Japanese Authors
My love for Japanese authors started with Malice by Kiego Higashino. Then I read Death Note Manga Tsugumi Ohba. And of course my love for Attack on Titan by Hajime Isayama.
Haruki Murakami has been a regular on my book shelve for last 2 years now, I have finished his Norwegian Wood, Sputnik Sweetheart, After Dark and Killing Commendatore.
I recently discovered Seishi Yokomizo and Mieko Kawakami thanks to Vishwanath, the owner of Book Lovers in Lokhandwala.
Currently I have picked up Asako Yuzuki's butter thanks to a book club group I am in.
Just wondering the deep cultural impact all this is having on me.

The Godfather by Mario Puzo
Reading the last 25% of the Godfather. Michael Corleone has been hit by the lightening in Sicily. Okay I feel bad for Kay Adams but it is what it is. Also am kind of getting an ick from Michael right now.

The Hating Game by Sally Thorne
March 2022. As single as anyone could be. I picked up this rom com just based on one of the excerpts in it about how hating and loving are the two different sides of the same coin. As someone who has always been little/small/short/midget and what not. The protagonist was somewhat relatable and so was her Nepoleon complex. The protag loved books and had her entire personality revolve around being nice to people at her own cost. I did not relate to the later part of her personality but I still loved Lucinda Hutton. Her love for books and dedication for bringing out good art in the world made me vouch for her.
Let me start talking about Joshua Templeman. 6 foot 4, blue eyes. Do I even need to say anything more? Joshua was a yin to Lucinda's yang. I loved the banter in this book and I loved the way characters understood each other so well. It was a book I finished in 2 days. Also a little bit of smut, good smut. Well written.

The Sea of Monsters is such an underrated book, which is crazy because it has some of the most iconic scenes in the entire series. Grover in a wedding dress? Thalia’s tree being poisoned! Percy being turned into a Guinea Pig!? THALIA BEING REVIVED!? THE SIREN SCENE!?!? Not to mention the fact it’s based off of the Odyssey with ANNABETH TAKING ON THE ROLE OF ODYSSEUS
I'm so excited for this new season to teach all the haters about the shining star that is Sea of Monsters

A Clash of Kings
I am reading 'A clash of kings' which is the second book in 'A song of ice and fire' by George RR Martin. In a chapter from the pov of Ser Davos, The Red Woman, Milesandre is describing Azor Ahai and clearly says that he is the son of fire. If not Jon then who? Of course in the chapter in context Stannis Baratheon is depicted with the sword on fire aka lightbringer but common it has to be Jon.

A song of ice and fire
I had a very vella day today, vella means that I was free and I had no work. I am happy to be reading 'A clash of kings' by George RR Martin and I can see how much I have grown up. Last time I read this book I was 17 and of course I did not understand a lot of things but the growth that I have seen in past 3 years has been tremendous, something that I can actually measure even though it is intangible but there are so many things that I have learned in past few years that I am grateful for. Picking the book up after having my frontal lobe developed makes me feel good. I think I will absorb stuff in a better way and become a better human.

There’s a massive crowd actively gaslighting and downplaying what is happening to Bangladeshi hindus rn.
When I shared verified news of hindu temples being targeted and hindu homes being broken into on my blog I was told that it’s all “false” and that Hindus are safe in Bangladesh. I was told that the protesters are only targeting awami league leaders but if this is true then what is the need to burn down hindu temples? I’ve come across several Bangladeshi hindus who are confirming that they’ve faced violence since the past few days.
Burned Iskcon temple:

It isn’t just a new phenomenon, the population of hindus has been shrinking in Bangladesh since a long time now -

It’s the same story in Afghanistan as well as Pakistan-

I wish I could upload more pictures and videos that I’ve on my phone.
P.s it’s also true that not everyone is facing trouble but quite a few are. People should refrain from making blanket statements. Not all Hindus are safe. There are factual reports of temples being burned down. Stop trying to silence the voices that are speaking about these things.

Arya Stark
Fear cuts deeper than swords.
These were taught to Arya by her 'dance master' Syrio Forel. During the darkest time of my life I used to chant these words to myself and somehow I survived.
We take a lot many things for granted but I have realised the role that literature plays in our lives. These lines were read by me as a girl of 17 and at 20 these very lines helped me carry on. Was I afraid? Yes. But isn't that the only time you can be brave?

“There is a childish juvenile level to us that comes to life in those moments. You saw Olivia Cooke bite her nails and become childlike as Alicent, you saw Rhaenyra become this brat at times…those are choices the actors made.”
