Nice days mean a fire at the homestead. With fires come smores. The store was out of graham crackers so I improvised with thin and crispy chocolate chip cookies.

You know when you’re up at 3:30 feeding the baby and you decide you’re hungry? Then you do chores around the homestead and you decide you’re really hungry? No? Just me?
Well it’s possible that at 3:30 this morning I decided to start working on a chocolate chip muffin recipe. Hopefully it will be delicious to make the lack of sleep worth it.

I have come to realize that people are cruel. If they see something they dont like on social media instead of just scrolling along they must make sure you know their dislike. In the process becoming nasty and bringing down the owner of the post as well.

I have realized the husband and I are not normal anymore. We both consider going to look at a goat a date as long as the kids are quiet in the back seat.

So I just saw an article on Facebook about how raising backyard chickens is taking off due to food uncertainty during the Covid pandemic. My only hope is that the people who are randomly ordering chickens or other poultry take the time to research the amount of work that goes into it.
While chickens are the easiest homestead animal to get started with they also open up the gateway to many people getting other animals. In todays trying times my concern is not only people getting sick because of improper care methods but animals getting sick because people have no idea what they are doing. So if you dont want to wash your hands now because of Covid please do not get any sort of farm animal. Hand washing is an important practice on even the smallest homestead to keep everyone happy and healthy.
