So… I got a notification from the State Department at like 8 PM Pacific that my passport was approved, and I was quietly thankful and stunned bc my legal gender in Oregon is listed as X, or undeclared, and that's what's on my passport. I'm pretty sure someone(s) worked late to get the X passports done today.

I was already really grateful to whoever in the Seattle Passport Office worked late to get these things processed on the last Friday before That Man gets back into office... and then I got a notification that my passport shipped at fucking midnight Pacific and whoever got that shit out the door so it couldn't be picked up on Monday and like, denied and shredded?

They're my fucking hero.

Just in case any of you are confused, TikTok being banned and coming back not even 24 hours later with a giant "we thank President Trump" message is NOT a win. It's a huge red flag and a sign that this was a thousand percent planned.

It's okay if your art didn't come out how you wanted. Whether it's writing, fan art, personal art, w/e- you don't need to have perfect work to have a seat at the table.

I know sharing your art can feel extremely vulnerable, especially if you've struggled through parts of the process. Maybe that paragraph kinda fell apart in the middle, or that hand was awful to draw. But that human imperfection and earnestness is also part of what gives it meaning. There was a spark of inspiration powerful enough that you took the time to make something. That's beautiful.

So share the things you love and make things that make your heart sing. If it didn't come out quite how you wanted this time, that's okay. You can keep trying. Expression evolves with you and that's a wonderful thing. 💗

Does anybody else track their life though a series of obsessions? Like “ah yes, i remember that happening, i was obsessing over Star Gate Atlantis at the time,” or, “this was during my Supernatural era.” I can map out my whole life in this way.

When I was in Norway, our group spent a day at a ship restoration working museum. I was enthralled with the rope making process and spent a couple hours asking questions and watching them give demonstrations and work on making ropes by hand like this. The person who was giving the presentations told me that they had an open apprenticeship. I just sort of laughed and changed the subject…but sometimes I like to imagine there’s an alternate universe Rae out there who took the wild road on a whim and took that chance.

i'm just curious bc i'm watching How to Train Your Dragon and i always forget how happy and calm it makes me feel. i mean, i did name my cat after Toothless the dragon. but i also love Lion King, that's my Disney comfort movie. and my Ghibli comfort movie is Spirited Away. watching any of these when i'm in a foul mood or my anxiety is high always helps 🥰 but i watch them just for fun too, not only when i'm in a mood. what about you?

I really like hybridcalisthenics videos! They have such a friendly tone and the range of difficulties and progressions based on what you can do are beyond helpful. And! There’s an app! It’s just as friendly and wholesome as this clip, and is great for building habits. 100/10 recommend
