Before the computing era, ILM was the master of oil matte painting, making audiences believe that some of the sets in the original Star Wars and Indiana Jones trilogy were real when they weren’t. They were the work of geniuses like Chris Evans, Michael Pangrazio, Frank Ordaz, Harrison Ellenshaw and Ralph McQuarrie ! Forever thank you, to their handmade art and the work of their colleagues, that made us dream of impossible worlds and fantastic places across Earth and the Universe.

This piece was inspired by various observations I made and conversations I heard regarding our culture’s hypersensitivity to “sex”. I wanted to show how foolish and unnecessarily nervous people are about approaching this topic and ended up portraying an overly protective mom who shields her young son from the “evils” of nudity.
I decide to show a little process of how I make my images. I paint everything in black and white separately, then compose the elements and colour them in Photoshop. All the textures are either handmade or scans of existing ones.

Fashion is telling us to dress for the Apocalypse. Instragram (reputable fashion critic/ life critic) is raving about the genius of Kanye West’s Yeezy Season 2. The mutated pallettle and hybrid  look of luxe and second hand clothing seem to be inspired by the same aesthetic of this years “Mad Max: Fury Road”. It reflects us now, and is styled with fantasy, and the ever popular notions of a dystopian future.

Stephen Colbert pens hilarious and important feminist op-ed
Who runs the world? If Stephen Colbert could have his way: women. In an op-ed for Glamour magazine, the future Late Show host pushes for equal rights and treatment of women in the workplace and the media, all while mixing in a healthy dose of humor. But despite the hilarious jokes, his extended quotes make some incredibly crucial points.
