Chapter 2

Lyra: Lyra wakes up and sees a plate with a slice of pie and a fork on the ground. She takes up the plate and takes a bite of the pie. Lyras eyes light up a bit as she eats a bit more. Taking the rest of the pie with her she leaves the room to go find Toriel. She didn't go far before finding Toriel in a chair reading a book. Toriel looks up as she heard a noise

Toriel: “oh you're awake dear. Come sit beside me.” Lyra goes and Sits in another chair nearby. “Was there something you needed dear, you didn't eat the pie, did you not like it.”

Lyra: “no no that not it i love it. What kind of pie is it? I've never tasted anything quite like it.”

Toriel: “oh it's my own recipe, butterscotch cinnamon pie. But if that is not why you're here, what for then.”

Lyra: “I just had some questions. First is, why do you have a kids bed in the house?”

Toriel: “it's for all the kids who fell down here. I would always help them before they moved on.” Toriel looked down sadly. “Before though it was for my children.” Lyra’s eyes widen in surprise

Lyra: “you had a family?”

Toriel: “yes, but sadly they are no longer around.”

Lyra: “Oh I'm so sorry, let 's change the topic.”

Toriel: “thank you dear.” she smiled slightly.

Lyra: “the other thing i wanted to know is what happened here? there is so much radiation and many monsters look sick or mutated.”

Toriel: “I see, I wondered when you would ask. I will grab some extra pie. This will be a long story.” Lyra takes a seat

Toriel: “I see, I wondered when you would ask. I will grab some extra pie. This will be a long story.” Lyra stasyed put and examined the room while she waited. Toriel came back with an extra slice and started the story.

Toriel: “as it started ____ years ago the humans went to war with the monsters. They went to war with us because they fear our power. If not for our few numbers we might have won. Unfortunately, they overwhelmed us with their number, forcing us into the underground. They then had their most powerful spell casters seal us down here with the barrier. After a few years the old royal scientists made the core. The core is what allowed us to have power.”

Lyra: “what did it run on? Yall couldnt have mined for coal.” she took a bite of pie

Toriel: “it ran off magic. Only the scientist really understood it though. Everything was going fine for years, until the core had a meltdown. It broke after so many decades and wasn't making enough energy after that. Soon they had to find a new source of energy. They found large deposits of radioactive material and used that. One of the scientists, Alphys, redesigned the core so it could use radioactive power. Then it had another meltdown. It released radioactive partials in the air all over the underground. Alphys made these masks for everyone so they could breathe and made the air cleaners, but many still despise her now because they blame her for the meltdown. Many had gotten sick from the radiation while others mutated and adapted. For those who adapted, they could stand the radiation better but once they got masks they stopped mutating. For those who got sick, over half of them have died now.”

Lyra: “How long ago did this all happen?” Toriel: “maybe less than a year ago, possibly 7 months. Some monsters are still dying of sickness though.” Lyra: “That's awful.”

Toriel: “indeed.” toriel then broke out into another coughing fit.

Lyra: “Miss Toriel!” She got up and went over to Toriel. Toriel: “no no stay ba-'' she starts coughing again. After a while Toriel’s cough had settled down and she seemed okay, besides her sickly look.

Lyra: “Are you okay now?” 

Toriel: “yes dear i'm alright now. This isn't something to worry about, it happens every now and then.”

Lyra: “if you say so. Anyways I'm thankful you helped me and gave me some background on this place but I think I should leave now. I need to get back and report all this. If I can get out.” she mutters the last part to herself

Toriel: he widened in fear “no no you can't go out there dear, it's far too dangerous. Why not just stay here for a while. I could make you some more food if you'd like?”

Lyra: “Miss Toriel, are you.. Afraid i'm leaving because i don't like it here. Miss, I promise I'm only leaving because I need to get back home. I have people waiting for me.”

Toriel: Toriel stands up and starts to go down the stairs. 

Lyra: Lyra is confused for a moment before also going down the stairs. As she reaches the end with the door to exit the ruins, Lyra sees Toriel blocking the way. “Miss Toriel, I need to go.”

Toriel: “I won't let you leave. I won't let you die like the others.”

Lyra: “Miss Toriel I'm not going to die I promise.”

Toriel: “That's what all the others said and they still died.”

Lyra: “what can I do to make you let me go?”

Toriel: “I'm not letting you leave, you'll be safe with me.”

Lyra: “Then why not come with me?”

Toriel: hesitantly “come, with you?”

Lyra yes if you think ill be safer with you than just come with me. You could meet new people, have fun mabey. What's the point in staying here?”

Toriel: “I need to make sure anyone else who falls down is safe, I can't leave.” Lyra: “and why can't you do that by leaving? It may be a longer walk but so what? How often does someone even fall down here?”

Toriel: “well, i, not often, i.. Guess I could leave. I haven't seen outside in a long time.” Lyra: “Then come with me. I would enjoy the company.”

Toriel: “But where am I going to live?” Lyra: “we can figure that out. Worst case scenario, you come back here because you can't find somewhere.”

Torie: “i- guess we could do that. I have no one but myself and a few monsters to talk to. Very well I'll go with you.” Toriel hugs Lyra and they walk out together. As they walk through where Flowys usually is, he isn't there. They walk through, Flowey can be seen in the dark with a frown on his face.”

Flowey: “So the old lady finally left huh. How unfortunate, it'll be a lot harder to kill the human with her around.” we skip to them walking out of the ruins.

Toriel: “oh my, it has changed so much.” Most of the trees have fallen over and are decaying. The few left standing are slightly rotted, sickly looking.

Lyra: “the radiation must have killed them. Animals usually find it easier to adapt to these things than plants do.'' They continue walking until they come across a bridge. “What an odd bridge. Why are there bars? Are they trying to keep people out?”

Toriel: “It looks like it, but they didn't do a good job.” Before they cross over the bridge a shadow appears behind them.

????: “you shouldn't insult that work, the person who made it tried real hard you know. Anyway, turn around will ya. Don't you know how to greet a new pal?”

Undertale: Radioactive Meltdown Chapter 1

We see a white female with brown hair walking up a mountain with a tall white man with black spiked hair, a small energetic looking white man with ginger hair, a grumpy looking  white man and a white woman who looks the oldest with blonde hair.

Lyra: “Alright, we're here. Chris“ points at the short ginger ”and Luke.” points at the tall man. “head that way. Ruby” points at the younger woman “and Mike” points at grumpy man. “head that way and I'll head up the MT.”

Ruby: “Are you sure that's safe, going up there by yourself?”

Lyra: “It's fine, these are just myths. I'll see you guys in a day or two.”

Ruby: “And must I go with him? He makes me feel uncomfortable.”

Lyra: “I'm sorry but that's why I'm sending him with you. I trust you to make sure he doesn't do anything.”

Ruby: “alright sis.”

All of them: “bye” They go their separate ways. Lyra walks up the mountain till she is in the mouth of the cave. Once she's inside she sees a large hole. She gets curious and tests the radiation only to find large amounts of radiation coming from it. She ties a rope to herself and a large rock and starts climbing down. The rock slowly losesens till it comes out of place and she falls

Timeskip 

Lyra wakes up and looks around abruptly 

Lyra: “where am i?”  she takes the rope off and gets up, dusting herself off. As she does this she sees what she landed on. 

Lyra: “What happened to these flowers? They look so sickly, is there really that much radiation down here. I wond-” suddenly she breaks out into a coughing fit. She realizes her mask fell off.

Lyra: “s-son of a-” she falls down coughing and reaches for her mask. She grabs it and puts it back on. She takes a deep breath and does one more sligh cough fit. “Dang it, my mask is cracked.”

Lyra: “Gezz, the radiation down here is high. I guess i found where it all came from.'' She looks up at where she dropped from. 

Lyra: “It's a miracle I survived.” looks around a bit 

Lyra: “looks like this way is the only way i can go.” she walks out of the flower room into the next. When she walks in she sees a flower. It looked almost dead and like it had multiple eyes

Lyra: “What an odd looking flower. Almost looks like it has eyes, '' she says. She gets close to look at it. Suddenly the flower looked up at her and opened its eye(s). 

Lyra: “ahh!” she exclaimed. The flower talked in a distorted and ragged voice. 

Flowey: “hey there im flowey, flowey the flower. I have never seen you around here before, you must be new.”

Lyra: “What are you?” Lyra asks 

Flowy: “I'm a monster of the underground, don't you know we live here, you humans sealed us away a long time ago.” he replied. 

Lyra: “I thought those were myths. They were stories made decades ago.” Lyra says. 

Flowy: “Well they are not, anyway i talked to you cause i can help you get out, you do want to get out right?” 

Lyra: “Well yes.” Flowey summons a white pellet. 

Flowy: “This is a magic pellet that can heal you, then I can help you get out of here.” 

Lyra: “Are you sure?” 

Flowy: “of course.” he says with a slight grin on his face. She touches it and gets zapped. 

Lyra “Ow! What the heck!” turns into his evil form? 

Flowy: “You fool, in this world it is kill or be killed!” He summons a circle of magic pellets and moves them toward Lyra. As the pellets get close, Flowey is knocked away by a magic flame. Toriel comes into view beside Lyra 

Toriel: “what a foul creature, trying to hurt a -” she stopped as she saw Lyra. “You are not a child.” she says confused. 

Lyra: “No should I be?” 

Toriel: “Well, all the humans who have come before you were children.” 

Lyra: “Really, children came down here, how awful, no offense.” she adds quickly. 

Toriel: “None taken dear, the ruins are the safest and even there not safe for those who can't defend themselves.” Toriel shakes her head sadly. “Anyway, dear, come with me, I will take you to my house.” They walk the way through the ruins. As they walk Lyra notices that Toriel messed up a few puzzles and had to do them again and she had coughing fits every so often. They get to the spike maze. 

Lyra: “you sure that's safe, no offense but you have missed a few. And why do you need it.” Toriel: “there are many dangerous monsters down here that want revenge for what the humans have done to us. And I understand your concerts but no worries, I have mapped it out.” 

Lyra: “Are all monsters affected by this radiation like you?”

Toriel: “Well no, the ruins have the lowest radiation in the underground. Most monsters mutated, but some like me didn't and have gotten sick most survive but still some die. But don't worry about me dear, I'm fine.”

Lyra: “if you say so mam.” they continue till the normal stopping point in the game. 

Toriel: “oh i'm sorry dear, I need to do something. Stay here for me, will you, I'll be back soon.” Toriel starts to walk away then turns back around. Toriel: “I nearly forgot, here's a phone for you to contact me if you need me. Bye now dear.” turns and quickly walks away.

Lyra: “huh, hey wa- and she's gone. Guess I can wait for a bit.” after 20 minutes. “Okay i'm going ahead she may have forgotten. Poor woman it must be awful.'' She walked through the ruins and past the puzzles and encountered a few monsters who she convinced she didn't mean any harm and had a quick chat with them. Others, like some frogs she saw, were violent and she had to run from them. Soon she reached a house. “I can only assume this is Miss Toriel’s house as I haven't seen any others.'' She walks up to the door and knocks. She hears some shuffling on the other side of the door. As it opens Lyra sees Toriel stick her head out the door. Toriel's eyes widened with surprise. 

Toriel: “what are you doing here dear, i told you to wait and i would come back for you.”

Lyra: “miss Toriel it has been over 20 minutes since then”

Toriel: “oh my, has it been that long, i'm so sorry dear come in come in.” Lyra walks into the house and takes a look around. It's the normal house but a bit more run down. Some paint is faded. Toriel starts to take he mask off

Lyra: “why are you taking your mask off! What about the radiation!”

Toriel: “oh yes, in my house i have an air filter that takes care of the radiation since it is airborne.”

Lyra: “I see, well I do like your house, Miss Toriel. The colors look nice. Makes you feel safe and cozy.” Lyra starts taking her mask off as well

Toriel: “oh you're too kind dear, I know it looks bad. Unfortunately I can't keep up with it like I used to.” she looks down with a sad look in her eye. “Enough of that though let's get you to a bed, you look tired dear.”

Lyra: “thank you Miss.” Toriel leads her to the bed. Lyra puts her mask on the desk beside the bed and gets in the bed, though she barely fits in it. She soon falls asleep from an exhausting day.

Undertale: Radioactive Meltdown- Prolog

After a neutral run by frisk, she killed Asgore and left the underground never to reset. With no one to lead them on what to do the underground went into a panic. Undyne stepped up as leader and brought back the order. Eventually the core was having malfunctions and couldn't produce enough power. The people started to have less food and complained. Undyne remembered that Alphys had mentioned that Sans used to be a scientist and enlisted his help to find a way to produce more power. While researching for a new source of power Sans and Alphys came across radioactive/nuclear energy. They redesigned the core so it could use the radioactive/nuclear energy and it was a success, until the incident. The reactor had another malfunction but it was worse, it ended up having a meltdown. It releases radiation across the underground, harming and killing many monsters. Sans and Alphys made masks that would protect them from the radiation but many had fallen ill to the radiation or had mutated. After the incident many were hesitant to trust alphys, as they didn't know that sans had helped in the project, and still blame her for the radiation.

The new human is a 21 year old female scientist who is researching a report about unsafe amounts of radiation in the area around MT. Ebbot. After finding a hole where most of the radiation was coming from she investigated going down into the hole. While climbing down the rope she was climbing down with suddenly snaps and she falls and is knocked out, resting on to a bed of sickly looking flowers. This is where our story begins.
