Well, hello there.
Judging by the title, you all probably already know I’m new here. And you’re very correct. I’ve never used tumblr before for anything, and I’m only really starting now because I want to build an online presence to help motivate me to create more art to help me hopefully someday get into Calarts or SCAD(for character animation, specializing in traditional/2D animation, if you’re wondering).
On the side, I love analyzing characters, themes, plots, etc., so there will also be plenty of that around here. If there’s something I can analyze, I’m going to do it. I’m a huge fan of good gen fanfiction for pretty much anything I’m into--right now I’m hooked on BNHA and Mob Psycho 100, but anything from National Treasure to Legend of Zelda to Terror In Resonance that has good gen is something I'll read. I also write some smaller pieces of my own, mostly for BNHA, but I’m thinking of doing a Darker Than Black fic or perhaps a Terror in Resonance fic(one with a happy ending, because god that ending killed me), so you guys might see some of that if you stick around.
I’m gonna try to do as much art as possible, because I really need to refine my style + work on my techniques and proportions when it comes to digital art, which I’m also pretty new to. I’m pretty good with watercolour, but digital is something I’m still getting the hang of. (And if anyone has good tips for working with Krita + ancient laptop + Wacom tablet, definitely let me know).
... I should probably introduce myself. Well, in case anyone is wondering, I’m 16yro high school student who likes art, psychology, anime, animation(unless it’s Pixar. ugh), science(especially medical stuff), and writing. I’ve got four cats that go by the names of Molly, Rudy, Eeyore, and Toothless(the only dude), MTBI type as an INTJ, enneagram as 5w6, and I hate ketchup with an undying passion. I also happen to play the piano(kind of), love musicals(especially Hamilton & Dear Evan Hansen), loves Shakespeare and Victor Hugo’s Les Miserables(plus the musical movie version which is gorgeous), and happens to be an odd cross between a Hufflepuff and a Slytherin(the Hufflepuff is mostly my inner nerd coming out whenever I’m not annoyed at someone or when I’m having an interesting conversation). I’ve also taken four(?) years of Latin and 2 of ancient Greek, some German, and know a little French. I love learning languages, and someday I’d love to try my hand at Japanese, since it’s supposed to be one of the hardest languages to learn to speak, much less write. (But if you ask me to speak fluently in and of those languages, it’s not going to happen. You can’t really speak fluently in a dead language.... I mean, you can, but that’s not how you learn them. You learn to write/understand them, not speak them.)
So yeah, that’s me in a nutshell, and seeing as this post is getting decently long, I think I’ll just leave it there.
Oh, btw, you can just call me Requiem.
