"lolcow" is ultimately a colloquial term describing a phenomena that actually precedes the internet (and well, most of history too) but I can't think of another shorthand with implications that are tacitly understood the same way when gesturing to the spectacle that the world makes around acceptable targets. you go on reddit and someone has crossposted a Courtroom Freakout video like that's some shit anyone should want to derive entertainment from. your mom's cohort watches Dumb Criminal Fail youtube compilations and nod their heads as the perpetrator of a failed robbery bleeds out on floor of a kfc like that's some shit anyone should want to see. your peers are heavily invested in the Worthless E-Drama Industrial Complex, where thousands of people are made collateral of all kinds of violence in the name of forwarding the narrative of the spectacle. and you can't ask any of these people why any of this behavior is normal to them unless you want to be accused of condoning immoral tendencies, compulsion to punish The Other already metastasized in their minds. it sucks how easy it is to kill your own interest in this shit but not anyone else's.

Deltarune Glitch Route

You could, somehow leave the second sanctuary in chapter 4 and it was day, or at least nearing the end of day, and you could find toriel on your home and go back to talk to Susie, and she's like like "I, guess we succeeded? Don't we have to close the dark fountains?" You might be able to close the second sanctuary dark fountain [can't fully remember] But, the game gets glitchy for the rest of the route, like very bad movie style hacking glitchy where its like error screens popping up from windows vista and random globs of static for "glitches" I don't remember the exact stuff during second sanctuary, but you don't close the third sanctuary's dark fountains and when you get home sans isn't there due to you doing it much earlier so you and Susie ignore the entire awkwardness of it.

But, kris goes into a secret basement in their room and starts to clear out glitches appearing [it was a long 1 tile wide pathway from the top that then bends to the right and theres 2 poorly shaped circle rooms connected with very thin pathway like peas, it was exclusively shades of black and dark grey]. Someone was insulting you the entire time but most of their text is covered up by glitches. P sure it was the roaring knight being upset you didn't do the third sanctuary but I don't remember, could be Gaster or Friend Due to how heated they were, I'm not shocked if they said some swears [potentially in universe swears?] that were covered up by windows vista error messages. As you clear the final glitch in the final "pea" they leave you there and kris slumps over and the chapter ends there, no outro song or deltarune or nothing, it just kicks you to the file select screen

FPE:S Review by someone who doesn't even have Δlice So while I was doing literally nothing and being lazy I saw a youtube video on FPE:S and I was like, why not give it a shot Honestly p cool game but like everything, I feel it has a few issues. Survivors/Students

They're ok to play, I'd say a bit better than some of its contemporaries but rounds go on a bit too long so once you finish a single book you hide in a corner for six minutes, nine if an Δlice gets phase 2. Don't get me wrong, you could go for more books for more points and surviving in chase vs a Teacher is genuinely insanely fun but once you die and you can't get that +1 teacher chance/+1 survival for not dying it doesn't feel as impactful. To be fair, I do love chases due to the blocking mechanic being a much more fun and imo, fair parrying mechanic, same with closing doors on the teacher's faces. I think many other games should learn from this game in that way. I'd talk more about why being able to slam doors in teacher's faces is a good game design mechanic in my sight but just play the game for a few mins and you'll get it. There are even some nice and fun items to use, but you can only get them from a shop that only opens during the day so if you die with an item in hand it feels wasted. Now I get thats for balancing reasons due to a lot of the items being powerful but the map doesn't feel like it has much use anyway so I wouldn't mind if certain items spawned in certain spots, maybe in a weakened state Killers/Teachers They're really fun, Sure theres no kill animations but the screen turning red with the only things not being covered in blood red being your victims is fun, and gives that sense of running through your victims at high speed. And, yeah they're simple. Just press the funny "do my unique attack" button [and maybe hold it] but thats fine? Like its a funny attack that has high value if it lands [instant kills or instant door breaks] Other than thavel taking 10s to kill someone but apparently she's getting reworked so thats epic Honestly I do have a few issues with how it feels to play Teacher, mostly again with the map being too big at times, especially if theres not a lot of players in a server. Or how sometimes you can get the same character 5 times in a row. Bad luck I know but it did happen to me I don't know if they ever will add new Teachers to the game, but if they do a "Priority" system for how many times you DON'T get a teacher you want could be nice. [or if they add kill requirement skins] Δlice

I don't have Δlice yet, however she was the reason I wanted to play the game because well, she looked so cool to play

However, because of Δlice, unlocking Δlice is an experience that makes me scream I would wish on my worst enemy. Because I am very easy to get mad and its not that bad but incredibly annoying. How you may say? each round you play opens one of her eyes and at max eyes [Currently 3] an Δlice round starts, and the Δlice player with the most Δ gets to be her, these eyes don't close until an Δlice round is finished. And she's objectively the strongest character in game and can kill Teachers [Well, Students can as well but it is incredibly rare] Now, due to the mechanics, Teachers can fight back but it effectively requires a good team and some help from the students or you just being goated at the game However it is roblox so. uh yeah.

You might go "Well, thats neat. A bigger fish can appear sometimes" It is! However unlocking Δlice requires 500 kills, 150 survivals and 1k robux. So due to the eyes mechanic, an Δlice user can just, server hop until they find a server with maxed out eyes and if its your turn to be teacher and that happens? Yeah, I'm sorry. Because of Δlice's immense power, especially in phase 2, unless she decides to ignore you because you're literally on the other side of the map she'll likely spawn kill you a few times in the match. I think this is cool but does effectively mean every third match you just, can't progress in the game. Sure, you could say the same about the teachers, but even an Enraged Circle has easier counterplay due to her stomping around incredibly loudly urging you to hide before you're turned into paste. I don't want to nerf Δlice at all, I mean she literally takes over 20 or so hours to unlock, not counting the robux requirement, but I feel she's too common. Maybe you need to be in a server for over 4 mins to count for Δlice or Teacher? Maybe if theres no Δlice players in the server the eyes are set to 0? Could add more "Eyes" needed for Δlice rounds to start Or, if you die as a teacher in an Δlice round you get 2 more Teacher Chance or something as a "Yeah, we get it we're sorry" and if you win you get a bit more or, something. Yeah I'm not as creative as I'd like to be at times. Shrug. Map Size and other Misc Complaints

The map is, as I've said before a bit too big without much to do. On one hand this is solid because it allows you to hide [ignoring the fact chases in this game are some of the most fun I've had in asymmetric games] and it stops the teachers from camping the electric boxes during blackouts to make a round go on forever. However: you can just, not see someone for 30 seconds as a teacher sometimes, this problem is much worse on low population servers [under 14 players or so] Personally I wouldn't mind compressing the map a bit more and/or making everyone a bit faster, maybe 20% faster or so. Maybe some parts of the map are locked off [renovations or, whatever the lore reason you want it to be] depending on map size Secondly, I feel the time of the rounds is a BIT too long considering you have nothing to do unless a blackout happens or if you want to do something silly once you get a book other than hide. Like, yes, again you could get into a chase intentionally or look for more books for more points for items you're rarely gonna use but you already get 100 points each round. I'd maybe reduce it to about 4 mins or so [with the teachers and Δlice getting a buff or what have you.] Might have to mean the Day/"Inbetween Round" timer could be reduced to 1 min 20 seconds or so Obviously if it was reduced to 4 mins or so I'd likely make Δlice rounds every 4 rounds instead. 4's a nice number. And also add more stuff to do or a benefit for being in chase but I expect those to be happening anyway so.. Thirdly and honestly my final part but theres not enough events. Sure blackout is fun and I do love it for what it does but it feels like its the only event other than Δlice round and it makes replayability a bit less than I'd want. And I do want to grind a few kills to get Δlice. Maybe a rain storm or something that makes the map slippery. Or someone forgot to pay a few bills and doors take longer to respawn for a while or what have you. Just a few more things to make each round feel unique while the game still feels fair for both sides. Uh, and yeah thats it, I mean the game is genuinely fun and its free so I'd give it a shot but these are my few annoyances after playing. Doesn't stop it being a great game thats worth playing every so often! Do people still do ratings on games? especially if they're free? That's a genuine question, I have no clue. I'd say the game is up there on my list of fun games, but take a break every 20 or so minutes I'd argue the replayability value recharges quickly even if it runs out quickly so if you want to maximise fun value for this game I'd play it until I get teacher once or twice then play something like GTNH for 2 hours then return while waiting on something to process, but thats a bit silly. -🌳

Well, Despite Everything...

We're in need of help again.

I hate having to beg for the 2nd month in a row now. We've been pushing ourselves to get any sort of income but despite applying to many places in the area, no one has gotten back to me beyond the first interview I got at the start of the month that made me wait a whole week to reject me. I'm trying to set up going to a disability center for help to just Get A Job at all, and looking into applying for disability benefits (which requires calling, which is hard for me when I'm autistic) and my girlfriend has just secured a job this past weekend, but there's no way we'll be able to deal with rent either way without help unfortunately. We really don't have any fallback this time as far as I'm concerned. It scares me when we still haven't been given the tools to figure things out multiple months into this non-ideal living arrangement.
