The fairies of the valley.

King twinkle.

Today was not only Prince Twinkle’s twenty first birthday, but it was also his coronation day. His grandmother had given up her royal status, and since his parents were seen as unfit royals and were forced to step down as royals, the title of king immediately went to the first born heir, Prince Twinkle. Today was about him, the whole valley would be watching, judging, wondering what he would do first as king. He hated this.

The only good thing about today was that he would be able to celebrate with his friends, Cookie, Tonks, Cloud, Honey, Ivy, Sugar, his brother and sister, Prince Gemini and Princess Angel. His parents and grandmother would also be attending.

He sighed, having no idea if he would even make a good king. He tied the last button on his red suit, staring at the mirror. “It’s time, your majesty” he heard one of the guards standing outside his room about. He lightly grabbed at the bottom of his white fairy wings as he left.

“You can do this” he whispered, before entering through the chapel doors, his breath hitched at the sight of the 4,000 people inside. At the alter he saw his family and the priest. His friends were sitting in the second row, smiling and waving.

Stone faced, he started to make his way up the isle, smiling nervously once he reached the top. On his right were his mother Lucy, father Robert and grandmlther Bow, to his left were his younger brother and sister, and finally right in front stood the priest, holding the royal chalice. The priest began the ceremony, “your royal highness, do you promise to protect this kingdom as long as you shall love?”, “yes” Twinkle responded, “do you promise to stay true to your word and your people?” Once again yes.

“Now finally, Prince Twinkle, for as long as you shall love, or as long as you shall reign, without hesitation, you must protect, feed, shelter, love and care for the fairies of the valley, do you understand?”, Twinkle gulped, “yes, I do” he muttered. “Very well then” the priest handad him the chalice, “drink from this, and you will become our king” the priest finished with a smile. He gagged as he brought the drink to his lips, the disgusting taste making him want to vomit, “tastes like poison” he said in his head.

Never the less, he gulped it down in one go, still not sure if being king was for him. As he finished, he tuned around to the cheers of the people, to the cheers of his people. He smiled for a moment. Only a moment. Within a second everything went to shit.

In once second everyone was applauding and smiling. In the next, there were screams of fear as bombs had hit the valley. The king looked around as people tried to find loved ones underneath the rubble, some were successful, others were not. He rushed around to help others, but he failed to even lift another fairy up, his stick like arms had failed him, he stood at the door to the chapel, he couldn’t make sense of anything, he didn’t know who anyone was, hell, he barely knew who he was. He had already failed as a king before his first day was even over.
