We know the usual horror trope of a family moves into a house, someone gets possessed, yada yada yada. But what if you combine that with an unreliable narrator.

We watch the movie as usual, it’s about a teen that recently moved with their family. Obviously the house turns out to be haunted, one of the teen’s family members gets possessed. Only all the others don’t seem to notice at all. The person that’s possessed acts as they usually would around the others, only the main character notices. It drives them mad. Every night they get tormented by this family member under the influence of an otherworldly being. The teen decided to take matters into their own hands, and finds a ritual that’ll help. The ritual involves physically harming the person possessed (idk how, we’ll figure it out). So we see this early teen slowly get the demon out of their sibling or parents body. The ritual is complete, the demon is gone.

In one of the last scenes, after the movie feels like it’s over, the narrative switches. We see the family come into a room and watch in horror as their teenage kid leans over the dead body of the alleged possessed. We flash back. We see multiple scenes of the teen and the family member that they saw as possessed. The teen is delirious with fear, the other is just trying to help, but seems to make their state worse. We see the family discussing this and planning a date to visit a doctor. This visit would have been the day after the teen brutally murdered one of their family members because they believed them to be possessed.
