It’s Trans Awareness Week y’all!

Hey folks. Awhile back I wrote that my girlfriend and I were looking for a place to live in the NY area. Well…that didn’t end up happening in time. Household pressures were mounting and taking a toll on our mental and even to some extent physical health. (Stress is a hell of a drug.) So in the end we’ve had to move to Colorado for the time being to regroup and figure out our next plan. It isn’t viable long-term, but it is for now and that’s what we’ve had to run with.

The kick in the teeth has been…well, expense. We had to actually *move* via plane and I don’t own a lot of stuff and no furniture (not actually having a place of my own to live for a long time kind of did that) but it still added up to paying for a lot of checked luggage and the like. We’re now in a space where we’re a solid amount of time between now and end of pay period and still haven’t handled things like groceries to eat until then.

If anyone can help out at all, even just boosting the message, it’s always appreciated.

Monday, November 4th: Hello everyone, I’m Gemma and sincerely apologize to be asking for help again but, I still desperately need help with my bills and heavy debt due to not having income.

As most of you are already aware, I have been struggling financially for quite some time due to my welfare benefits (U.C & Housing Benefit) being revoked, under the UK’s controversial changes to how benefits are assessed and assigned. And due to my mental health and some unfortunate DWP mess-ups, my benefits have been on and off sanctions for over a year now.

And in my previous post, I explained that I was waiting to receive the results of the medical assessment that I attended in late September through the DWP. I am hoping that the medical will fix my benefits and offer me more assistance as I am unable to work due to my persistent low mood and extreme fatigue.

This has made it incredibly difficult to survive each month, and with no income, I’ve been relying on the kindness of others to get by and I constantly have to decide on getting food or paying bills, leaving me in heavy debt. I haven’t been able to get groceries for this month. 

I currently don’t have any finances to pay anything, and I’m quite literally tearing my hair out in frustration as not only do I need help to pay off my overdue bills but I also owe over £800 in debt to creditors, tax and other bills that have built up from the past few months, and I also need help to get through the winter months as I haven’t been able to get any new clothes at all for this winter. I need tops, bottoms, socks, jumpers, blankets, etc, and I have created a wishlist with some items.

If anyone could spare any amount to help me get things, even if it’s just £1/$1/€1, it would literally save my life, and sharing definitely helps just as much as donations. Nobody is obligated in any way to donate or buy anything off my wishlist if they can’t or don’t want to, I know we’re all struggling.
