Low Energy Witchcraft
I'm neurodivergent and i experience really intense burnout. I get to a point where I struggle to even get out of bed, take my meds, remember to drink water, let alone practice. But, when I want to practice i have a list of things i can usually do. Everyone's experiences with burn out/low energy are different so this list may not apply to you, and that's okay. Take what resonates, leave what doesn't and i hope you enjoy my silly little list :)
create a playlist and infuse it with an intention. eg, a money spell playlist filled with songs about wealth.
draw sigils with soap when in the shower. (you can also use a wet wipe if you can't shower)
found some juice? give it a little shake and use the ingredients as a spell.
have food that has grains as ingredients? wow! an abundance spell!
the classic add intention to your tea and coffee.
bind your hair. for me with is as simple as putting my hair in a ponytail.
watch a witchy video. while not technically practising witchcraft, sometimes all you need is to sit back and relax to connect with your practice.
when I have a decent amount of energy I'll grab a large pillar candle and carve sigils into it. I use it as a long-term spell; all I have to do to activate it is light the candle. I like to light one of these spell candles when I'm having a bad day.
if you're religious, pray. Even if you're lying in bed. Even if you haven't showered in a week. If it makes you happy and you can, do it
burn some insence! it smells good, you don't have to really worry about forgetting about it, it's good for cleansing. it's great!
take a nap with some crystals. any restorative crystals or calming crystals work great! just make sure that they aren't geodes or roughs. i'd hate for you to hurt yourself while sleeping.
if you don't have any crystals for your nap, set an intention instead. please let yourself rest.
It's important to remember that you're allowed to take breaks from your craft. If you're forcing yourself to practice when you have no energy because "that's what a good witch would do!" then you're probably going to make your situation worse. it's a great way to fall out of love with witchcraft. give yourself some grace. rest is infinitely more important than 1 full moon, 1 new moon, or missing your daily/weekly/monthly cleanse. You aren't a bad person if you don't pull your morning tarot card or check the astrology forecast for today. and you aren't a bad person if you miss your daily prayer. take care of yourself. your health is WAY more important than your craft. Go get a drink of water and take care of yourself <3

some tarot tips i've collected over the years
- when shuffling, pay attention to the cards that fall out of the deck. sometimes they have a special message for you.
- questions aren't always necessary when reading. letting the cards tell you what they need to helps to develop your intuition, and the relationship between you and your deck (or the spirit you are working with, depending on how you divine information).
- when reading with multiple cards (i.e. as a spread), try and string the cards together rather than interpreting them by their individual meanings:
recurring suits, themes, symbols, and numbers
proportions of suits and uprights vs. reversals
position of the cards (e.g. if people are present in the cards, where are they looking?)
colours of the cards (e.g. do any of the cards stand out more than the rest?)
- although each card has a core meaning, different decks with different art could emanate different "flavours" of the core meaning.
- draw a clarifying card if something confuses you, but try not to draw any more than two cards per reading.

I think it’s really important that we talk about a very pertinent and relevant topic:
How to spot fake crystals!
“Fake” in reference to crystals can mean many different things depending on who you ask, but we’ll cover all of them. Dyed stones, heat treated, glass, man made, mislabeled/marketed, etc.
As the crystal community grows, so do the counterfeit dealers! One of the fakes I see most often are the small little bullet shaped points made into pendants, with very over exaggerated color and patterns, that are being sold at extremely low prices and readily available at places like Walmart, Five Below, and Amazon. These are either made from resin/plastic or dyed glass, and possess absolutely no metaphysical properties or vibrational energy.
Another way to spot a fake is if the price is just too good to be true. While I am able to offer stones (IG @petriquartz) at a lower price than most retail metaphysical stores, it’s usually just because those places are OVER charging for their product. While you don’t want to overpay, you also don’t want to underpay, as that is an indication that the stone you are purchasing is not genuine.
If a stone is one with a natural pattern, we want to be sure that the pattern is not completely uniform or symmetrical. A patterned stone that is often faked, as it is on the rarer and pricier side, is malachite. A good way to tell if your malachite is genuine is to see if the stripes on your stone are dark green or black. Black stripes that are very uniform are a tell-tale sign that what you have is a fake.
Now what about heat treated stones??? The vast majority of the time, heat treated amethyst is marketed and sold as citrine. While this isn’t really false, it is a little deceptive. Amethyst and citrine are both varieties of quartz. The only difference is the oxidized state of the iron impurities within the mineral. Naturally occurring citrine is quite rare, which is the result of natural heat and pressure applied to amethyst over a very long period of time. We are able to simulate that effect by heat treating pieces of amethyst in order to speed up the process.
Finally, let’s talk about man made stones. Some of the most popular man made crystals include opalite, goldstone, and blue sandstone. Some people debate whether or not these man made stones still possess any sort of metaphysical properties while not coming directly from the earth. Whether you use them in your own practice or just have them as display pieces in your house is totally up to you! Do what feels right, and if you feel called to them, there is nothing wrong with using them!
I hope that this can offer some insight to anyone just getting starting, or some guidance for anyone looking to purchase crystals! For genuine, ethically sourced stones, be sure to check out Petriquartz on all platforms. The majority of my sales are done via my Facebook group, where I offer exclusive prices for members, as well as frequently host giveaways and live sales once a week or more! Shunmyo Masuno, Zen Priest / Garden Designer
“A moment we enjoy today will never return again. As waves beat against a shore, so do we inexorably grow older. Growing old is simply proof that you are living a natural life. Human live according to the dictates of nature. Change is a natural part of this.
Right now we have a chance to truly appreciate the joy of our life until now. But you can’t cling to the past. That will only lead to pain and struggle. Accept change and absorb whatever that is good to shape a new era.
We can’t continue to selfishly exploit the natural world. We cause forest fire, extreme weather and climate change. This is a wake up call. We must build a world in which we can live in harmony with nature. We need spaces that allow our spirits to commune with nature but such spaces are sadly rare in cities today. Spaces to allow people to stop, relax and just breathe.”

Egg shells in witchcraft
Save your eggshells and make them into a powder. You can use them for protection, peace and cleansing!
Also, can be used to make Black Salt. Just add some incense ashes!
Just rinse them, allow them to dry, crush in your mortar and pestle and store them in a labeled bottle.
Powdered Eggshells can be used in your magical workings to cast circles or for protection.
To add some extra oomph, add a pinch of salt and dragon's blood resin in your protection blend.

Little Witchcraft Things To Implement In Daily Life When The Motivation Is Lacking
I've been lightly/casually practicing witchcraft for about 5 months now. as much as I love my craft and feel comfortable with it, I find that my motivation to study/do tarot/cleanse and charge crystals/literally do anything comes in waves. I've passed the last two holidays not really doing anything in particular other than a tarot reading for myself.
for a while, I felt really bad about it, wondering if I even "deserve" to call myself a witch. I soon realized that practicing this craft isn't like a homework assignment you must complete or a deadline you must meet before a certain time. thinking of it like that makes my anxious, schooled-out brain tired even now. even still, I wanted to figure out some ways to practice my craft at my own pace and maintain its prevalence in my life without burning myself or taking time from the other important things in my life. so, here's a little list of things that I do every day, maybe it'll help someone else along the way :)
always wear my quartz necklace when I go out, for general protection and anti-bad vibes
bring a tarot deck in my bag with me everywhere I go
take a look at my The World card charm as a little reminder that what will be will be
stare at the moon a little bit whenever I get the chance, to calm myself down, relax, and soak in her feminine energy, almost like I myself am a crystal needing to be charged
sit down in the sun while I do homework or read, letting the masculine powers motivate me for the task at hand as well as for future endeavors later
either a) make my own coffee, taking time to practice mindfulness as I do it, b) make tea, picking out a specific flavor with my intuition, letting it guide what I need to focus on and appreciate that day, or c) go out and get my own caffeine somewhere else and being as kind as possible to the workers to establish that good energy for the day
talk and listen to my talkative cat; you never know what guidance she may have for me
try to go outside and walk anywhere I go instead of driving if I can help it; nature is so beautiful and I often forget to appreciate it with all my busyness
it's not every day, but I try to take out my ukulele and guitar to just sit and play with the strings, almost like a bit of sound meditation/cleansing for myself
about once a month if I have a night where I sleep bad, I always light some incense and take a walk around my room, cleansing the area of bad energy and just readjusting the vibes
in moments of anxiety, stress, anger (which has been affecting me a lot recently), sadness, or what have you, stop whatever I am doing to sit and feel those emotions, practice some deep breathing techniques, and remember that I have control of myself and myself only, keeping in mind that the universe will look out for me
if anyone has any other suggestions, please drop them here!! they'd be really appreciated! I hope this list helps at least someone who feels the way I do, since I know (especially for baby witches/witches with mental health problems) that it often feels very overwhelming to do anything to practice your craft. as the weather grows colder and the sun comes out less and less, seasonal affectedness is starting to come out of the woodwork for many, including myself, so it's about time to really hammer in those "little things" into a daily routine so as to maintain your craft when things get funky. of course, whatever feels right to you is always best, this is just how I'm feeling about the approaching winter. :)
if anyone has any extra tips with dealing with a lack of motivation, witchcraft with mental illness, or the like, those would also be appreciated for the good of the order. have a wonderful rest of your day, week, month, and year and blessed be!! <3

Anatomy of a Spell
This post will go over what is needed for a spell to be created!
This is a page from my grimoire and by no means is this a set-in-stone situation. Take what you will and leave what you won't.
Desire or intent. This is the whole point of the spell. What is the desired outcome, what do you want to achieve from this spell?
Planning of ingredients, spell structure, time, and location. This includes the verbal or written aspect of the spell if any.
Protection, there’s really no reason not to have a safeguard on your spell in my opinion but this isn't true for everyone. Do what feels right for you.
Raising, gathering, or building energy for the spell. Energy is how you get your spell to work. This can be done by chanting, breathwork, borrowing energy, and more.
Directing energy into the spell. Self-explanatory, gotta get it in there somehow. Basically just getting the intent/desire from inside you to inside the spell so that it can work its magic (pun intended).
Release any excess energy if needed. Grounding is a good way to do this.
Clear and concise ending; this could be a phrase, word, or physical act that indicates the ending of the spell. It’s best when everyone and everything involved knows when you have ceased doing the spell.
Extras:
It’s a good idea to record your process and results of the spells you create and cast so that you have a reference for future spells; also you can figure out what went wrong or right.
I personally think it’s a good idea to put a fail-safe in a spell, I usually do this by stating it out loud: i.e. “If I take apart this spell bag then the spell will cease.” or “If I do this spell in reverse the spell will cease/reverse” and so on.
Preparing the physical and non-physical things for the spell; can mean gathering, cleansing, or preparing yourself to be in the headspace needed for the spell. It's better to be prepared than to get blindsided halfway through because you’re missing something!

Bury your crystals in an “herb bath” of sea salt, sage, mint, and rose petals as a lovely way to cleanse them :)
