Character // toro, ash, echo
Toro , toro was her birth name. the name given to her by her parents. it comes from toronto. up until she was eight this was the only name she had imagined herself being called however after the attack on her village and the deaths of her parents she was brought to azgeda’s capital as the only survivor.
Ash , queen nia gave her this name immediately after she was brought to troit. her village was cruelty set up in flames and she was named for such event. nia had already planned for her to become a spy as no one knew who she was, because of that she would never bare azgeda scars. however nia strongly believed it was important to never forget the pain of the past. to never forget where you came from so she became known as ash.
Echo , her final name. an unexpected one at that, after she killed the original echo she took her name, again so that she could never forget what she had done. echo still believes in the azgeda way of life and will never go back to using toro even now that she has scars.
spy’s always kept the names they used while undercover as it was their version of scars. scars were never used for aesthetics they were there physical reminders of who someone is and where they came from.

Character // echo
echo with never go back to using the name ash or any other name as i don’t believe ash was her birth name either. azgeda warriors scar their own faces so they don’t forget who they are or where they came from so from an azgedian standpoint I don’t think she would ever go back to using ash or any previous name as her own. i believe she would see that as erasing or attempting to forget everything that she’s done in between the names of ash and echo.
that said i can one hundred percent see her telling more people about her past, not strangers of course but people she’s close to. over the years she has truly come to terms with who she is and what she has done. she has nothing to hide.

Character // nsfw a-z , ontari
ontari is a selfish lover but i’d like to clarify that in my verse she is not a rapist. i hated everything about that scene and i hated even more that it was never acknowledged inside or outside of the show as what it was.
O , oral ( preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc )
she doesn’t give it. ontari doesn’t do anything sexually that doesn’t give her pleasure and seeing her partner’s enjoyment has never been something that turned her on. that said she definitely enjoys having someone go down on her.
N , no ( something they wouldn’t do, turn offs )
having her partner be dominant over her would never happen. after how she grew up it’s just not in her nature and not something that could ever turn her on. the slightest lack of control stresses and angers ontari to much for her to ever enjoy being submissive.
T , toys ( do they own toys? do they use them? on a partner or themselves? )
not exactly an option in the world of the 100 so i’ll jump to her modern verse briefly. toys are more something she’ll use on herself, by herself but when they are used with a partner they remain as something used on her. never has she used a toy on someone else, coming from a place of uninterest as she just doesn’t get any pleasure from her partners enjoyment.
A , aftercare ( what are they like after sex )
aftercare is nonexistent for ontari. it’s never been something she’s interested in for herself and not anything she’s even considered for her partners. after sex she’ll usually just leave immediately, sometimes she’ll fall asleep while they’re still around.
R , risk ( are they game to experiment, do they take risks, etc
she’ll experiment but generally speaking ontari knows what she likes. her partner experimenting is much more risky though as the slightest dissatisfaction is enough to piss ontari off. i think it goes without saying what pissing ontari off does for a person, even someone she’s been intimate with.
I , intimacy ( how are they during the moment, romantic aspect )
the “romantic aspect” is non existent when it comes to sex with ontari. she doesn’t believe in love and isn’t interested in romance even during sex. the only kissing she does results in hickeys and to put it in simple terms, she has rough sex or she doesn’t have sex.

Clan Building // royalty
the king/queen and the royal family were at the very top of azgeda everyone knew them and feared them. the royal guard were right below them but still the most respected warriors in azgeda. while azgeda leadership is undoubtedly a dictatorship the king or queen do take their people’s opinions into consideration, inside the throne room, there is a large rectangular fire pit in the middle of the room. at the end of the fire pit stands a throne reserved of course for the king/queen. smaller chairs are set along the sides of the fire pit, these are for ambassadors, advisors and war chiefs.
becoming king/queen in azgeda culture takes more than being the eldest child, all the current rulers children have an equal chance to take the throne after their parents death. royal children are raised similar to how nightbloods are raised, (this is why roan was able to fight as well as he did against lexa and luna.) when the current ruler dies their children are put in a conclave together, winner takes the throne. rulers are expected to have many children leaving the best possible warrior to take over azgeda.

Moodboard // modern day echo
echo grew up in the foster care system after her childhood home caught fire, she was the only one who made it out; leaving her with vivid memories of her father’s desperate screams and her mother’s sobbing. she entered foster care at eight and from there she was frequently moved from house to house, but never adopted. however she did spend ages fifteen to eighteen in the care of a woman named nia who already has three sons of her own, echo got along well with her sons but overall she suffered years of abuse and neglect in that home, it shaped her as a person as she learned quickly that she was better off staying quiet.
now echo works as a tattoo artist and lives with her boyfriend; bellamy. she gets distant sometimes but bellamy understands that she can’t help it. she’s still in contact with one of nia’s sons (roan) but didn’t keep contact with the other two after aging out of foster care.

Character // ontari
azgeda had one of the lowest counts of nightbloods being born among all 12 clans and they hadn’t had an azgeda commander in decades. when ontari’s parents found she had been born with nightblood they brought her to queen nia. the queen had originally planned on training ontari along side her three songs until word spread about the ages of the other nightblood noviciates, realising ontari would be much younger than the rest the queen saw this as a disadvantage and decided to change that.
growing up next to no one knew what ontari was, the queen couldn’t risk word about her nightblood getting out from a spy or escaped prisoner so ontari was disguised as the queen’s personal servant. however when they weren’t in public ontari’s training was cruel and non-stop. she was never allowed to play or speak out of term and would be punished for losing a sparring match, even if she had been sparring against one of the queen’s son or someone much older and bigger than her, yet since this is all ontari had ever known she was incredibly loyal to her queen and truly believed everything she was doing was in ontari’s best interest.
ontari is sixteen by the time she’s brought to polis, ontari knew she would win the conclave but she had been waiting all her life to become commander and she couldn’t wait any longer. this is also why she decides to lie about having the flame, waiting for clarke to return seemed unbearable. in the time it takes for clarke to be found by roan with the flame another nightblood that originally ran was lexa’s conclave returns to polis and challenges ontari. she wins and becomes commander.

World Building // scars
most often azgeda warriors will scar their faces when their baseline training is over (since there training is never really over), other times they’ll do it after something traumatic happens or after their first kill, it’s a personal thing and there are no rules to it. they do it to remind themselves of the pain so that they never forget who they are or where they came from.
unfortunately the scars make it pretty easy to identify a member of azgeda, roan went so far as to hiding them with mud when he was traveling through trigeda territory to find clarke, niylah's family had to live in the outskirts of trigeda territory so that no one would see her mother's scars and spies never scar their faces. that said the rest of azgeda slicks the sides of their hair back and wears their scars proudly.
