I know your askbox is swamped, but I wanted to give you a memorial artpiece I've been working on since the news broke. I picked my 3 favorite photos of Blue and digitally painted them.

Blue was a lovely bird. Thank you for sharing your birds with us. I especially love seeing them on my dash whenever you post them.

Cyborg 009 Graphics (Art Book)!

Finally made its way to my doorstep! So, this is a book that claims to compile all of Ishinomori’s Cyborg 009-related illustrations. Published in 2020 and as far as I know is still in print; I bought my copy from CDJapan. There are a LOT of illustrations and a lot of them are Joe, so I’m not going to get too far into it; print quality is pretty good, colors are vibrant, but not all the illustrations are presented as full pages or spreads which did disappoint me a little, especially with the ones that were obviously a larger size originally.

Here’s some favorites I picked out! In no particular order.

Seeing the old Pyunma designs do hurt a bit to look at, but… I guess I’ll live.

You know what WAS missing though? Despite the other Jun-related Cyborg 009 illustrations making it in here??

This one??? Wonder why… okay it was probably an accidental omission, but that makes me wonder what else they may have missed in this book. (This picture was taken from the Jun’s Fantasy World art book btw, published in the 2000s)

alright that’s all I’ve got! I also got the physical copy of the Ghosts of the Pacific manga, which was fun. My favorite detail on it was the printing of a color illustration onto the page edges!
