far less than the trunk of your body and there is going to be a delayed motion as the head whips backward or forward depending on the circumstances of the sudden forces applied. This is what results in the classic whiplash effect and resulting injury.
Whiplash injuries can be fatal as we witnessed several years ago during a NASCAR race. This example points out the traumatic whiplash injury to head and neck does not have to come from being hit from behind. Popular NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt lost control of his car and hit the track retaining wall with the front end of his race car. The result was his head whipping forward violently and breaking his neck. His death could have been prevented with a proper head support system. This has now become standard for race cars in many different racing venues with the development and implementation of the Hanns Device which restrains the head from any violent movement during sudden deceleration or acceleration of the vehicle. To date this innovation has saved countless lives on racetracks around the world, and while not practical for the typical passenger vehicle we drive daily on public roads, we still can reduce the possibilities of whiplash injuries by using the existing safety belts in passenger vehicles.
A typical vehicle is always under the principle Sir Isaac Newton laid out concerning inertia. You may not have considered the fact YOU as well as your vehicle are moving at a certain velocity through space. If the car is moving at speeds of fifty miles per hour so are you and any occupants, ANY sudden deceleration of the car, such as would happen in a head on collision, brings the vehicles AND the human body to a sudden and violent stop.
It is unfortunate that many people still insist on not using the restraining systems designed into their car. Seat belts and airbags will go a long way in preventing serious whiplash injuries and should always be used. Those who are short in stature and children are most likely to be negatively affected by airbags deploying in the event of a sudden deceleration so extra precautions need to be taken for these individuals. They should only ride in the back seats and always wear the seatbelts provided with a snug fit.
The healing process for whiplash injuries takes several weeks to many months depending on the severity of the injury. During the initial phase of this injury it is vital for the patient to stay immobilized for several days. As the swelling begins to recede, treatments can start, and your chiropractor will determine when, what initial steps need to be taken, and depending on how well you respond to treatments the pace of the healing process. He or she will normally work in conjunction with a doctor who specializes in this area of medicine so you are receiving the best care possible.
Whiplash injuries can be life changing events, and if not handled by skilled chiropractors and doctors you will suffer for many years. Seek immediate help if you are the victim of this debilitating injury for treatments and a full recover.

How is the Diagnosis for Fibromyalgia (FM) Determined?
In 1990, the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) introduced the diagnostic criteria for Fibromyalgia (FM). In order to meet the diagnostic criteria, the patient must have wide spread pain for a period of at least three months in addition to pain in eleven or more of the 18 specific tender points when using 4kg of pressure. Fibromyalgia (FM) is a very controversial disorder. Some doctors dismiss the disorder by referring to it as a myth, while others stake their reputation on it. Due to the significant controversy about the reality of the disease, patients looking for fibromyalgia help in Paterson should only seek council from a professional that is knowledgeable about Fibromyalgia (FM). Physicians should consider alternative conditions that are causing a patient’s pain before making a diagnosis of Fibromyalgia (FM).
What are the Symptoms of Fibromyalgia (FM)?
Those that suffer from Fibromyalgia (FM) often experience widespread pain throughout the body in addition to other symptoms such as moderate to severe fatigue, sleep disorders, brain fog, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), regular headaches or migraines, anxiety, depression and environmental sensitivities. Many studies suggest that the abnormal function of neuroendocrine nerves and hormones may contribute to the symptoms of Fibromyalgia.
What are the Causes of Fibromyalgia (FM)?
Research has shown a possible genetic link between those who suffer from Fibromyalgia (FM) and their immediate family members. Secondary Fibromyalgia arises after other health-related issues occur such as a physical trauma. Studies have shown that an acute injury or illness can often act as a trigger for initiating the onset of Fibromyalgia (FM). When investigating the underlying cause of Fibromyalgia (FM), researchers are now directing their attention to the central nervous system. In studies regarding the condition referred to as Central Sensitization, researchers have found that FM patients have a lower tolerance for pain or need less stimuli to trigger a painful response when compared to a healthy group of people.
What Treatments are Available to Patients That Suffer From Fibromyalgia (FM)?
There is no known cure for Fibromyalgia (FM). However, symptomatic support and functional improvement are the two primary goals when treating patients of Fibromyalgia (FM). Doctors have prescribed many drugs that have been utilized for Fibromyalgia (FM) such as sleep aids, muscle relaxers, anti-inflammatory pills, analgesics, anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medication. When seeking fibromyalgia help in Paterson, a patient should consider the alternative treatment methods such as massage therapy, visits to the chiropractor, Myofascial Release, acupuncture, herbal supplements and yoga. Physicians may often recommend swimming or walking for patients. There are several other factors that can help reduce the symptoms of Fibromyalgia (FM) including increased rest, reduction of daily activities and stress management techniques.

Your Chiropractor Can Help Relieve Allergies
Originally posted on https://drricardolalama.com/your-chiropractor-can-help-relieve-allergies/
Most people do not know chiropractic treatments are very effective in providing relief for those who suffer from allergies. Yes, you read this correctly. There are an estimated group of over forty million people in America who suffer from one or more of the common allergies spring and summer bring forth. Are you one of these? If so please read on for how a chiropractor can help relieve allergies and get you back into the summertime fun.
Common causes for these allergies include air born pollen particles from flowers, trees, grass, and weeds with dog and or cat dander being the leading cause of most common allergies. Short of getting rid of your pets and locking yourself inside the house these causes cannot be avoided. Over the counter medications are used by many people and will provide a small level of relief but they also have many negative side effect. These can often be worse than the allergy, so we suggest you visit your local chiropractor for help to relieve allergies without the OTC drugs. You will feel much better physically as well as not suffer the nasty side effects of all the drugs.
One of the first things the chiropractor will inform you about is all people are breathing in these same particulates yet not everyone has allergic reactions. Why is this so? Because not everyone’s nervous systems operate at the same level of efficiency. The human body is a very highly complex of “systems” working in unison to protect the body from all manners of germs, substances and other outside influences. If your nervous system considers these substances as a threat to the body they respond with releases of chemicals to combat the issue. For those who have allergies their nervous system is not responding with the proper response.
This is where the skill of a chiropractor comes in. He or she can improve the body’s nervous system’s function. This improves the ability for your body to release the proper chemicals to combat pollens, etc.
By manipulation/adjustments of the spine and neck, the chiropractor “restores” the ability of your body to communicate with your nervous system. This now results in the correct response by the body to the invasion of these particulates and the allergic reactions are eliminated in most instances. Nutritional supplements will also be recommended to increase the correct response to the common causes of allergies.
Visit your chiropractor and see how they can relieve allergies without dangerous drugs. You will be glad you did.
