Intuition is a such strange thing. We like to think of it like a voice or a strong pull towards something, but at least in my own experience, it’s a lot more subtle. Sometimes too subtle that I often miss the cues.

Yesterday as I was walking past my altar, I spotted a bag of dried rue that I had stored on the shelf above. I have a few other herbs stored there, but it was the rue that caught my attention. I had a sudden thought to make rue water. No idea why, as I generally use Sage to cleanse my space, and I didn’t think it was time for a smudging anyways. But I grabbed it anyways and brewed a strong rue tea.

I just had a feeling that I needed to wash my front door with it. I’ve seen Chaoticwitchaunt on YouTube use rue a lot in her practice for protection and warding off the evil eye.

After I had finished, there was a definite shift in the atmosphere. It feels lighter now. Also while out walking the pup, I came across another hawk feather.

So trust those little nudges you get. Whether it’s intuition or simple inspiration. I need to remember to just trust it.

My name is Reivyn, I’m a practicing witch in my 30’s. I lean towards the trad-craft / folk magic side, sprinkled with a bit of hoodoo and other traditions.

I’ve been recently getting back into art, both traditional and digital, and have picked up cross-stitching. I tend to bounce around hobbies as I’m inspired.

I dream of one day having a homestead in the woods, living off grid in a log cabin with a big garden. In the meantime, I’m stuck in the city working full time at a pet store.

I made this tumblr in the hopes of keeping myself motivated on current projects, and the hope that people may be the least bit interested in my rambles.
