- quality political plotting in a fantasy series that game of thrones wish it had

- a fucking epic and emotionally touching story that makes you laugh, then cry buckets (seriously, prepare the tissues), then laugh again, and that stays true to itself until the very end

- and a ton of canon content to explore after you finish rewatching the whole thing

So Bail, get this, Bail Organa sends some ships to an Imperial-controlled planet. And those ships get stolen by The Rebel Scum. Bail goes 'how dare you let my ships get stolen I demand full compensation' and the Imperial Senate goes 'ohhhHH of course of COURSE we are SO SORRY here are your credits Mr. Senator Organa sir' and Bail, get this, Bail uses those credits to buy MORE ships and send them on Relief Missions to planets Suffering From Rebel Presences and those ships get STOLEN right out from under the Imperials' noses. How could this be??? The INCOMPETENCE. In THEIR GREAT EMPIRE.

And Palpatine, who knows Bail had tea on the weekends with Obi-Wan Kenobi, has seventeen different reports on his desk every week telling him that the Empire is compensating Alderaan for losses sustained on Imperial planets and he's seething as he signs them because he just KNOWS it's never an accident and he's actually funding the Rebellion but he can't do anything about it because Bail, when asked about it, just presses a dramatic hand to his own heart and says, 'why, Emperor, I have NO IDEA how The Rebel Scum keeps acquiring my vessels. Maybe if YOUR security forces were more effective we wouldn't be in such a TRAGIC situation so often. Sign here.'

The Sith would be way funnier if they were Opposite Jedi but like… REALLY and LITERALLY the exact opposite of the Jedi. Not only is sex allowed, celibacy is BANNED. Jedi can’t use the force for personal reasons? Sith use the force to make PB&J sandwiches every lunch break. Jedi can only have one Padawan at a time? Bad news, I’m a fucking Sith and I have a gaggle of ten radical, problematic orphans who are my personal apprentices and they all rock.

Clowns: we didn’t know what to do with Rey’s story so we made her related to someone ! Isn’t that way more interesting ! we just had no clue what story to write.

Fans Like Four Days After TLJ:

The consequences of having Ben tell Hux: “The girl killed Snoke.” Implying she did it alone, and is powerful enough to do such a thing. This sparks conflict and tension between Rey and the Resistance if they learned she worked with Ben, or if they expect her to be more powerful and carry the weight of impossible tasks.

The very drama of Rey having a Force bond to the guy whose working on, and leading the opposition. How do her friends feel ? Do people trust her still ? How is she hiding it ? Is she hiding it ? Is someone going to try and weaponize the bond ? How do you explain to your friends that their arch nemesis isn’t hunting them right now ? Even though apparently he can see and talk to her across great distances.

Rey grappling with her dark side and anger that rightfully comes from having lied to herself for years. Her wanting to ‘let the past all die’ but knowing that Ben’s philosophy is wrong even if it’s appealing.

Rey trying to read the Jedi texts on her own, not really understanding them, and working to realize she needs to create something new because the books aren’t what she needs. She wants to work with Ben, but she also can’t explain to her friends that their greatest nemesis could be her best hope of understanding herself further.

Rey realizing that she and Ben are the only ones strong enough to destroy the final conflict of the series, and that they have to do it together. But the Resistance and First Order dont understand and see both of them as threats.
