A BeatNeku comic [PREVIEW]

[PREVIEW] - End I've been sitting on these pages for nearly 2 years. I decided to share what I got done, since life, work and parenthood just got aaall in the way.

I had a poll a while back, asking what kinda comic people would like to see, and a sp!cy BeatNeku comic came out on top. I would LOVE finishing this fancomic. The script is done and so are the thumbnails for chapter 1. There are 3 chapters in total (the first being cute and gushy).

I'm just in a time pinch and have to focus on income TvT

Regardless, I'm extremely proud of how these pages came out. I got to draw the whole NEO crew, and properly played around with B/W coloring this time. This is a ship I haven't really explored and it's just so damn wholesome. I love idiots with hearts of gold sm 😭💜

this detail bc like- i know some things had to be cut, i get that, but they didn't just straight up cut it they replaced it with beat being like "winning [the game] is my new dream"

#twewy #I've played both but I'm not answering #there's some good arguments for him initially being human its most likely correct #but. not certainly and my experience with joshua has enough curveballs that I wouldn't bat an eye if it wasn't the case #and. there's some BAD arguments too. Or at least extremely frustrating implied tangentials.#Like being an angel means he's no longer deserving of empathy. He MUST be the easily relatable or at least recognizable depressed teenager #or nothing works #which makes me tear my hair out because it flies in the face of the theme of accepting and celebrating differences.#My thoughts are a mess so skipping ahead #I kinda land on look at Joshua's feelings and actions rather than quibble over metaphysical definition #there's no denying his sense of isolation #Yeah it could easily arise from a human upbringing seeing ug. That's the best supported case.#but it's not like joshua's position is something so unreachable by something 'inhuman'#which seems to be a common presumption. one I can't help bristling at.#actually I saw one concept about end of eden being about joshua becoming composer and I *like* that position of balanced between mythic #and human. Do I think it's canon? Nah; just fun #tldr human is a reasonable conclusion to come to but Joshua's surprised me too much to just embrace that #and initially being something else DOES NOT invalidate his character.#and I'd rather look at what he does/did than worry about what he is/was metaphysically #joshua kiryu #unpopular opinion I knnnnnoooooowwwww
