@rookedcrow asked: ❛ this day feels like it's never gonna end. ❜
Everyone was taking the fall of weisshupt hard and Bellara couldn't blame Rook for the way she was feeling. Rook had always been such a good friend to her and she wanted to repay that in kind but there was just...so much going on right now. With her brother. With the Veil Jumpers...
Still, Bellara searched her face, tilting her head a little as she listened to her.
"I'm sorry Rook..."
She never felt like she was the best with words. They tended to come out and not be as eloquent as she would like.
"I really wish I knew how to make things better and this...is so huge. I'm sorry...If there's anything I can do...please tell me and I'll try..."

"...Oh! I've never thought about Davrin that way....I....um, suppose he is very handsome? and it's REALLY hard not to notice how...muscled he is...you won't tell him I said that, right?"
She's leaning towards a smash. Hypothetically.

"If only...maybe that's why I've preferred these to people at times..." She joked, although there was some truth to it. Bellara loved her studies into elven artifacts. Her favourite part was fixing the broken ones. The more she did it, the more she learned about the past. She couldn't help but give him a smile, "I've been trying to activate the Nadas Dirthalen but I'm struggling to get it to work...but I hope we'll be able to know more about what the Gods are planning with the information is has..."
❝ some people call this junk. me? i call it treasure. ❞ @relicwhisperer
He smiled, encouragingly. "I think it's admirable, that you can take something broken... and fix it." He had never been good at that: fixing things. He'd been taught how to destroy. He was a formidable mage on the battlefield: no one could stand in his path. "If only it was as easy with people, hm?" He joked, trying to play it off as light. If only people could be fixed so easily. But no, they only kept breaking, breaking, breaking...

She could sense when the fade wasn't right. Her studies into the thing that ties the living to the dead made her hyper aware of these matters and she had to admit, she was afraid for them all. Every bone in her body felt off.
"I agree. I think we need to turn around and go," Part of her was curious. As Bellara was curious by nature, she wanted to know what was going on in the fade to cause so much...pain. That is the only word that can be used to describe it.
Pain.
"I don't know Rook...it could be Solas...could be the Gods. Could be a mixture of both..." She said, hushed whisper as they walked together, her eyes casting to every single shadow and flicker of light.
"Whatever is happening though, the fade is extremely thin here. It feels...painful. Sad...miserable...it's quite incredible but..." She said, looking at Luc, "Dangerous..."
@relicwhisperer asked: "The veil between worlds is thinning. Something’s coming, and it’s hungry."
they can feel it like a whisper against their skin and a freezing shiver down their spine, causing them to roll their shoulders out of reflex. the air here felt wrong, too thin, like they were at the top of a mountain. they take in a deep breath and taste something thick and almost metallic on their tongue, and it feels heavy in the back of their throat. they'd felt the veil thin in places before, but nothing like this. it makes them viscerally uncomfortable, as if something deeply instinctive is screaming at them that something is wrong, wrong, wrong. danger, danger, danger.
"i sense it, too," they murmur. silvery gaze turns to bellara and the fear glitters there, unable to be hidden. "we need to get out of here. don't cast unless you absolutely have to. everything here feels too...volatile." they glance around, trying to sense for anything: spirits, demons, anything of that sort. nothing. "we should definitely tell emmrich about this. he'll probably know more and if he doesn't, then he may know where we can find answers."
there had been issues all over thedas for the last ten years, even with the breach firmly closed and corypheus dead. solas's ritual had only made it worse, damaging the veil further. would it come down on its own, even without the ancient elf's direct interference? "do you think this is because of the gods? because of solas? or...is it something else? something....different?"

It hadn't been her intention to get all weepy in front of Rook. Things had just been...hard and she sometimes tired of pretending to be so cheery and happy all the time. She'd lost so much. They all had but the pain of losing her brother hit her most days. All this. All this fighting and for what, she didn't know.
"Rook...I'm sorry..." Bellara said, after processing her words. She hadn't meant to get so serious. She didn't want to bombard him with her fears. There was so much more at stake than her problems.
"I didn't mean to...you know, get all emotional like that. We have so much bigger problems right now like...the elven gods. I'll be fine,"
She managed a small smile.
"Thank you. I appreciate your words though,"
@relicwhisperer ❛ i’m scared of ending up alone. ❜
"Bellara," Rook spoke, voice aching with something he didn't realize was there as he bears witness to her pain and vulnerability. She had already fought against so much loss, they all have— so her fear is incredibly understandable. And yet, despite that, he finds himself in awe of it. She was much more open about her feelings than he ever could be, and he respected that so, so much.
But she wasn't alone— she didn't have to be, and Rook would ensure that.
He steels himself, brows knitting together just so, as his expression takes on an edge of determination. Wading to her side, he places a hand on her shoulder, offering her a small reassuring smile. "You'll never be alone, not if I can help it. I promise. The others and I— we're all here with you."

@rookedcrow liked for a starter!
"I really appreciate you coming to help me with these artifacts," bellara could barely keep still. excitement, mixed with anxiety buzzed through her, "Since all this started, Arlathan hasn't been the same. Unpredictable...but it's exciting..."
