I think the real draw of Dragon Age that will keep it going forever and ever is that they seem to have crafted these very interesting, intricate socio-political conflicts that you can find layers to for days seemingly completely by accident and fumbled exploring a single one of them to the fullest extent that they could.

it's really funny that when you're going through the gauntlet at the temple of sacred ashes, the figure you meet based on your origin is:

(human noble) your father, who you had to leave to his death along with your mother

(dalish elf) your best friend, who was dragged off by darkspawn to become a ghoul you later have to kill

(city elf) your cousin, who you were unable to save from being beaten and (implied) raped

(dwarf commoner) your best friend, who you thought you were leaving to die but instead end up having to kill

(dward noble) your brother, who your other brother murdered

and then

(mage) your piece of shit roommate jowan who, however sympathetic you may be to him, is fully & completely responsible for you having to leave the tower & join the grey wardens
