I'm a huge fan of Splintered Sunshine 😭 I love how warm and wholesome it is (despite what happened). I was just wondering where you get your ideas/inspiration for the fic from?

Inspiration comes from the show itself, my own experiences with therapy/recovery, and elements drawn from my own original stories! And LIFE! Also, character reaction/motivation tends to be what drives the ideas!

I wanted to challenge myself and explore darker themes, and I’ve never written fanfic before, so two birds one stone! 😁

I knew I wanted to do a story on recovery but I didn’t know how it would be structured. 😅 It wasn’t until around chapter seven I decided to bring in the Healing Hands (S3 E24) and align each mantra with a chakra, with each chakra unblocking representing another step taken in Mikey’s recovery – this not only gave the fic needed direction but also added the warm/escapist tone & fantasy element to help contrast the grim & gritty reality of how hard & messy rehabilitation can be!
