The Departure of The Queen of the Night
(x)
“Remember to write, Ali.” Gabriel looked at her with misty eyes.
“All the time.” She replied with his face in her hand as the train was heard chugging away, nearing them in the distance as the conductor announced its arrival.
“I know I have already said but I’m so proud of you. I’m glad you’re doing this. For you.”
With a wistful smile, tears welled in Alicia’s eyes. “Not just for me this time.” She rubbed his cheek softly with her thumb. “I’ll miss you, Gabi. But we will see each other again, I promise this time. You will know exactly where I am.” She smiled through the trail of glistening tears down her cheeks.
Without another word, Gabriel’s arms wrapped around her and she reciprocated tightly. He had always smelled the same. Inexplicable, but always comforting.
The train finally came to a stop beside the platform, though neither wanted to let go first. She was glad the sounds of the engine were so loud, she was sniffling so loudly.
People were beginning to alight and Alicia had to pull back first, reaching up to dab at her cheeks.
“I have to go.”
A small nod came from Gabriel’s bowed head as he helped her with her suitcases after wiping at his face with the back of his hand. They waited for everybody else to get on before them, wanting to hold onto those precious moments before they had to part again. Those moments couldn’t last quite long enough.
Finally stepping up onto the train, she turned and Gabi handed her the cases. Setting them down at her feet, she leaned down and reached out to take his face, eyes closed as she pressed her lips onto his. To pour out all the love she had for him from the very start. A silent thank you from her to him.
The whistle blew and a steward came by to tell them he had to close the door.
She reached out for Gabi’s hand one last time and squeezed. “Te amo, Gabi. Te amo tanto.” She pulled her hand away and with pools beneath her eyes, she finally stepped back and allowed the door to close.
“Te amo, Alicia.” He managed to squeeze in before the door locked.
She swiftly took her cases aside and took a seat by one of the windows, pressing her hand against the window as her best friend pressed his hand to mirror hers on the other side.
Her bottom lip quivered as she continued to mouth to him that she loved him. She loved him so much, the man who protected her, with those same eyes as the boy who teased her for being an annoyance.
Before she was ready, though she was never to be, the train began pulling away. Slowly at first, and Gabi went along with it. Slowly too, but following her, eyes locked on her face as she still pressed her hand against the glass.
She kept her eyes on his. The train began going faster. Chugging. Each step in the man quickened and she leaned up from her seat as he stopped being able to keep up as well. She reached out for him, but it was too fast. All she could do was wave as his face retreated into the distance.
She sat back and she cried. It wasn’t goodbye. But it sure felt like it.
It was not an easy life in Paris but she made it her own, the first time she had made a decision for herself. All those decisions that led up to this one - to go back home and face the demons she thought she had buried in the past.
She always felt different in the day than she did in the night, through the windows of the train she basked in the warmth of the early Spring sun. She had never quite gotten the grasp of the light. The sun was always so telling when in the darkness she could hide behind as many veils as she wanted. No, in the day people could see every flaw, every dip and curve of her painted face, every minute expression she pulled. But at last, she could not have cared less.
Sat in her seat on the train she stared outside the window though focused on nothing in particular as scenes of the outskirts of Paris flitted by. Her hands wrung together as trees, fields and hills passed by. A strand of loose hair at her cheek tickled her and she brushed it behind her ear before looking down at her lap.
For so many around her it was just another day. Men, women and children simply going about their day. Some travelling for work. Some to visit family. Some to embark on an adventure. And some, like her, were going home.
It was funny to think it took a piece of home catching up with her in Paris for her to realise she didn’t quite belong. It was not the shiny and beautiful place it once was to her, but it was all fine. It did not have to be perfect because the best things in life were not.
From all the heartbreak she most treasured the love that caused it. From all the twisted ankles and bruised hips she most treasured the feeling of being on top of the world. From all the judgemental eyes that were ever laid on her she most treasured the feeling of being adored when she was on the L’Enfer stage.
From just a little girl in Barcelona being told what to do, she became a woman in Paris doing whatever she willed herself to do.
She did exactly what she had set out to do.
No, there could be no regrets.
Nobody could regret Paris.

She didn’t know what she was expecting of Gabi, but she knew it was what she had to do regardless of the reactions of those around her.
Thankfully, Gabi reacted in the best way he could as he looked at her with a smile.
With a shaking of her head, she reached up to his face and held him in her hands. “I would never ask you to go anywhere you don’t want to. This is something I have to do myself. Like Paris.”
It had been so long, so many years of two journeys intertwining in just the wrong and right ways to lead them up to here. Once again, just missing each other again.
With her hands in his lap, she squeezed his hands. “I will write every day if you want.” She smiled through a teariness in her eyes. They never got to say goodbye in the first place. She was thankful. This goodbye hurt a lot more than she thought it would.
He leaned into her touch and Gabriel closed his eyes as he relished in the softness of her hand and the warmth that seeped through his skin. He wanted to stay like this longer, to never leave the room and forbid the sun to rise– he knew she’ll be gone in the morning.
He exhaled, focusing his eyes to look at his best friend to remember every single detail about her that night; it wasn’t the best moment, with Alicia being black and blue, but memories have a funny way of distorting things and with enough time, he’ll only remember her dark eyes and the warmth on his skin. None of the bruises, pain or tears. Gabriel forced another smile in fear that if he didn’t, he’d end up crying.
Don’t go.
Don’t go.
Don’t leave me again like you did the last time.
“A letter every day, yes,” he nodded, and a shaky laugh escaped him to mask his sob. “I must know everything.“
But Alicia was right, this was something she needed to do for herself, something she needed to do by herself, and Gabriel wrapped her in a tight embrace. Every fiber in his being rejected this separation and the voices in his head started an uproar as he was reminded of her abandonment.
This isn’t abandonment.
It’s not goodbye.
“I love you,” he whispered, and the admission quieted down the doubts and insecurities that gnawed at him at that moment. Gabriel pulled away to look her in the eyes; he wanted to keep looking at her for as long as he could, study every freckle and the curve of her smile– he wanted to remember the way Alicia looked at him.
“Always. You’re my home, Ali, never forget that.“

There was a disconnect between Alicia’s revelation and Gabriel’s reaction; he stared at her, blankly at first before a long exhale was heard. Pressing his lips together, the Critic offered a weak smile at her news as he scrambled to regain his composure. Wasn’t this what he wanted? For Alicia to quit L’Enfer?
“That is good news,” Gabriel said after a while, and a much broader smile formed on his lips. “I’m happy for you, Ali.”
He was afraid to ask how long she’d be gone for something told him that it was a permanent goodbye, Alicia was returning to Barcelona for good and it was futile to play the fool.
“I would go with you,” he suddenly admitted and Gabriel lowered his gaze to focus on their hands, “I want to, but…”
But he’s made a life for himself in Paris without his family’s help.
But they have yet to forgive him for keeping his uncle Sebastian’s death from them.
But he didn’t want to make the trip back to Paris alone, nor did he want to ask her to return with him. Because he knows that Alicia would say no.
Gabriel intertwined their fingers and finally looked up to meet her gaze. “You would write often, yes?” His voice was shaky as he blinks away tears that threatened to fall. “And I will come visit you,” Someday, he thought.
She didn’t know what she was expecting of Gabi, but she knew it was what she had to do regardless of the reactions of those around her.
Thankfully, Gabi reacted in the best way he could as he looked at her with a smile.

A O E
A = Aftercare (What they’re like after sex)
If with a client, she’ll do what they want. If they paid for the night she’ll fall asleep with them since she only does overnights with clients she trusts anyway. If not, she’ll either cuddle a bit and chat or let them go off if that’s what they prefer.
If with a lover she will be very cuddly, not want to move for a long time until she feels like she ought to clean up but then want to cuddle back up in bed with them.
O = Oral (Preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc)
Prefers receiving but obviously will do anything for the dollah. Woman’s been a hooker for nine years.
E = Experience (How experienced are they? Do they know what they’re doing?)
Woman’s been a hooker for nine years.

Headcanon Game - A to Z (NSFW)
Hey guys! I thought I’d so something fun this weekend, so I did my best to sexualize the alphabet and turn it into a headcanon game!
So here’s how it works. You send me a character (or a few), and the corresponding letters that you want me to answer for them!
A = Aftercare (What they’re like after sex) B = Body part (Their favourite body part of theirs and also their partner’s) C = Cum (Anything to do with cum basically… I’m a disgusting person) D = Dirty Secret (Pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs) E = Experience (How experienced are they? Do they know what they’re doing?) F = Favourite Position (This goes without saying. Will probably include a visual) G = Goofy (Are they more serious in the moment, or are they humorous, etc) H = Hair (How well groomed are they, does the carpet match the drapes, etc.) I = Intimacy (How are they during the moment, romantic aspect…) J = Jack Off (Masturbation headcanon) K = Kink (One or more of their kinks) L = Location (Favourite places to do the do) M = Motivation (What turns them on, gets them going) N = NO (Something they wouldn’t do, turn offs) O = Oral (Preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc) P = Pace (Are they fats and rough? Slow and sensual? etc.) Q = Quickie (Their opinions on quickies rather than proper sex, how often, etc.) R = Risk (Are they game to experiment, do they take risks, etc.) S = Stamina (How many rounds can they go for, how long do they last…) T = Toy (Do they own toys? Do they use them? On a partner or themselves?) U = Unfair (how much they like to tease) V = Volume (How loud they are, what sounds they make) W = Wild Card (Get a random headcanon for the character of your choice) X = X-Ray (Let’s see what’s going on in those pants, picture or words) Y = Yearning (How high is their sex drive?) Z = ZZZ (… how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)
I’ll have this running all weekend, so feel free to drop by!

Gabriel’s face briefly lit up upon hearing her words and for a moment he just looked at Alicia in relief…only to realize that she didn’t look as pleased. In fact, she looked torn, if he had to find a word for it. He gave her a hand soft, reassuring squeeze before proceeding to pry for more information. She always told him everything, eventually, so what was Alicia hiding?
“That’s good…right?” He needed her to tell him that this was what she wanted, and not because he had made her feel bad for working there. “Do you need me to do anything for you? You can stay here if you like until you find a place of your own.”
Alicia returned his joyous expression with her own bittersweet one as she managed to look into his face as he sat beside her.
“It’s good.” She nodded, though with a pause as she looked down at their hands held together. How long would it be until they could hold hands like this after she leaves?
“You’ve done so much, Gabi. You won’t ever know just how much.” She squeezed his hands with both of hers as she took in a deep breath. “I am going back to Barcelona.”

“We could talk now,” was his hurried response and Gabriel exhaled at the thought that they might end up fighting again. He didn’t want Alicia to walk out the door. “Actually you don’t have to say anything right now if you don’t want to, I just…” Gabriel looked away as he steeled himself to continue, desperation gnawed at him that he was willing to say and do anything to get things right between them.
“I’m sorry, it was unfair of me to demand such a thing from you.” Gabriel lifted his gaze and focused on his friend as his hands fiddled with the small ointment jar. “You left because everyone was telling you what to do and here I was doing that very same thing. I’m sorry.”
Stay with me, please.
Leave that wretched place.
Choose me.
Gabriel sighed as he stopped himself from saying more, his tendency to suffocate and overwhelm threatened to push Alicia away and he didn’t want to lose her. “But I don’t know how I can live with the knowledge that you’re over there getting hurt.”
She could only look at her hands as she pursed her lips. In their youth she called Gabi her best friend, even when she grew up he was always her best friend even if he had left to travel the world without her. He always understood her the best, even if they were distanced and it showed as he bit his tongue.
“No, no. Don’t worry. I’ve always told you everything...eventually.” She managed a bittersweet smile.
When she found the courage to meet his gaze again, she reached out for his hand to pull him down to sit beside her.
“You won’t have to.” She confessed, though the rest of the words got lost halfway. “I don’t want to work there anymore.”

malmurd:
There’s only warmth emanating from her, whereas from him there’s a stiffened awkwardness, something securing him to a rigid posture like a tent pole tied to his spine. They had left together after the wedding, come to this very apartment, and made love - or some essence of it. Where Malachi would have felt obligated to pay for her time, he did not get the opportunity; she left while he slept. In this action, she had laid a new foundation for their relationship, a hopeful one, where payment was not required.
And just like that, in a singular sentence, she condemned those foundations to burning rubble.
He sniffs, a stilted reaction to something that shattered him within. Some sort of nodding, beckoning gesture followed, and dumbfounded he stood upon the spot and shuffled weight from one foot to another. She’s leaving, and he doesn’t know whether to be devastated or delighted. He opts for the latter.
“That’s terrific news, Carmen.” He says with attempted warmth, but the sentiment fails to reach his eyes. “Nobody deserves a fresh start more than you do. I’m pleased for you,” but I’m just sorry that I couldn’t help you with that fresh start, he doesn’t say.
But it isn’t too late to show her what he would have done had he not choked, had he not been such a cowardly fool. Malachi sternly tells himself that, this being his final chance at delivering her the affection she is made for, he can show her, tell her everything he failed to say, in one painfully repressed action.
He moves to her, breathes, dips his neck and kisses her, pouring all he can into a heartfelt motion from his lips to hers.
She hears supportive words at all at once she is disappointed but not surprised. Part of her had wondered whether he would have fought for her to stay but in a reply she had gotten her answer. She wondered what her response would have been, but she didn’t need to ponder on the what ifs anymore.
“Well...sometimes a fresh start means leaving everything behind. I did it once, I can do it again.” She let out a small chuckle with a half smile. The last she saw him he was sleeping soundly in bed - for once looking peaceful and unburdened and she wished the same for him when he was awake in the world too.
Carmen’s eyes flitted up to meet his and she felt more exposed to him than she had ever before. Of all the things she had not expected of the man, she hadn’t expected him to finally lean in. Her lashes fluttered close as she felt her heart pounding against her chest when their lips met. She had kissed so many men in the past but somehow this meant something, even if it were too late.
