red — trigger warning for SH

growing up, red had always been my favorite color

red is striking and energetic,

connected to love and vitality.

it’s everywhere if you take the time to look

roses and ladybugs,

sunsets and mushrooms,

leaves falling from the trees in autumn,

and the lipstick some of the most gorgeous women on earth apply each day.

all around us is the reminder of love,

the reminder to love.

but at one point, red had gained a new meaning to me.

a connection to pain and suffering,

as i would watch the cherry red drip from my arms

a connection to the sorrow i would feel

as my i saw how the bandages soaked up what i’d done.

it resembled what nearly killed me.

and for a while, i hated the color red.

but then someone showed me the beauty of red once again,

the beauty i had once forgotten.

the beauty of the color that shows love and strength.

i’ve been reminded how red,

the color i had begun to detest,

shows me that i am loved

and that i am strong.

growing up, red had always been my favorite color

and it is even today

as it is the reminder of my strength for getting through my toughest battles.

i hold so much love for you in my heart, but each day i break a little more, into bits and pieces, for i know that feeling will never be returned

the stars in the sky, oh how they shine

billions, trillions adorning the night sky

providing the world a beautiful scene

but, dear, you must know,

for the stars to shine, they each must burn

every little star must burn for their beauty,

they must burn to give the people their light

my star, you must know,

before you ever dare begin to doubt

every little star must burn

before they shine

~ ✨ ~ the way i view this poem is in the perspective of a mother, speaking to her young child and essentially saying that as the child grows older, they will go through tough or odd times. but that they must not worry, as they will get through it, and continue to shine through life ~ ✨ ~

You are kidnapped by the villain regularly, but you’re starting to look forward to it. You know they won’t hurt you, and are simply being dramatic. It also doesn’t help that you are the only person they ever kidnap. This time, the hero doesn’t bother trying to save you.
