i’m seeing my friends tomorrow, they know i’m invested in politics, but when i explain to them my reasons they just throw back “well i think both candidates are bad”. and yes. both candidates are bad but GOD do you not want rights!!!!???
one specific friend of mine is queer, and alternative, and so against old white racist men, but saying kamala is EQUALLY as bad as trump is a gross comparison
yes. she’s still not the best candidate, but it’s the best we’re gonna get. out of this.
saying you “don’t want your medical rights taken away” is crazy. because you DONT BELIEVE IN VACCINES? you don’t want to be forced to get proven vaccines bc you “don’t think they work”. and and trump is better for the taxes. NO HES NOT. GOD. NO HES NOT.
i said, “well higher taxes are better than being killed for being queer right…” and she said she’d rather be dead. and i get it, we’re depressed, but going off a LIE is not alright.
i’m hoping i can talk to them tomorrow about why im so stressed about this election. i hope i can make them understand before they shoot it down because they don’t want to talk about it. i know it’s not a fun thing to talk about, but god it’s so necessary in these times.

"We can disagree and still be friends."
Yeah, maybe about spending or foreign affairs, not about fundamental rights to exist or control yourself.
If you vote against the rights of others, fuck you deeply and forever.

Guys.
Nevada and Hawaii are gray now, but they’re going blue. They’ve been blue for the last four elections.
Minnesota, Maine, and New Hampshire leaning blue and will stay that way.
The swing states: Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin. Remember, red mirage, blue shift. The blue votes can still catch up, and there’s a lot of votes they still have to count.
Arizona and Georgia might go red, but it is insanely close in Arizona. I saw that state go blue for a couple of minutes.
As for Alaska, I’m sure it’ll go red, as always. But they only have three electoral votes. And while it’ll be close, I don’t think it’ll be that close.
It’s okay to be scared, but there is still hope.

okay. ok. I'm totally just riling myself up even more. but why is this the only election I've ever been so stressed about.
if trump gets in office I'll either end up a corpse or I will literally just run away to canada. fuck it I'd probably take britain over this.
I wish I could do something but I'm only 17. I can't do anything and I wish I could. I feel pressured to have done something but legally I cannot. do. shit.
all I can do is sit and hope I don't die from a heart attack in my sleep.
this may be one of the only genuine panic attacks I've ever had in my entire life.

🌸 This is an election day self-care checkpoint. 🌸
Reminder that it's not healthy to stress-watch endless election coverage. It won't change the results. Save your energy and strength for any potential fights ahead.
Take a deep breath Simple floor stretch routine
Kitty livestream
Live aquarium cam w/ sharks!
Another live aquarium cam (kelp forest)
Cozy cabin time
Aurora + soft music
Snow falling on a lake (with ducks!)
Other suggestions: watch a movie, take a walk or bike ride, play with your pet if you have one, spend time with a family member, go for a drive, cook or bake something, do a craft, do some early holiday decorating, find a nice place to sit outside if weather allows, read a book, take a bath, organize something, hit the gym, have a hot drink, write a letter, journal, take a nap, go to a museum or park, color or draw, work on a puzzle.
If you have a favorite video or online de-stress activity, feel free to add to this pot.

at this point we should seriously give every other country an electoral vote. really, they all deserve it with how much anything the us does is going to end up becoming their problem.
