Prompt-ary Prompts.

Title: More than Coffee. Day #1 Prompt: "I love you more than coffee, but please don't make me prove it." Who: Ford Ellison & Martina Rostro (both original characters) WIP: Marta and the Diner. Notes: They usually give each other a hard time, so it was fun just to write fluff for them. Triggers: None, this is FLUFF!!

Ford drinks his coffee in an agonizingly slow manner. He’s settled in a booth at the far end of the diner his girlfriend works at and can feel her staring at him from across the room. Part of him wishes she’d just come back and make conversation like she always did when it was just the two of them there. However, he knows she’s had a hard few days, so maybe she’s in need of space? He knows, personally, what it’s like to need space from everyone, so he gives her her space if she needs it.

Thing is, after wiping down some tables in a clockwise fashion and arguing with the jukebox, Martina finally walks over to him with a coffee decanter in hand. She’s not much of a smiler but she gives him a half-smile, pours more coffee in his half-full glass and then pours a cup for herself.

“I love you more than coffee, you know?” she says albeit awkwardly, looking at the steaming cup of coffee before looking at Ford, and then back at the coffee cup, again. “I could prove it.”

He smiles softly at her, even though she’s not looking at him. Then he reaches out, places his hand on hers and says, “I love you more than coffee, but I doubt I could prove it to you other than sharing my coffee. I only ever share it with you.”

She smiles softly at him. “That’s a good enough proof,” she sighs, taking a sip of her dark coffee that she says is that way because that’s how her father used to take it.

“Good, because I couldn’t think of a better way to prove my love.” He nods, squeezing her hand and she squeezes his right back. “More coffee?” she asks him, before leaning in for a kiss.

february 1: they're getting married!

this title is terrible, i wrote this in literally two hours, and i hate every ounce of it. but im using prompt-ary as my reason to start regularly writing again.

here ya go. it's literally just fluff.

prompt: first kiss

Odysseus and Penelope had been talking for a while now. Their two countries, Ithaca and Sparta, were in the middle of discussing allyship and for that reason, they had seen each other a lot over the past few months. Odysseus really liked her, but he couldn’t tell if she felt the same way.

One day, Odysseus walked out to the olive tree, the one his mother where his mother taught him all of the old legends when he was young. He had many fond memories of that place and often went there to clear his head, especially in times like this.

“Hey, you,” Penelope smiled, sitting under the tree. “I had a feeling I’d find you here.”

He had first shown Penelope the olive tree about a month ago, before she returned home until the next peace treaty meeting. Ithaca and Sparta weren’t too far away from each other, so Penelope and her father sailed home every two weeks to visit her mother and make sure everything was running smoothly in the city.

“Hi,” Odysseus grinned as he sat down next to her.

“So I was doing some thinking…”

“You were thinking? I was thinking!” 

“Oh my gods, you were?” Penelope teased. “What were you thinking about?”

“No, you go first.”

“We’ll say it at the same time. Deal?”

Odysseus nodded. He was pretty sure he and Penelope weren’t thinking the same thing, but he wanted to know what she had to say.

“1, 2, 3! We should get married.”

“We should get married,” Odysseus said at the same time.

“Wait, really?” Penelope beamed.

“I mean, yeah! Look, Pen, I think you are the smartest, most beautiful girl I have ever met in my entire life. I would love to spend the rest of my life with you, if you’d let me,” Odysseus rambled.

“I was thinking the same thing! You’re honestly the first prince I’ve met that hasn’t made me want to throw up. And I promise, I mean that in a really good way.”

Taken aback, Odysseus stuttered his way through his response. “Also, I’m just saying, it would be really good for our countries.”

“Yeah, totally, for sure. Especially with Ithaca and Sparta on the path to allyship, our marriage would really just speed it up,” Penelope agreed.

They stared at each other in silence for a moment before Penelope moved. She inched closer, held Odysseus’s face in her hands, and said “Oh, who are we kidding?” before kissing him.

Odysseus felt like the world was ending. The world could have been blown to smithereens and he wouldn’t have noticed. Princess Penelope of Sparta, now his fiancée, was kissing him. He had never kissed anyone before this; he had been waiting for the right person.

The kiss was great, at least by Odysseus’s standards. Granted, he had never kissed anyone before, but from what little he knew, it was awesome. Their lips fit together in a way that made Odysseus feel like they were part of a puzzle. A puzzle made specifically for them.

Unfortunately, they were eventually forced apart to breathe. “Oh my gods, we’re getting married.” 

“Yeah,” Odysseus let out a soft exhale. “We’re getting married.
