I'm normally a one-game kinda gal, so as I play BG3, my interest in MagiReco wanes. It hasn't really done that for a while-- I almost missed playing a few times and one day completely forgot to do my dailies, which I've never done since I started playing on NA back in 2019.

I don't think I'm gonna leave the game or anything, it's just weird when something you love loses its grip on you a little bit. But I think that taking a break is also kinda healthy? Even if I'm still logging on and shit. More like... a mental break from my obsession with this wretched game

While today marks the end of Magitober, it marks the beginning of Magivember for me. I'm working on my first entry, and it's already 6pm, so that's fun. All through these last couple months, and especially through October, my RLS has been gradually worsening, and spreading into my arms, and now my hands. Holding a pencil without shaking is legitimately becoming difficult actually, so the quality of my drawings have gone downhill, and it's taking me twice as long to finish one. I doubt I'll be posting most of my entries on their respective days, due to the aforementioned difficulties. I'm very appreciative of @magitober for allowing the challenge to be extended, and I swore to myself I'd finish the whole prompt this year, so I won't give up! But I don't know how long this is gonna take at this point, I might end up moving into December at this rate. Even while typing this up, my hands are shaking a bit, and hitting the wrong keys >.> This is sorta just a ramble post, but I wanted to clarify why I haven't been doing too much on here, and why I'm only starting Magitobervember now.

Anyways, here's to Magitober, to Halloween, to Karin herself, and to me finding a goddamned neurologist.

As someone free-to-play, who generally rolls for units that I like instead of strictly optimal ones (and therefore don't have many of the greatest units and even fewer full-slotted,) I actually DESPISED Matching last time. I hated having to watch my team be brutally slaughtered because I simply wasn't strong enough to handle a five-girl team of optimal units, when I could barely get a team to survive one turn. So many times, I know I could have won if I'd been able to play manually… The only thing that saved the event for me was the innogem fragments, and knowing that I have absolutely no way to get the two from the rewards this time makes me extremely embittered, especially since I could have desperately used those gems too. One the one hand, I'd love if Matching never came back, but I know that'd upset a lot of people, because I seem to be in the minority here of hating Matching, and preferring the original Ranked system. On the other hand though, I really want a shot at those innogem fragments like everyone else, and knowing that the last straw was players gunning for the top rank for the sake of the rewards and not for the title itself (well, most of them,) hurts even worse than the original assumption that everyone was just trying to get to the top rank for a second for pure bragging rights.

I've despised this event from the start, because I knew there were gonna be balancing issues (devs, you HAVE to nerf Akumura already, or she's gonna nuke all the players out of the game before you can released the next 'press-here-to-win button' unit,) but I never expected it to fall to structural issues. Looking back at it, it makes a semblance of sense that the next round was gonna have this issue, but I never expected to see a self-inflicted serverwide-DDOS. In a way it's sorta funny actually. Kinda.

No wonder the game only has this type of ranked every other time.

Yeaaah I had been wondering why we got the old ranked in between, and maybe it's because they wanted more time to stall off some issues.

It should be noted that the first version of this new ranked version also started with some problems-- a bunch of characters had more 2 actives in addition to their actual se active.

But I think that these massive issues we saw today didn't occur last time because no one realized how important playing at the very start would be-- most people thought the whole "spend magia stones" to fight extra battles was a stupid idea after all, up until it became known that you could earn a lot of magia stones by spending a few.

I'm not really sure how they'd fix this kind of mode so that these issues don't keep occurring. Even if they manage to fix the server issue, I think that the event has a design flaw in making people need to log on asap to have the best/easiest chance of rewards.

Personally auto-ranked was a ton of fun for me, and I hope they find a way to make it playable again. It was probably some of the most fun I've had in this game for a long time-- watching my characters make dumbass decisions on auto took out the sting of losing, and it was kind of a relief to just need to win battles without going through a stupid amount of rules to earn points. I really hope that this mode can be saved because I loved it when it was there. Even this morning, despite all the issues, I had a blast when it was actually playable.

That said, I'm also a whale with some really excellent units so it should come as no surprise that I enjoyed an event basically made to cater to whales like me.

Well now I'm minorly salty that I didn't gun for the gems and stuff on day 1 ;-; I could have gotten those five tickets. I wonder how much we lost as the players who didn't start our matches yet. Maybe the devs are starting to realize that Matching is fundamentally difficult to handle without giving the Whales too much of an edge? I doubt many casual players were the ones gunning for top ranks at the beginning. Anyways, here's to f4 screwing up the next Matching

I should have sent this message at the start of the month, but. I've been having an extreme struggle health-wise this month, and I haven't been able to complete really any of the prompts yet. So I request, would using these prompts and completing them next month be also acceptable? I know it's silly to move it into November, but I really love this challenge and want to complete it myself, even if just for Karin's sake.
