verse 2. Ibn 'Abbas said, "Remember Allah during the wellknown days; i.e. the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, and also the fixed number of appointed days; i.e. the days of Tashriq." Narrated Ibn 'Abbas r.a. : The Prophet PBUH said, "No good deeds done on other days are superior to those done on these (first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah)." Then some companions of the Prophet said, "Not even Jihad?" He replied, "Not even Jihad, except that of a man who does it by putting himself and his property in danger (for Allah's sake) and does not return with any of those things." [Sahih al-Bukhari, 2/969 (O.P.86)]. verse 3. "Even" and "Odd" are interpreted differently by different religious scholars. Some say: Even is the Day of Slaughtering of the Sacrifices, i.e. 10th of Dhul-Hijjah, and Odd is the day of 'Arafah (Hajj), i.e. 9th of Dhul-Hijjah. Others say: Even is all the creatures and Odd is Allah. Some say it is the compulsory congregational prayer, Magrib is Odd, and the other four prayers are Even. #TafsirIbnKathir #QuranVerseOTD

Allah states that He has made the life of this world beautiful for the disbelievers who are satisfied with it, who collect wealth, but refrain from spending it on what they have been commanded, which could earn them Allah's pleasure. Instead, they ridicule the believers who ignore this life and who spend whatever they earn on what pleases their Lord. The believers spend seeking Allah's Face, and this is why they have gained the ultimate happiness and the best share on the Day of the Return. Therefore, they will be exalted above the disbelievers at the Gathering Place, when they are gathered, during the resurrection and in their final destination. The believers will reside in the highest grades in the utmost highs, while the disbelievers will reside in the lowest of lows (in the Fire). #TafsirIbnKathir #QuranVerseOTD

In an address to the believers of this Ummah, Allah ordered them to fast, with the intention of doing so sincerely for Allah the Exalted alone. This is because fasting purifies the souls and cleanses them from the evil that might mix with them and their ill behavior. Allah mentioned that He has ordained fasting for Muslims just as He ordained it for those before them, they being an example for them in that, so they should vigorously perform this obligation more obediently than the previous nations. ~ Tafsir ibn Kathir ~ #QuranVerseOTD

(And scouring to the raid at dawn.) meaning, the raid that is carried out in the early morning time. This is just as the Messenger of Allah used to perform raids in the early morning. This means, (And you will come to know for which of us will be the (happy) end in the Hereafter. Certainly the wrongdoers will not be successful.)﴿6:135﴾ Verily, Allah fulfilled His promise to His Messenger , helped him and aided him. A) narrated Ibn Mas'ud radhiyallahu'anhu: A man kissed a woman and then came to Allah's messenger PBUH and told him of that. So this Divine Revelation was revealed to the Prophet PBUH: "And perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), at the two ends of the day and in some hours of the night [i.e. the five compulsory Salat (prayers)]. Verily, the good deeds remove the evil deeds (i.e. small sins). That is a reminder for the mindful." The man said, "Is this instruction for me only?" the Prophet PBUH said, "It is for all those of my followers who encounter a similar situation." [Sahih al-Bukhari, 6/4687 (O.P.209)] B) Narrated Abu Dhar radhiyallahu'anhu: Allah's Messenger PBUH said to me: "(a) Be afraid of Allah and keep your duty to Him wherever you mau be. (b) And follow up the evil deeds with good deeds, (verily) the good deeds remove (blot out) the evil deeds. (c) and (treat) behave with the people in a high standard of character." (Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting.) meaning, the reward of the final abode is better than the worldly life, and it is more lasting. For indeed, this worldly life is lowly and temporal, whereas the Hereafter is noble and eternal. Thus, how can an intelligent person prefer that which is short-lived over that which is eternal.
