2017 sees French DJ and composer Laurent Chanal join the Reworck cadre for RW30, our first release of the year. The package comprises two original tracks and a solitary remix from prolific duo The Unhottest. Chanal has been at the nucleus of the French progressive house and trance scene for the better part of two decades. Along the way his music and abilities behind the turntables has found favour with the likes of John Digweed, Sasha, Pole Folder, Markus Schulz and a slew of respected labels including Mirabilis and Baroque Records.'Sens' heads up proceedings. More vigorous than it's counterpart which follows, the track makes room for the Frenchman's musical inclinations by way of a propulsive bassline and unearthly inflections. The Unhottest table the remix. Having made a serious dent in the underground scene in recent years, they continue an upward trajectory with an interpretation which is both respectful of the original and awash with melodious annexations of it's own.'Barramundi' is the second in a brace of originals. Atmospheric, melodic and driving, the track illustrates Chanal's capacity and understanding of both musicality and dancefloor 'de rigeur'. An expedition to the deep is juxtaposed gracefully with emotive layers of sublime, arpeggiated synth work. Please enjoy.

Boom Merchant - Forest Drums (Original Mix + Pole Folder Remix)
Reworck 29, our final outing of 2016, comes via Glaswegian producer and club promoter, Boom Merchant. His burgeoning, multi-faceted Tribal Pulse event and record label has been making waves in the Scottish underground scene, including sojourns from Reworck's own Pole Folder.' Forest Drums' is a clear exhibition of the tribal-infused sound of which Boom Merchant champions, with an infrastructure of substantial, bongo-led drums. This bedrock isn't forgone with an awakening of melodic musings that follow. Reworck chieftain Pole Folder completes the package with an interpretation of his own. His personal journey into the forest bears a nod to the Northern Exposure vibe of yesteryear (which we are told was not pre-determined!). The Belgian curator navigates a remix rich in colours and ethereal texture as the soundscape is explored. We hope you enjoy.

New release on @reworck
Richard Zagiba's 'Just Hear' project revisits Reworck once more following a well-received label debut; this time unleashing the unforgettable single, 'Without You' (RW27). A blissed-out but highly rhythmic groove sets the foundations while a body of summer-infused guitar hooks and vocals caress the soundscape. Stuttgart's Vamos Art (Traum, Ton Liebt Klang, Love Matters) are first up on remix duty. Energy levels soar as the duo infuse some of the more soulful elements of the original into a driving percussive, bass-driven bedrock. Mindaugas Jak completes the circle with an adventure into a forest of beauty, subtlety and splendour. While being at least as danceable; (if not more-so) than a clutch of his recent works, Jak is again respectful to mood, feeling and emotion with his remix, completing a package destined for summer.

Just Hear - Uni Verse. Out now on Reworck.
Slovakian curator Richard Zagiba makes a Reworck debut with his brand new 'Just Hear' project, a manifestation of many years refining it's unique sound. With no shortage of studio experience under previous guises, this incarnation heralds a new dawn from which this talented artist is set to cement his reputation in 2016 and beyond. By virtue of it's seductive layers of texture and arpeggio, 'Uni Verse' is techy and trippy in equal proportions. These rich sounds flirt amongst a solid bed of pulsing bass and deep spoken vocals. Reworck's Pole Folder authors a reinterpretation of his own, taking some of the key original weaponry as ammunition to go forth into even deeper, trippier territory.

Reworck returns with a follow-up hot on the heels of RW23, the stellar extended player from Poland's Tuxedo. RW24 reincarnates three of the tracks from that very release; with fresh takes on the originals "Float Through Anxiety", "Pathways" and "People Come, People Go" coming from Pole Folder, Kobana and Sascha Kloeber respectively. Pole Folder's remix of "Pathways" was originally conceived as an opening track. Customarily intense and atmospheric, the Belgian ensures no stone is left unturned as textures are explored and soundcapes are weaved. Kobana is the second to assume the controls, having first come to the attention of label head Pole Folder thanks to his barnstorming 'The Riddle' album, released on Proton in 2014. "Float Through Anxiety" is heavily-laden with melody, groove and trippy atmospherics. Completing an already bounteous package is the Sascha Kloeber reworking of "People Come, People Go". Fitting of a grandstand finale, German virtuoso Sascha entwines some of the trippier elements of Tuxedo's original while reticulating a series of uniquely hypnotic and sterling sounds of his own. We hope you enjoy.

Reworck 23. Out Now.
As winter fast approaches Reworck returns to warm up the dancefloors with release 023, courtesy of Polish DJ/producer, Tuxedo.Coming from a musical family it is little surprise that Tuxedo's approach is centred around melodies, harmonics and emotive content. As demonstrated here, the cuts on his debut Reworck EP has all of those things in abundance. Each of the four, 'Pathways', 'Float Through Anxiety', 'People Come, People Go' and 'Petit Bateau' are beautifully juxtaposing, yet all are rubber stamped with the artist's distinct depth of sound and storytelling properties.

Harking back to Pole Folder's early club experiences, the spirit of house truly came alive in the raves of the early 90's. A standalone single with an unmistakable anthemic aura, it's these memories from which '1992' finds it's inspiration. Rave on.
