My icon is a screenshot of the distance from Cornwall to a town mentioned in Matilda by Roald Dahl. It's from an SCP theory I made.
Basically, in SCP-4231 (TW: SA, read at own risk), the GOC (the United Nations' official Delta Greenish organization, but Scientia Potentia Est) was doing a project in the '80s where they committed genocide on reality benders (which brought the average lifespan of a reality bender at that time to 8 years old). The SCP article is set in '80s North Access, Cornwall, detailing Dr. Alto Clef's backstory, that GOC project, and the Cornwall Incident (the whole town of North Access got boiled alive in a flood).
In Matilda, the book mentions TV dinners and other things that I have to check the original post for, but those mentions clue the readers in that it was set in the '80s-'90s. Assuming that Matilda's telekinesis counts as reality bending, she would be targeted by the GOC. Therefore, I'm glad Roald Dahl cut the book off at the happy ending.
hello I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. The anonymity of tumblr means that I associate my idea/image of you with your icon and sometimes I look at people’s icons and I’m like ‘hmmm….what is that and why?’
so pls reblog this and comment in the tags the meaning behind your icon and why you chose it. this is a social experiment. do it for science pls.

How would Among Us' Hide n' Seek Mode work irl?
In my opinion, I think it would work like lycanthropy, but it's way less frequent and there's not a lot of transformation that happens.
This is my bean Prizemercy (from the hit blog @prizemercy-of-the-skeld, except not a Scientist) undergoing the "transformation" into a rampaging impostor.
My theory is that in the Miran equivalent of Mesolithic times, each role (e.g. Engineer, Tracker) had a role to play in society. I call this The Village™.
In this Village™...
Crewmates were just plain citizens
Engineers were the ones coming up with new ideas, like inventions
Scientists were the doctors/healers
Trackers were the law enforcement (or something)
The historians are still out on Noisemakers
Conversely:
Impostors were warriors/hunters
Shapeshifters were actors/spies
Phantoms were assassins/did stealth missions
Now I want to shed some light on the "warrior/hunter" thing. Impostors (like all kinds of impostors) were really good at hunting/fighting. So good, in fact, that evolution gifted them with a special mindset they could go into to "lock in" (as the kids say) on their target or prey. This mindset, henceforth called The Mindset™, enhanced their reaction time, their perceptiveness, and their awareness of the faint psychological bond that's theorized to exist between all known creatures in the galaxy, which explains the Seek map during the Final Hide.
However, with new technology (including space travel), the need to hunt and fight became near obsolete (unless we're counting the Miran military). This doesn't mean that The Mindset™ disappeared, though. It just simply laid in wait, becoming more uncontrollable, until finally, it became a whole new persona that lived inside the minds of impostors, emerging on an unpredictable cycle to be able to hunt again. Its usual prey?
Crewmates.

Matilda theory
Spoilers of SCP and Matilda (the book) under the cut
May I present the evidence, first from Matilda:
Matilda Wormwood is telekinetic due to all of her pent-up mental energy.
According to Study.com, Matilda is set in an English village
Since the book was published in 1988 and it mentions a small TV and TV dinners, it's probably also set in the '70s-'80s.

Now, the second part of my theory. These facts have been taken off the SCP Wiki, specifically from the article SCP-4231. (TW: SA, read at your own risk)
The GOC once launched a project named after a biblical character who is mentioned only twice. The project's aim was to liquidate every Type Green (reality bender) they found.
In the peak of this project (the 1980s), the GOC killed off ~75% of all Type Greens.
Usually, the average lifespan of a Type Green is 19 years old, because they usually just /gamemode creative at that age. During the project, however, the average age of a Type Green was 8, because that's when the GOC found them.
Also, this screenshot showing the distance from Cornwall to Buckinghamshire (it's about 4 hrs by car in the 2020's):

THEREFORE
Either Ms. Honey/Mrs. Phelps was part of the Serpent's Hand and took Matilda to the Wanderer's Library to keep her safe, or Matilda didn't end very happily.
