I made another boy (months ago). It’s not as fanciful or nice as Emilio’s post, but this is Cecil Mugwort 🌿 Twisted from Cedric the Sorcerer from “Sofia the First.” Apologies for my handwriting.

When I watched that dang show making a twst Cedric was always on the back-burner as kinda a joke idea, but it never actually came to fruition with flying colors ‘till I learned NRC sophomores share a room with one other person. Then came the painful question of “oh god can u imagine how miserable Silver’s roommate must be with all those dang alarm clocks-“ THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE USELESS SOFIA KNOWLEDGE CAME FLOODING BACK—

The amount of shenanigans that can fit into this rat is insane (so much so I couldn’t fit it here). I hope u like him as much as I’ve been quietly invested in the background the last gajillion months.

The Story of a Little Flounder 🦋

Irving was just a kid when he first fell in love.

He could never breathe at home, his dad was always there yelling at him.

“Hear this!” Or “I need to know this!”

Occasionally he’d try “Let’s go on a trip!” But Irving knew that the message was the same. He just wanted to use Irving’s signature spell to hear anything useful to collect debts and whatever else he did.

The details didn’t matter, what mattered was that Irving had to do it or he’d face his father’s punishment. And nothing was worse to him.

It wasn’t unusual for his dad to bring home guests, it was more unusual for them to leave.

Until one time a man came with two kids around Irving’s age.

His dad nudged him towards them, almost as a peace offering, but the two boys didn’t notice him at all, engrossed in whatever game they were playing.

Irving was entranced by it. The smiles on their faces as they twisted and turned in the water. He had never seen smiles that bright before.

“Hey! Stop staring!” One of them yelled at Irving after some time.

Irving jumped, but by the look of the other’s face, both boys had noticed him a long time ago.

Irving swam closer to them so he wouldn’t yell and disturb his dad. “I’m sorry.”

The boys were almost mirrors of each other, the black streaks in their hair being the only difference between the two forms. They looked like family.

“Irving!” His dad yelled from inside.

He knew that tone. It meant he needed to hear something from someone who owes him.

Both boys looked at his shivering form with curiosity.

The brother who hadn’t spoken yet shot Irving a quick smile and turned to the other brother. “Hey Floyd, we should play that game again.”

The other brother- Floyd- grinned manically and laughed.

Meanwhile the one with the suggestion grabbed Irving’s hand and started to swim away.

“Wait no- I have to-“ Irving started to protest, but the boy put a finger on his lips and suddenly Floyd became extra loud behind them.

Irving resigned himself to his fate and allowed the moray to tug him along until they found a small cave.

“Let’s hide here, they’ll never find us,” the moray giggled.

“Why did you bring me here?” Irving asked.

He shrugged. “You looked like you wanted to leave and we were getting bored.”

“You did all of that- Out of boredom?”

“Of course. We’re not even meant to be here, you know, we snuck away.”

Made sense. The people his dad met with never brought any kids.

The moray studied Irving closely. “Hey, maybe we should teach you how to escape your parents. We’re masters at it.”

Irving had never considered going against his father but in that moment he just nodded uncontrollably. “Please!”

The moray chuckled. “Sure, but you’re gonna have to keep us entertained from now on, what’s your name?”

His dad had always instructed him to never reveal his true name. He didn’t plan on going against that advice. “Leith.”

“Well Leith, I’m Jade. Nice to meet you.”

Irving’s cigarette went out on the sniffer as he breathed out the last of the smoke.

“Really? Must you?” The annoyed voice of Jade Leech reached across the lounge.

“If it bothers you so much, take me off the damn roster. I never wanted to work here to begin with.”

“Don’t lose your temper, Jade,” Azul reprimanded. “It’s not like you.”

It wasn’t like Jade really. He was patient and cunning when he wanted something but for some reason Irving seemed to annoy him to no end.

The thought only he did this to Jade made him strangely happy. Not that it was reciprocated of course.

Jade breathed out a sigh. “Irving, if you would please help clean the lounge, it would be most appreciated.”

Irving plugged his headphones in and wordlessly grabbed a broom to begin helping. It was what Jade wanted, of course, but Irving knew he liked it better when people hated work to having an indifference.

The days of sneaking out as Leith to see his little crush was gone along with his brown hair, bleached blond with blue highlights. The purity gone with the piercings, and the memories gone with his dad.

As far as Jade knew, Leith was dead. Irving couldn’t bring himself to correct him.

He couldn’t do it. Not when he had wasted tears on his fake gravestone. Not when the man clearly hated who he was now. And certainly not because it wouldn’t do a damn thing with his problem of unrequited love.

Irving was meant to have moved on Aby now, found a nice merman or an aeven a human at NRC, but instead he just kept thinking about the one he couldn’t have.

Some days of the week, when he asks hard enough he can get Idia to help him study. He appreciates his Housewardens help. He's like an Add-On to the Shroud Brothers.

Vil and Jamil look mean to him.

He once tried taking Malleus's Tamagotchi and it didn't end greatly on his part! He's scared of Diasomnia in general and that little incident didn't help.

Despite being smart for his age he's still a child, he has childish fear and childish pettiness. He'll act like a child because he is.

He chose Science Club because he didn't know what else to pick, he's scared there honestly.

I hate the way I drew the hair so much so one day I will re-draw him.
