Confused. I'm completely and utterly confused.
I don’t know what I am anymore. Ah, let me take that back. I do know who i am, but I don’t know who I like. Isn’t it weird that one day you’re One Direction obsessed and the next you’re falling in love with every single member of Little Mix? I didn’t realize until four years later that their voice wasn’t the only thing I liked about them.
I’m about to be a senior in high school and by then you’re supposed to have nearly everything figured out for yourself. Or, that’s what society says. They except a 17/18 year old CHILD to figure themselves out by then. Yes, I said child. Regardless of how grown we all think we are, we are children who would run back to our authority figures within a millisecond of fear or danger with no idea on how to properly deal with the situation. Granted, there are some people out there who really know what they’re doing and got this adult thing startin’ off pretty well. Kudos to you guys, you’re the real ones.
Anyways, back to the main point of this. I don’t know if I like girls or boys or even both. I mean, I’ve had plenty of male crushes in the past, but haven’t most lesbians? Society pushes little kids to believe that only male and female should be together so how are we supposed to know with these silly little crushes? I don’t see myself with a man in the future. I see myself with a cute wife who helps me write dumb novels that we both know I will never get the balls to publish.
This is exhausting, I just wish I knew.
This summer I’m planning to go to a pride fest upstate. Maybe that’ll help me figure things out? This is something that is definitely number one on the summer bucket list.
Wish me the best of luck,
A.

Thoughts. Pt 1
Is ones success determined by their academic achievements or is it determined by the achievements they’ve made within the community?
I’ve been thinking about a lot of things lately. I’m about to head into my senior year of high school and I hardly have anything to show for it. Did I really succeed if my GPA is below the state standard? At this point, a 3.2 isn’t even in reach. I’ll be lucky enough to get it up to a 2.8 by the time the year is over. Ah, forget it. I just checked my GPA and it’s gone up a whole .1.. Slacking off my freshmen and Sophomore year is easily my biggest regret. I could’ve done so much better. What’s the point of dwelling on the past if it’s going to hold you back from moving onto better things in the future? My brain is going at 1000 miles per hour right now and I can hardly contain my thoughts. Whew, wish me the best of luck.
Next year is going to be the saddest, yet greatest year of my teenage life.

The 57 Bus - Review
One of the 2020 Illinois’ Abe Lincoln Books!
Started; 5/29/19 Finished; 5/31/19
4/5 Stars
This book is based in Oakland, 2013. It’s a true story of two teenagers that were involved in a crime that changed their lives for the worse.
Don’t worry, no spoilers coming. This is all MOSTLY on the back cover.
Sasha, a non-binary teenager, was minding their own business on a typical bus ride home when Richard, an African-American teenager, was persuaded by a couple of his buddies to light their skirt on fire. Little did he know what he was getting into.
You’re probably thinking.. why does it matter if they’re non-binary or if he’s African-American. What’s the point in pointing it out? To answer your question, Richard’s stupid act was considered a hate crime due to the police falsifying his story, and him loosely throwing around the term “homophobic” even though he thought it meant not liking men, and only girls. Since he is African-American, he joins the 70% of young African-American males that make up for most of the detention center’s population.
I recommend this book to anyone and everyone. It’s a quick read, and I think it’ll be a real eye-opener to their being more than three basic sexualities. It’ll also open your eyes to how poorly young black men are being treated within the courts.
