We just announced a visiting artist class about Chinese Funerary Vessels. Local legend Aldo Moroni will take students on a tour of the Chinese and South Asian Art galleries at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, followed by a workshop making funerary vessels at the Potekglass workshop in Northeast. Object of the Week: Flight Into Egypt/St. George and the Dragon, Erwin Eisch, Glashutte Valentin Eisch, about 1964. Gift of Erwin Eisch. 64.3.29. 
European Studio Glass movement founder Erwin Eisch was born on this day in 1927. This vase depicting two biblical scenes is representative of the popular pieces Eisch designed for his family’s glassworks.
