Trick or Treat?
Nancy used to watch Alice in Wonderland all the time, so Karen made an Alice costume, but actually Nancy would watch it because she loved the white rabbit. It's okay though, another year she went like a rabbit.
Karen also made a Robin Hood hat for Robin. She loved it so much that she used it the other year as Peter Pan and the next as Green Arrow.

16. Trick Or Treat (Nancy)
Nancy had been opening the door, what felt like every second, to give candy. She didn't mind it, but would've preferred other plans this Halloween. Until she opened the door to Robin, who wore a cat costume.
"Trick Or Treat." Robin smiled.
"Happy Halloween Robin." Nancy smiled, she gave Robin candy.
"Thanks. Happy Halloween Nance." Robin looked at Nancy's Vampire costume. "I actually wish we could still Trick Or Treat."
"My mom and Joyce did assign me and Jonathan to go with our younger brothers and their friends." Nancy suggested.
"Yeah, with everything going on with Will, that makes sense. It's nice you're going, so he doesn't feel like the only one."
"You should come with us, I know that'll put us at the back for Trick Or Treating, but we can still get candy."
"I'd love that. Maybe hold my hand again, if we find a haunted house? They can be super scary!" Robin blushed exaggerating.
"Oh yeah, totally." Nancy played along, taking Robin's hand and pulling her into the Wheeler House, then called out to the party. "If you guys aren't all ready in 5 minutes, me and Robin are going Trick Or Treating without you!"
"No!" Mike ran in. "We're ready, I swear, Max just needs to find her mask and-"
Max interrupted by jumping out in her Michael Myers mask, making everyone scream. Max laughed, taking the mask off. "Every time. Come on, let's go!"
Nancy and Robin then left with Jonathan and the party to go Trick Or Treating. Nancy held Robin's hand in the haunted houses, although none of them, were actually as scary as the Creel House.

ronancetober - day fifteen: autumn
Nancy doesn’t know how she ended up in this situation. She’s clutching a cup of coffee in her hands, her second of the day already, and she and Robin are both wearing middle-of-the-road jackets they got from the thrift store at the end of last year.
“Oh,” She says quietly, a little gasp, when she steps out onto the wooded path they’ve planned to wander this morning. The trees are flush with color, reds and yellows and oranges brighter than any leaves she’s used to back home. Beside her, she feels Robin halt, similarly impressed. When Nancy peers over at the taller girl, Robin’s eyes are shining as she cranes her head back, scans across the whole sky.
It’s not their first autumn in Boston, but it is the first one they’ve decided to make matter, the first they’ve honored as an event all its own. It was Robin’s idea to go into the forest to look at the leaves, the New England fall famous for its beautiful trees. Leaf-peeping, she’d called it, actually, but Nancy can’t help but giggle when she thinks of it like that.
“It’s so pretty,” Robin murmurs, and Nancy lets her eyes fall from the trees, brilliant against the sunny blue sky, to Robin’s silhouette.
“Yeah,” Nancy responds, tracing Robin’s shape with a smile, “it is.”

15. Autumn (Robin)
Robin rode their bike to the Wheelers, loving the autumn season with beautiful colorful leaves, flying off trees to make mini mountains on the ground.
Nancy invited Robin in, Robin got two pumpkins out their backpack.
"Why do you have small pumpkins in your bag?" Nancy asked.
"The bigger ones wouldn't fit." Robin answered. "I stopped by the pumpkin patch on the way here. I thought it'd be fun to carve some pumpkins, while it's so near Halloween. Mike and Holly have."
"I didn't have time this year." Nancy smiled fondly. "Thanks for the pumpkins."
"No problem, we have time now. Are you going to make yours cute or scary?" Robin picked up a couple of sharp knifes.
"Nothing scarier than seeing you with those knives." Nancy laughed, slightly teasing, but also slightly concerned. "Do I need to remind you to be careful?"
"No. I can do it." Robin laughed, then excitedly pitched the idea. "I think we should have a contest, whoever carves the scariest pumpkin gets to eat the candy."
"That sounds like a fun plan." Nancy smiled, they both started working on their pumpkins, hoping to win at carving the scariest pumpkin.

ronancetober - day fourteen: wild west
Robin isn’t much for people, mostly because they’ve never been much for her, but there’s something about the town of Hawkins that stirs something in her gut. It’s the first party she’s been to in years, and her time on the road hasn’t done much to make her less awkward. Her edges are a little harsher, though Robin remains steadfastly polite, especially when it comes to pretty women.
Nancy Wheeler is much more than a pretty woman.
She’s certainly beautiful, don’t get Robin wrong. The high points of Nancy’s face are sun-touched, her hair falling in soft waves over her shoulders. Below the brim of Nancy’s hat, her blue eyes flash with dangerous cleverness.
But, in the short few days Robin’s hung around these parts, she’s also proved to be shrewd, determined, annoyingly competitive, and doggedly self-sacrificing. It’s enough to give Robin heart palpitations.
“You drinking tonight, Buckley?” Nancy asks, sidling up beside Robin where she’s carefully placed herself hugging the wall.
“Maybe,” Robin allows, feeling herself blush when it earns her a smirk from the other woman. “And what if I said I was?”
“Well,” Nancy says, turning the full force of those bright eyes Robin’s way, “I’d ask if you’ve had enough liquid courage to indulge a girl in a dance.”
The sentence is bold, but Robin can see the nerves fluttering in Nancy’s eyes. It’s enough to push her over the edge, when she might have otherwise politely declined.
She extends a hand to Nancy, palm up, and grins ear-to-ear when Nancy laces their fingers together. No harm in dancing, after all.

14. Wild West (Nancy)
Nancy wasn't planning to watch Wild West movies with her younger brother Mike, however she couldn't help enjoying the movies Mike had on the television.
At least until Nancy's lack of sleep caught up with her and she fell asleep on the couch, while the movie continued to play, with Mike still watching.
Nancy was now in the Wild West, wearing a pink cowgirl hat, with her blue denim jacket, white shirt, grey cardigan, colorful shirt and pink boots. She pushed open the saloon doors to go outside.
She loved playing Quickdraw and target practise by shooting cans with her gun.
Nancy was then very happy to see her partner pull up and park her horse near her. Robin wore a yellow cowgirl hat, yellow hawaiian shirt, blue jeans and yellow boots.
"Evening Wheeler." Robin smiled, tipping their hat towards Nancy in a charming way.
"Good evening, Ms Buckley." Nancy smiled, happy to see Robin. "Where to now?"
"I thought I'd take you back to mine, see my farm and rest with me by the campfire." Robin offered.
"Yeah, I'd love that, was hoping to see you here. Lucky taking us there?" Nancy asked, referencing Robin's light brown horse.
"Of course, who else?" Robin untied Lucky.
Robin jumped on the horse, then held her arms out for Nancy. Nancy took both of Robin's hands, putting her foot in the saddle. Nancy jumped up behind Robin, both sitting on the horse.
"Hold on tight, can't have you falling off, can we?" Robin said, as Nancy then wrapped her arms round Robin, hugging them from behind. As Robin rode off towards the sunset with Nancy.
Nancy knew it was a dream, but loved all her adventures with Robin.

13. Extraterrestrial (Robin)
Robin sat on the couch with Nancy, watching the movie ET. Robin loved this movie, but knew Nancy hadn't seen the movie before, so loved seeing her first reactions to ET.
"Robin! This is like what happened with El!" Nancy laughed. "Mike was hiding El in our basement and had a disguise for her, using a blonde wig and my old pink dress."
"No way!!" Robin laughed, trying to imagine the boys hiding and disguising Eleven.
Robin then found something, she found newly relatable in the movie. "The radio tower they're using to call ET's home, it really looks like what Dustin used to call his girlfriend Suzie."
"Yeah. I can see that." Nancy fondly smiled.
Near the end of the movie, Robin saw Nancy started crying and hugged her. "Hey it's okay Nance, ET will be okay."
"Really?" Nancy asked hopefully.
"Yeah. Do you want me to skip past the sad bit, then you can see-?" Robin offered.
"No, you can't appreciate the happy moments without sadness." Nancy replied, cuddling into Robin, while watching the movie. "Thank you for the offer."
Nancy was right, as they both appreciated the happy ending. Robin really enjoyed watching ET with Nancy.

12. Spell (Nancy)
Nancy found herself in the new witchcraft store in Hawkins, near Melvalds General Store and next to Radio Shack.
Nancy was fascinated by all the books, crystals, jewellery and so many fascinating items she'd never seen before in her small hometown of Hawkins. She was starting to become a regular customer, her latest purchase being everything she needed for a protection spell.
She was usually skeptic when it came to magic or supernatural items, but after everything she experienced recently, Nancy was open to trying anything that had a chance of protecting herself and everyone she cared about.
Nancy first used the spell for herself and Robin, before moving on to the rest of her friends and family. Nancy had no way to tell if it worked yet, since there was currently no threats, thankfully.
"Can I help?" Robin asked, entering the kitchen, while Nancy was hard at work making potions. "Or I can distract my beautiful girlfriend instead?"
"Stop." Nancy blushed and giggled, then tried again to focus. "It's not that I don't want to take a break, but this is very important and I can't get distracted."
"That's no fun." Robin pouted and teased, before wrapping her arms around Nancy from behind, making Nancy jump as Robin kissed her cheek. "It's our one year anniversary and I love you."
"Happy anniversary, I love you too-" Nancy let go and turned round to hug Robin. "Wait, did I accidentally use a love spell?"
"No. I was under your spell, before the potion." Robin smiled and kissed Nancy's lips. "It wasn't a love spell, we don't need one, like I don't think we need a protection spell. You've always protected us before."
"I know. I'm just scared, what if Vecna comes back?" Nancy admitted. "It can't hurt, having extra protection?"
"True, but you deserve a break." Robin let go of the hug, to get a pink gemstone out her pocket to give to Nancy. "Like this Rose Quartz. Wherever you go, you can carry our love with you."
"That's so sweet. I love it. Thank you Robin." Nancy smiled and took the crystal. She then gave Robin a brand new pack of Tarot Cards. "I got you Tarot Cards, you did say you wanted to be a Fortune Teller."
"As long as my future is with you, I'll be happy." Robin smiled. "Now let's go celebrate, we can go back to potion making later."

Not doing a handwritten title card makes this look deceivingly professional lol.
I've had a lot of darkness surrounding my life, so this is my attempt at counteracting it with something silly and light. I hope this brings a little light to anyone else who needs it too. <3

11. Guardian (Robin)
Robin couldn't imagine ever having a protective guardian, her parents were caring but not usually overprotective. Robin loved the independence, but that's all she knew.
That was until they were in the Upside Down with Nancy, but Nancy being like a guardian, was unexpectedly comforting for Robin. Nancy asked Robin to stay close to her, while reminding Robin to be careful when running past vines. Most importantly, Nancy always managed to calm Robin's nerves, especially holding her hand in the Creel House and reassuring them.
Back in Nancy's car, Robin was surprisingly quiet, thinking of this.
"What's wrong?" Nancy asked softly.
"Nothing. I love that you and Steve drive me to work sometimes, it's not that I don't appreciate it. I just feel like I've changed. My whole life I just rode my bike everywhere and I loved that. I don't think it was the bike, but the freedom of going round Hawkins alone?" Robin sighed, hoping Nancy understood.
"I get that, it's how I feel about driving."
Robin was relieved Nancy understood. If it wasn't for everything they'd experienced in Hawkins, Robin knows she'd ride her bike again and more often.
"You said before, you couldn't drive, because you were poor, right? Was that the only reason, you can't drive?" Nancy asked.
"Uhm, yeah." Robin replied confused.
"What if after work I take you to an empty parking lot and I teach you how to drive?" Nancy suggested. Robin loved the idea, really happy that Nancy understood and wanted to help.
"Yes please, I'd love that, only if you're sure?" Robin was excited at the idea of being able to drive with Nancy's help.
"Yes I'm sure, just don't tell the kids, especially Max. Steve told me how scary her driving was. I'm sure you can't be a lot worse." Nancy teased.
"Not that bad." Robin laughed. "It should be easy for me, like riding a bike."

fox's ronance moodboards (ft. max mayfield) - beetlejuice au
The past six months had gone by in the literal blink of an eye, between the funeral (the last time Robin and Nancy had been able to leave their home) and the Hargrove-Mayfields moving into what was once a haven of privacy for them.
Robin was about at her wit's end. She wanted the Hargrove-Mayfields out yesterday. Nancy, however, was still determined to find a way to get the family to leave voluntarily without involving... outside help. Bio-exorcism, Steve called it when looking over their case file.
They had decided to make one more big swing before calling on... what's his name? Robin couldn't remember. Ethan? Edward?
As they'd found themselves isolated to the attic, Nancy had dug up some old sheets that were brought up by the movers on the second day. The thread count was... definitely high. These folks had money.
Robin observed Nance cutting out the eyeholes in the sheets to make them look like proper ghouls and smiled.
Nancy looked up.
"What?"
"Oh, it's nothing."
Nancy smiled back.
A couple of hours later, they both donned their sheets. Ready for one last big go of it. Robin's horror movie-watching might actually pay off for once. The sun had gone down and the Hargrove-Mayfields were settling in for their third night in the house. As they approached the bedroom door of the older son, Billy, Nancy sighed.
"What's wrong?" Robin asked her, concerned.
"I just feel so stupid, Rob. This feels so... corny."
"Don't worry about that, Nance. We're ghosts. Just give it your best go. They'll be terrified."
Robin started moaning and groaning as if on cue, vaguely reminiscent of a Scooby Doo cartoon villain. Nancy begrudgingly joined along, willing to try anything at this point.
At that moment, there was a flash and the clicking of a camera.
Shit.
Robin and Nancy turned around, faced with the red-haired teenage daughter of the family. Max? Max.
"Alright you perverts, I've got you on camera. Come out with your hands up. Sick."
Max picked up the photo from the floor, shaking it out quickly. And then she went quiet.
"No feet."
Max, with little to no adverse reaction to discovering that there were ghosts living in her own house, approached the couple with curiosity.
"You're the guys that've been hiding out in the attic? Aren't you?"
Robin, ever the try hard, responded.
"We're ghooooooosts!"
This was greeted with a slap on the arm from Nancy. Max came even closer, clearly only having her curiosity even more piqued.
"You're not scared?!" Robin exclaimed, pulling back from the girl.
"I'm not scared of sheets. Are you gross under there? Are you Night of the Living Dead under there? All rotting bones and pus?"
Well, now Max just seemed downright excited. She tried to look through Robin's eye-holes first, then resorting to attempting to straight up remove the sheets.
Nancy ended up removing her sheet on her own, looking aghast at Max.
"If I had seen a ghost at your age, I would've been scared out of my wits."
At their appearance, Max looked almost disappointed.
"You're not gross. Why are you wearing sheets?"
"We were trying to scare your brother."
"He's not my brother."
Nancy and Robin exchanged glances before the realization came onto them.
"How can you see us?" Robin asked. "How can you see us without the sheets, but no one else can?"
"Well," Max started, crossing her arms. "I read through that Handbook of the Recently Deceased you guys left out on the table. Smart move, by the way. It said that live people typically ignore the strange and unusual. I myself am strange and unusual."

don't touch that dial!
or;
the wandavision au
(ronance edition!)
Robin wakes up with Nancy Wheeler in her house. Her house. Not her parents. Hers. Nancy’s in the kitchen, in a dress and hair curled and pinned back in a way that Robin has never seen, already making a cup of tea (Robin hates coffee, but she doesn’t remember telling Nancy that…) and greets her with a, “Hi, Robbie,” and a quick kiss on the cheek. Robin freezes. Her stomach flip-flops and she feels her face warm and she’s not totally sure how to react without shattering whatever this is. So she answers with a weak, “Hi.” Somewhere in the back of her mind, something screams THIS ISN’T REAL. Duh. She gathered that already. But the problem is it’s not her voice in her skull telling her this. She doesn’t know who it is, or why they’re telling her information that she already knows. The biggest worry in her mind is that this isn’t her Nancy. Her Nancy, the real Nancy, would be fighting and kicking and screaming because this is not the life that Nancy wanted. Robin would know too, in-between their world saving adventures, Nancy told her what her future looked like, and being a ‘50s housewife was not one of them. Robin hates the ‘50s. She hates the way her hair is done and she hates the dress she’s been shoved into and she hates the canned laughter (seriously, can anyone else hear that?) and— “Robin?” “Yes, dear?” Robin answers without thinking, going along with whatever this illusion wants. Nancy’s frowns a moment, breaking the tight smile she had on her face, and briefly Robin wonders whether she’s aware of their current predicament, too. If Nancy’s aware like she is, and just simply playing along—just better at hiding it. It’s too risky though to outright ask her, so for now she’s just going to have to read her newspaper (that doesn’t have any articles written by Nancy—seriously?) and find a way to tune out that damned laugh track.

8. Uncanny & 9. Free Day & 10. Modern AU
8. Uncanny (Nancy)
(Ronance AU Part 1/3 - Inspired by Totally Killer)
Nancy went with Robin to the local Hawkins fun fair.
Nancy and Robin were about to go in the photobooth, when they saw a tall blonde girl in colorful clothing leave the attraction, looking very thrown.
"Don't go in there!" The girl warned.
"Why?" Nancy questioned.
"You look really familiar." Robin stared at the girl. "Are we related or something, or are you me from the future?"
Nancy noticed the uncanny resemblance between Robin and this stranger, who looked near identical to her.
"I don't know, maybe." The girl looked around at the strange new place. "I'm Eleanor Levetan, what year is this?"
"1986." Nancy answered, wondering why Eleanor looked so shocked, at what felt obvious.
"Maybe you really are from the future." Robin gasped. "I'm Robin, Robin Buckley. I don't understand how we look so alike and not related. I thought this would be some Back To The Future moment."
"I don't understand, I need to get back to my time." Eleanor sighed. "I have an internship in Hawkins in my time."
"What exactly is your time?" Robin asked.
"2022." Eleanor replied, Nancy and Robin were shocked by this.
"2022?! Wow I have so many questions, or is it better not to ask?" Robin wondered out loud. "Knowing about the future, might create problems in this timeline."
"Why can't you go back in the photobooth and go back to 2022? Is the photobooth broken?" Nancy asked, wanting to help.
"Yeah and there's a scary masked serial killer on the loose, like that movie Scream. I thought they might've chased me here." Eleanor replied. "Oh you don't have Scream yet, you'll love those movies."
"I'm so sorry this happened to you Eleanor." Nancy said sympathetically. "Let's sit and we can come up with a plan from there."
9. Free Day (Robin)
(Ronance AU Part 2/3 - Inspired by Totally Killer)
Robin couldn't believe they'd just met their own doppleganger.
While sitting on a bench with Nancy and Eleanor, discussing the plan, Robin couldn't help but admire how cool Eleanor was.
Eleanor had a pin with a lesbian flag on her jacket, that Drea had brought her. Eleanor also had a similar music taste to them, considering there was a near 40 years difference in their timelines.
"I'll go over the plan one more time." Nancy explained. "We'll get the kids help to fix the time machine, then we get Eleanor back safe."
"I can't ask you guys to do that." Eleanor replied worried. "You know there's a killer out for me in 2022?"
"It beats the Upside Down." Robin responded, then saw Nancy give her a look, prompting Robin to change the subject before Eleanor could question it.
"I trust Nancy, she's in charge." Robin smiled and confidently replied. "We've been places you wouldn't believe. We'll come prepared with weapons to defend ourselves against the killer."
"Thank you Robin." Nancy replied.
Nancy saw her younger brother Mike and his friends. Nancy convinced them to help, without following them to the future, by reluctantly agreeing to play D&D with them.
Robin went with Eleanor, as Eleanor introduced herself to the others. Dustin took the lead in attempting to fix the photobooth, fascinated by the time travel. Mike, Will and Lucas also inspected the machine. Eleven tried to help fix the photobooth with her powers.
Once the photobooth was fixed. Robin, Nancy and Eleanor thanked the party.
Later that evening, Robin, Nancy and Eleanor went back to the photobooth. Nancy with her gun, Robin with Steve's axe and Eleanor with Steve's bat. They time-travelled to 2022.
10. Modern AU (Nancy)
(Ronance AU Part 3/3 - Inspired by Totally Killer)
Nancy was cautious taking Eleanor back to where she was staying, but felt there was safety in numbers.
"What was your internship, Eleanor?" Nancy asked, still in patrol mode.
"It's for the Hawkins Post. I'm going to be a journalist for their website this summer." Eleanor answered. "It seems really cool, the boss, she said I have great potential."
Nancy was relieved at how much Hawkins Post had changed for the better, since she was an intern. Eleanor had a female boss and a chance to write there.
"I'm happy for you, it sounds so much better now, than it was in 85." Nancy said.
Suddenly, someone in a mask holding a knife, jumped out on Eleanor, before Nancy could finish her thought. Eleanor knocked the killer out and to the ground with the bat, she then took the mask off.
"Vecna!" Nancy screamed and shot him. Robin grabbed matches from their pocket and set Vecna on fire, watching him burn, as Nancy kept shooting Vecna to be sure he's really dead and not coming back.
Another masked killer suddenly grabbed Robin, as Robin attacked them with the axe and screamed. "Watch out, there's another one!!"
"Don't shoot!!" A familiar voice yelled, as he took his mask off. It was an older Will Byers, looking very upset.
"Will?!" All of them asked, shocked and in disbelief, how could Will hurt or even want to hurt anyone?
"I'm so sorry, he possessed me. You have to believe me." Will dropped the mask to the floor and looked at Nancy with tears in his eyes. "Please, I never want to hurt anyone, I just want to go home."
Nancy always trusted Will, his apology and reaction showed he wasn't in control, knowing how easily he'd been manipulated by the Mind Flayer and other creatures of the Upside Down in the past.
"I believe you." Nancy sighed.
"How do you know we can trust him?" Eleanor asked. "He just grabbed Robin and was wearing the mask, he could've killed us or hurt us, or others."
"He's Will Byers." Nancy smiled fondly. "My little brother's best friend, the sweetest boy I've ever known, who loved playing D&D with his friends. That's all I need to know."
Robin agreed with Nancy. "Like I said earlier, Nancy's in charge."
Eleanor still was unconvinced, but went with it. As Nancy and Robin took Eleanor and Will back to their homes, before going back in the photobooth, back home to Hawkins 1986.

ronancetober - day seven: under the sea [mermaid!robin buckley, pirate!nancy wheeler]
“She’s beautiful,” Robin says, the moment she sees the woman, standing on the deck of a large ship, her shirt loose and yellowed from the sun.
From beside her, Kate levels her with an unimpressed look.
“She’s human.”
Robin, however, is undeterred. She doesn’t know the woman’s name, doesn’t know much of anything about her, but she feels immediately drawn to her furrowing brow. And, well. Everything else about her. Robin doesn’t mean to get all romantic, knows Kate will judge her, but privately, she can’t help but feel some stronger connection than just her instinctual read of the stranger’s gorgeousness.
She keeps watching the ship, intrigued. A series of men seem to staff it, most of them taller than the woman, but Robin feels with bone-deep certainty that the woman runs things anyway.
Then, the woman turns, sharp, and despite the distance, Robin is sure the woman’s eyes land on her own. They’re blue as the ocean below her, and Robin ducks shyly back under the waves. She hears Kate scoff loudly behind her, but the sound of splashes lets her know the other mermaid is with her anyway.
Wow, Robin thinks, the image of the woman’s gaze burned into her brain. She doesn’t think she’s getting this out of her system, much as it pains her friends.
