today, i learned that nathan chen is not only an incredible skater who has a 4.0 gpa at yale and is trained in ballet and gymnastics but can also play the acoustic and electric guitar

why is figure skating so unpredictable? andrei mozalev and shun sato had very mediocre season debuts and daniel grassl is struggling but then mark kondratiuk, who no one has really heard of, snatches a senior medal and is actually really good??? making predictions is so hard for this sport.

and then in the free everyone’s clean and nathan sets a new world record for the free/combined score and then yuzu goes right after and sets another new new world record for the free/combined score and wins by like two points so its super super close

i really want yuma to medal at worlds so we get another adorably awkward 4cc awards ceremony with him and yuzu but with twice the fun bc nathan

i was today years old when i realised that jason and yuzu were born only eight days apart.

fine i will go and watch 4cc to prepare for worlds despite having seen this thing like four times already. if worlds is as fun as this was i will be full on good figure skating food.
