still obsessed with the idea people have that the writers are like we need to shut down buddie once and for all. and to do that we will introduce the concept to people who have never thought about it. via Buck’s ex they barely remember. and then not outright shut it down. we’ll do that later. after they’ve thought about it for awhile. to really hammer home how it’s NOT true. Buck and Eddie will be glued to FaceTime in the meantime. this is the strategy for the season and it is foolproof

I think there's something very intentional about how integral Buck has been in reuniting Eddie and Chris. I generally agree with people who've said that fanon exaggerates how much of a coparent Buck has really been up until now, but I think in these last few episodes, the show is very purposefully giving Buck a big part in Eddie's Texas arc and in Eddie bringing Chris home, in part because they are trying to show us that Buck is ready for this role and he is part of this family. Eddie only is able to go to Texas because Buck puts aside his own feelings of abandonment to move into his house, for Eddie yes, but as Buck reminds him, for Christopher too. And every single time Eddie hits a bump in the road with Chris in Texas, he calls Buck, and Buck tells him exactly what he needs to hear in that moment in order to move forward and do the right thing. Ultimately it's Eddie whose dad instincts tell him Chris needs to come home, and it's Eddie's courage and confidence that get the job done, but Buck played the perfect supporting role every step of the way, and maybe Eddie could have done it without him, but it would have been a hell of a lot harder and would have taken much more time. The show did this on purpose. They put Buck into this arc on purpose. They could just as easily have had Eddie go to Bobby for advice (he's done it tons of times before) or Hen or Eddie, characters who are actually parents, but no. He goes to Buck, and Buck is able to be his rock in this way, and all of this is for a reason and that reason is BUDDIE CANON

living happily in my world where maddie had to listen to her brother meltdown about the implication of being in love with his straight best friend and just. took a picture of him. in his adorable little housewife apron. and went. hmm i wonder who would enjoy this. and sent it to eddie. who she never speaks to. and eddie seeing a text from maddie and freaking out. lunging for his phone only to see a beautiful picture of buck practically glowing. and he's like :) thank you maddie :). and then he sets it as his little contact picture for buck. and he's just smiling to himself for the rest of the day.

Eddie has never looked hotter than when he strut into his parents house, told his mom "Then you know what's happening" with that fucking smirk, packed up Chris's stuff while telling her off, and walked out the door.

eddie has more skill lore than any other character on this show. perfect firefighter and paramedic staff sergeant in the army with a silver star mma fighter car guy who can illegally change a tire in less than 5 minutes champion ballroom dancer who was so good he could have gone to college on that talent poker nights with his bosses basketball every other thursday baseball pitcher at some point he loves going to the beach with chris and watching telenovelas. he is the best dad in the world. not perfect just the best. and by the way he can cook now. Who is doing it like this

so chris was mad at eddie when he left and it broke eddie but chris never didn't want eddie!! he always wanted eddie to be there and to live with him and talk to him and listen to him but he was too afraid to ask eddie for it. CHRIS was afraid EDDIE didn't want to be his dad and/or didn't want him. i don't know exactly how yet but i know this is helena and ramon's fault
