"QUOTES" Opens in The Handel's Court Gallery - Chester

With the success of the opening of, "QUOTES" Chester in Watergates & Alexanders bar last week. We have now taken position in the Handel's Court Gallery, Chester where the remaining posters from the exhibition are available to purchase.

Designers Sam Watson & Arron Critchley constructing the poster exhibition frame earlier in the week. Its now been fully finished and painted ready for the private opening on Friday, followed by the full opening on Saturday. Keep a look out for a travelling exhibit as we carry the equipment from Watergates Bar to Alexanders Live Bar.

Designer Lloyd Sale completes his single colour screen printed poster. Inspired by 'The Spoken Word' talking about positives and negative outlooks on life. Limited to 21 prints, it will make a great addition to anyones collection.

Designer Chris Breckon continued his production in the screen-printing studio today. With everything going as planned, he was able to complete his challenging three colour print, of his poster which has been inspired by a quote from Liam Fray, of The Courteeners. He was able to achieve a magenta over print on black, this was done by introducing white ink into the mix, reducing the transparency of the ink. 

The designs will be now cropped and prepared for sale, over the next two week.

Designers Chris Breckon and Esther Brame begin the production of their posters in the screen printing studio. Esther has gone for a two colour print, with a contrast of deep blue and black, with a quote inspired by the film, 'Titanic'. Whilst Chris has gone for a more challenging three colour print, using a witty quote from the currently influential musician and The Courteeners front man, 'Liam Fray'. 

They will continue their production into next week, further updates can be found here, as well as over on our Facebook event page and @quoteschester.

A "QUOTES" Chester short film, captured in the Screen Printing studio during production.

Designers Lauren Hailstone and Tom Wrench made excellent progress today in the screen printing studio, they have really got to grips with their designs, producing some really interesting results.

Second time screen printer Tom Wrench went for a two colour print, working with overlaid 70's typography. His poster was inspired by a quote from the music icon, John Lennon and his words from 1973.

Whilst first timer to the screen printing process Lauren, went for a single colour print, specifically chosen to emphasise her original illustrations, produced and printed as a negative. Her design was inspired by a quote taken from the iconic film, 'The Shawshank Redemption'. 

The whole day was captured in photography and film by designer Chris Breckon, who himself will take to the screen printing studio tomorrow. There will be a number of short films produced from the screen printing studio over the coming weeks.

Designers Ellie Rae Bowen and Hayley Brooke make progress on their poster design.

Good progress is being made by designers Ellie Rae Bowen and Hayley Brooke on their "QUOTE" poster, inspired by Judy Garland and her role in the film classic, 'The Wizard of Oz'. 

They are the first two designers who are taking on the screen printing challenge at the University of Chester, soon to be joined by the many other members of the team.
