Ok but especially in the context of nicks story, it would make so much sense to be able date him. Think about it, he struggles with feeling like an individual person since hes got the memories of the pre-war nick floating around in his brain, and those memories lead him to a path of vengance for a dead woman he never knew, yet still loved, and has to deal with all that grief. That vengence is the only thing nick feels is truly *his*. But if you could date him, he could not only move on from jenny, he could have more that is actually his, and isn't pre-war nick's. It would add another layer to his growth, and set-up further recovery for him. But bethesda is full of cowards.

Finally picked up Fallout 4 again and finished the Nuka World DLC. And while it wasn’t my favorite, it did inspire some personal headcanons that brought this art into the world.

I think story wise, I see Nuka World as the Sole Survivor’s mental break. Likely after whatever Institute outcome you choose. I loved the idea of Roxanne (my SS) running away from her problems and responsibilities, not telling anyone where she’s gone, and ending up the Overboss of a bunch of Raider gangs.

Nick Valentine, synth detective, obviously comes after her to bring his favorite former icicle home 💘

When Nick Valentine really doesn’t want to deal with someone he just does an impression of a pre-recorded outgoing voicemail message at them and does his best to pretend he’s not really there. Eyes unblinking, lips somehow barely moving to the naked eye. They’ll ask him a question and after a brief pause he’ll hit them with: “Hi, you’ve reached the Valentine Detective Agency. I’m currently away from my office or choosing not to participate in this conversation. Please leave your message after the tone. Beeeep.”

It’s the same silly, exaggerated beep he did at those caravanning kidnappers to scare them away from the mayor’s daughter, but he’s so committed to the bit that it has people second guessing themselves.
