I just accidentally snapped one of my favorite charms, that I got a at a convention and is basically impossible to find now (did a good 30 minute search) THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!!! I knew glue wasn’t gonna cut it, and sure what to do about it

How to repair printed acrylic charms

I know from experience that one of the problems with those flat printed acrylic charms, like the ones I ordered, is that they can crack or snap if too much pressure is applied to them. I remember browsing forums and people junking their broken ones because superglue wouldn’t fix them, and that bummed me out because a good fix is easy.

If the charm/keychain is cracked, or if it is snapped but there’s no damage to front printed image laminate (meaning it is still being held together by that film) apply self-sticking laminate or clear packing tape to the unprinted side and then trim it with an exacto knife.

If the charm is snapped in half cleanly, hold it together and apply laminate/clear packing tape to both sides and trim the excess.

If the crack/damage is small enough you shouldn’t have to cover the entire charm, just use a small square.

In all applications make sure you rub out airbubbles so the seal is stronger. Super glue generally won’t work because the stress point is still there.

Anyway, just throwing that out there so people don’t gotta junk their little charms.
