A Letter for You: Fellow Foodies
Dear Fellow Bloggers,
I've noticed numerous blog posts about food with no given details! There are no recipes attached whatsoever; not even details about where we can purchase the food item itself. The picture could be so captivating, but with no recipes attached.. How can we truly enjoy and understand your point of view? A personal recipe or an attached YouTube video will be so helpful! This saddens me because what if I'd want to recreate that recipe? Or check to see if it's available for purchase? I truly am thankful for the blogs that provides recipes, because it completes the whole fun to blogging about food! I guess some wouldn't want to share their secret recipes, but that all depends on you. I would love to share my recipes with fellow bloggers, because other people can find joy in cooking it. Knowing that, it'll warm my heart.
I just hope it's the same for other bloggers, because who wouldn't want to share the joy in cooking delicious foods? It will make you feel better once they start complimenting you and your recipes! We shouldn't be greedy about these stuff, because everyone just wants to enjoy life with good food. And who knows? Maybe others will find ways to better your recipe and improve it! We can all put in our kind suggestions/criticism to help better ourselves as cooks. It is better to expand this foodie community rather than being selfish, we should all help each other out!
Sincerely, Your fellow foodie, Raymalyn.

if you know, you know. taho is a sweet dessert that's commonly sold in the morning streets of the Philippines & it's made up of silken tofu, sago pearls, and brown sugar syrup. you will hear taho vendors in the morning yelling out "TAHOOOOOOOO!" around the streets; usually sells around 20 php (40 cents!) for a cup.

A Word From This Week’s Guest: Trinity Cruz
Tumblr media
Food has always been an essential part of my everyday life, as it should be for humans, but some people eat food just to eat it and others eat it to genuinely enjoy it. I happen to be part of the population that genuinely enjoys food. Since I was a little girl, my mom would always tell my siblings and I to “savor the flavor’ with every dish that we are given. The reason I love food is not only because of the flavor but because the memories I have with certain dishes. When I think of gelato, I immediately remember the trip with my family to Italy and how gelato was literally the best thing about the country. Whenever I go to America, my family likes to cook island food and it is honestly the best-feeling in the world. Food is an amazing way to express different cultures and it can also be a way for people to connect through food. As much as I love food, it is not only about eating the food but making the food is what makes it meaningful. As Raymalyn has mentioned before, when you cook, you must cook with love and that is something I believe everyone must live by. If you do not cook with love, then the food becomes meaningless and ends up being a basic meal instead of a heart-felt dish. Knowing people put effort and heart to make your food is better than eating the most expensive meal but it was made with no heart. Food is not always about your basic nutritious needs but the taste, thought, and meaning each dish holds.

Since this is where we come to share our baking/cooking shame, I made the Disney churros recipe and added my own chocolate dipping sauce. Worth. It.

Me: I'm not sure, but anywhere is fine.
Shaina: Try to think of something, so I know the route I'll use.

Shaina: I don't know...

korea 2018
One experience I'll never forget was my trip to Korea back in 2018. I was so excited to go, because if you know me... I'm pretty much a Korean at heart! Lol. I couldn't wait to see the beautiful scenery, but what I was really excited for; was the food. Traveling is fun because you get to explore other countries, but I think eating their local food is the second thing that excites me; it makes your trip even better.  Before even going on that trip, I watched so many vlogs and videos on the must-try street foods/authentic Korean dishes. 4 days was pretty short, but I made sure it was worthwhile. The most authentic foods I tried were: bibimbap, gamja-jeon, sikhye, soondae, and jjajjangmyeon. Most of these may not sound familiar to you guys, so feel free to search it up, haha. I just know that I bought everything that caught my eye. It made my whole Korea experience better, because I was eating good food. Good food makes everything better. I'll be honest, those four days went by so fast, sadly. I miss it so much and I can't wait to go back for another trip. After 2 years of further research and vlog-watching, I definitely have a longer list of different food/places I'd want to go to. Korean food is a must and I recommend expanding your palate, because you won't regret it. If any of you plans a trip to Korea soon, (after this pandemic) I'll be glad to help with food recommendations!
