Already relapsing with hammer again lmao, I've got a new map in mind! I've never made a proper grid-layout urban center kinda map before, so figure now's as good a time as ever to learn lol
I've had this album that's filled with fairly chill tunes that was always intended for some sort of top-down hotline miami-esque exploration/rp game I wanted to make, now that I'm working in source why not make it there? We'll see if it goes that far but would be fun to make something a little different.
I've also got plans to make a map for the gmod cinema gamemode exclusively, a recreation of a local old timey theater called the Civic. That should be good fun! Maybe I could make the neon even ooooh

Holy shit I did some errands today and the new map has absolutely exploded what in the fuck hahaha
Thank you to anyone that's checked gm_indoorspaces or any of my other maps out, you're the absolute best! I also added a little to the map, there's now a film dev minigame hidden in one of myhouses

ITS OVER THANK GODDD
This is the full release! Did some testing and it seems all set, no packing issues and all remaining bugs quashed. Might be one of the smoothest map publishes I've done yet.
If you like liminal shit with a bit of a twist, give it a look. I'm not super keen on the modern entity-driven backrooms stuff so this strays a slightly different path. Lots of tense or spooky areas as well! Oh and a shit ton of secrets to find 🌝
Oh also, features (almost) all music from me (except one song for an easter egg, you'll know), so it's streamer friendly. Have fun!

Oh, I forgot to upload this here lmao
Went a short vacation to Hocking hills which was very pretty but jesus christ the sheer number of yokel asshats out there solidified my intense disdain for ohio.
I've got a quick update coming to this within the hour so keep an eye out! Weird bugs with point_viewcontrol are causing people to get stuck reading my shitty typewritten pages lmao
This has also slowly turned into a walking sim music visualizer I've just realized lol, there's a shit ton of tunes in here for you to listen to

There we go, second in progress build done for gm_indoorspaces! There's a couple bugs and texture errors but nothing too severe, I'll try fixing a couple things up so you might see a few cheeky updates in the next day or two. Hoping to have this map out by the end of the month, and I think I can do that still! There's about two general areas that need to be finished off planning-wisw and laying down the rooms, and about 40% of the map still needs some more detail work.
Here's hoping the vertex limit lets me do all that lmao

Alright, here we go this is the first work-in-progress build for the map I've been teasing! I haven't checked it yet on my steam deck (I keep that install clean so I can test for missing textures) so be warned it may be thoroughly borked, which is why it's set to unlisted rn lmao.
I'll check this first thing tomorrow morning, I've got the day off so I can chill a bit in the morning and do a little QA testing!

I don't think I've shared any here, but I do film photography a lot these days! These were taken with a cute little zeiss contaflex ii that I actually repaired myself, and it's a wonderful little cutie. We were in ann arbor, michigan for a weekend on a sort of vacation to celebrate my 30th and my brother getting into law school. Usually if I'm in annietown it's for work or just to visit one specific place and then head back, so it was great to wander a bit!
Came across this cool collaborative art piece, an entire alleyway maintained by a local theater that allows anyone to tag anything on the walls, so long as it isn't some awful hate speech or nazi shit. And wow it looks fuckin cool as hell, reminds me of noir york from alan wake 2
This was all shot on some bulk rolled ektachrome slide film, pushed three stops from 100 to 800 and developed and scanned by me. Jesus it just so colorful, slide film is the best fuckin thing

Don't have any pics to hand at the moment, but I've been trying something new with the gmod map I'm working on rn. I decided I wanted to make little hammer recreations of the three homes I've lived in over 30 years or so, so one part of gm_indoorspaces is going to be just that!
I actually have snuck in recreations of places I've lived in gm_afterhours and placesfromfilm, the outside of my early childhood home and the layout of the home I live in currently respectively. But this time I think I've got the scale absolutely bang on. It's such a good exercise, trying to scale things just right, it's so easy to fuck up scale in a game world.
Best bit is, since these are just the interiors there might be some, extra geometry so to speak lmao

I realized I hadn't shown off the map yet in its entirety, so here's just about every last inch of indoorspaces so far! Didn't do any narration, and all of it needs some serious detail work, but I'm pretty happy so far! I'm on a short vacation but I wanna finish this up before end of summer I think.
Approaching about 32% of the vertex limit, so plenty of room to expand yesssss

Ah so I see tumblr is still a worthless shitfuck of a platform lmaoooo
Supposedly my empty gmod rooms are adult content. Yeah tumblr? You seeing a titty in that weird brick room? Seeing a big floppy dick in that narrow wallpapered hallway? Seriously it's embarrassing.

little noclip look at the map, too! It's getting kinda big lmao, and it needs a lot more detailing but there's a lot of stuff to wander around here. Mostly doing it to give AI nodes a proper shot since there's 0 teleports so far.

some random snaps in my latest map, gm_interiorspaces or something like that. It's getting really really dense now, but I'm only like 35% of the way to what I'll call complete lmao. Trying to fill this whole map with as many rooms as I can, and connect them in the weirdest ways too!

I figure I should probably actually use this blog, I didn't even realize there was a hammer mapping community on here at all! I left when the site went to shit over a decade ago or so now, around the yahoo merger and suddenly found that people had found my maps and posted em here! That's beyond cool, I never thought my stuff was really going to go anywhere lmao I'm not the best at hammer This is a small in-progress build of a map I've been working on here and there, it's going to hopefully be as much of a scale recreation of the former k-mart world headquarters building as I can manage. The actual building was torn down a year or two back now, so all I have to go off of are vague planning docs and a handful of photos I've managed to scrounge up across the web. The place had nearly a million square feet of interior space so it's a big boy lol. Right now there's a very very very unfinished build on the workshop if you're interested in wandering. Lately I've been a little sidetracked with a fun little abstract rooms map, actually I'll post some screenshots of that in a moment lmao

A short collection of left-overs and scraps from other projects that either fell short or were lost. Pretty decent stuff in there, comes from all sorts of sources and all sorts of times.
Definitely like Shrouded Streets the most. Gives off a really Blade Runner vibe, which is good cause that was the intention.

A collection of modular patches that I created over the course of a week or two.
Music was almost entirely done in eurorack, though the clear exceptions come with drum machines and DX7 sounds heh.

Recorded mostly while between moving between residences, this was inspired initially by listening to a load of Boards of Canada. I’d record tracks off of my synths then loop those and chop them up to create new sounds, especially heard in Chimes and Superposition (Chimes being the live recording, Superposition being a collection of clipped samples from Chimes).
Definitely much higher in production quality and mastering, and also the latest EP I’ve released, though a few are in the works currently.
