thinkin bout how when i came out to one of my friends as ace, one of her first responses was "yeah but you'd have sex for your partner, right?"

which at the time filled me with dread. because i dont want to. but i agreed because i didn't want to seem like, selfish? i guess?

and i just think its really fuckin weird to say that to an ace person. i hate the idea that sex is an assumed part of every relationship, and to not have sex is like, witholding something important from your partner.

for me, if a partner cannot handle a relationship without sex, we are fundamentally incompatible. and i dont think thats selfish of me.

all fictional characters are somebodies OC but i do wonder if creators of larger media like. have blorbo thoughts for their own characters like we do. do famous mangaka hear songs on the radio and think "fuckk this is so My Character" . do game devs think about AUs and crackships. do cartoon showrunners get the urge to draw their characters getting railed. surely. theyre human too.

tbh ive never been in a single gender space that felt like it justified its own existence. sports, bathrooms, pools, support groups, bars, book clubs, whatever. they can all be unisex. if youre scared of coexisting with people of other genders thats a personal problem that i sincerely hope you can heal from, but that shouldnt be the norm and im sick of debating people over it.
