Edit: I'm going to try and post the results in the next few days. Work and college has been kicking my ass. Apologies for the delay!

As the Autobots and Decepticons back away from the battle, the ancient foes face each other. Both Optimus Prime and Megatron use every weapon in their possession. Laser gun and fusion cannon clash again and again. Though both are growing weaker, they continue to fight with skill and cunning.

"They're perfectly matched," says Smokescreen.

"I agree," says Mirage. "In fact, I suspect that the outcome of this fight can be determined only by fate."

Neither side can win this battle, thinks Optimus Prime. I must do something to break the standoff.

At that moment Bumblebee approaches.

"Get back!" cries Optimus Prime. "It's not safe for you here! You're too small!"

"I've found the Sun-Pak!"" Bumblebee says quickly. "It is being charged in the sun right now. But it is surrounded by booby traps!"

"You've done well," says Optimus Prime, "Now get to safety while I decide what to do."

Optimus Prime thinks for a moment. He realizes there are two things he can do to end the standoff.

He can concentrate his full fighting power on Megatron. If he can defeat their leader, the other Decepticons will probably give up.

Or he can forget about trying to defeat the Decepticons. Instead, he can try to capture the Sun-Pak.

Sorry if the last three posts have any spelling errors, I'm typing these by flashlight in the back of a car, in between two very loud cats.

FIRST PREV

Optimus Prime knows it's up to him to break the standoff and face Megatron-- one-on-one. He approaches Megatron. Just as the Decepticon is about to fire, Optimus Prime holds up his hand.

"Halt!" he commands.

"What do you mean, 'halt'?" says Megatron. "We're in the middle of a battle."

"A battle of unnecessary destruction, Megatron," says Optimus Prime. "The casualties are heavy on both sides. Let our forces withdraw!"

"Are you proposing a truce, coward?" sneers Megatron.

"Not at all," says Optimus Prime, "I'm proposing a duel-- between you and me. Whoever wins gets the Sun-Pak-- If you have the guts!"

Megatron thinks for a moment. "Why not?" he says. "There's no way you can beat me, Prime. And when the battle is over, you will finally know who is master! Decepticons, withdraw!"

Optimus Prime nods in agreement. "Autobots, withdraw!"

CYOA ANNOUNCEMENT!

Apologies for the delay on the poll results this weekend, I just started a new job and have been dead on my feet for a few days.

I'm juggling a new job, wrist pain, and stress about having to move apartments and start a new semester of school in three weeks. With so much on my plate, I've decided it's best for me to take a break from the poll series till things have settled into routine again.

Now fear not, I will be returning (hopefully in a month or so). There's still seven more endings I'm so excited to share, and this has been one of the most fun things I've done on here! The interaction with everyone has been so fun!

So yeah, thanks for playing with me, you're all amazing, and I'll see y'all in a month or so! <3

"I'll escort the traitor to headquarters, Mighty Megatron," says Bombshell eagerly. He releases Sparkplug, as Megatron ordered. Then he transforms into his insect form, and he and Starscream leave the museum.

Megatron looks at Sparkplug for an instant--as if he was going to change his mind about keeping his word--but then he turns and goes.

"Over here, Pop!" calls Spike. Still carrying Blaster, he and Sparkplug run from the Air Museum.

Spike and Blaster quickly tell Sparkplug everything.

"But our biggest problem still remains," says Sparkplug sadly. "Megatron knows about the Sun-Pak. He won't rest until he has found its secret."

"Don't worry about that," says Blaster. "Just before I transmitted the tape, I made certain changes to it. I erased all mention of the Sun-Pak."

"But Starscream and Bombshell know about it." says Spike.

"Starscream is no problem. Once he's reprogrammed, he'll be lucky to remember his own name. And as for Bombshell. . .in order to tell Megatron about the Sun-Pak, he would have to admit his part on the treason," says Blaster. "Somehow, I don't think even an Insecticon is stupid enough to do that. Our secret is safe, good friends. It looks like the Insecticon is caught by his own sting!"

The mighty Megatron appears before the terrified Decepticons. "It doesn't matter how I found you," he says, "What matters is that I have found you. And I know what you're up to, traitor!" There is a loud click, and the tape recording begins to play. Starscream's voice is unmistakable:" At long last the Decepticons will obey me as their rightful leader!"

"You don't understand, Megatron," Starscream babbles desperately. "I was only joking. I've never wanted to do anything but serve you. Ask Bombshell! He knows I'm loyal! He's been with me the whole time!"

"It's true that I've been with Starscream, Mighty Megatron," says the Insecticon. "But I have been trying to talk him out of his treasonous plans!"

"Liar!" shouts Starscream. "I'll get you for this , you tin-plated grasshopper!"

"Silence!" thunders Megatron. "I have suspected that you plot behind my back, Starscream. But at last I have proof. That proof is much more important than this miserable human. Release him! And you return to headquarters immediately for reprogramming--or you will feel the the might of the entire Decepticon force!"

"My father's life," says Spike. Quickly he explains that Sparkplug has been captured by Starscream and Bombshell. He doesn't mention the Sun-Pak.

"I might be willing to make such a trade," says Megatron. "But first I must hear the tape. Transmit it to me now. Then we'll talk again."

"No," says Spike. "Order Starscream to release my dad. Then I'll give you the tape."

"How dare you presume to set conditions for Megatron!" thunders the Decepticon. "Transmit the tape now. That's my final offer!"

"All right," says Spike. "Prepare to receive the taped transmission."

Blaster rewinds the tape, then sends it high-speed to Megatron. Now all the human and Autobot can do is wait--and hope.

The minutes tick by. Spike leaves his corner and watches as Bombshell finished preparing his cerebro-shell.

"You have one minute, human,' the evil Insecticon says to Sparkplug. "Give us the secret of the Sun-Pak now--or prepare to become our slave forever!"

"I will never give in!" Sparkplug says bravely. But Spike can see that his father is pale.

"it's too late," Spike whispers to Blaster. "We'll have to--"

But at that moment the deafening roar of jet engines fills the Air Museum and a voice thunders, "Megatron calling Starscream!"

"it's Megatron!" gasps Starscream. "How did he find me?"

"Silence, human!" thunders Megatron. "What do I care about your tape when I can have the secret of the Sun-Pak? Starscream is under my control. Mow leave here immediately, or you will taste the cerebro-shell yourself!"

At that moment there is an agonizing scream from Sparkplug. To his horror, Spike sees that his father has been injected with the cerebro-shell.

"What is your bidding, O Megatron?" asks Sparkplug. "I will do whatever Your Mightiness asks."

Spike starts to run toward his father. But Blaster tells him to stop. "We can't help Sparkplug now. The only thing we can do is take this sad news to Autobot headquarters before the Decepticons get us too."

For the next several weeks the Autobots wait anxiously for the dreaded news that the Decepticons he e the Sun-Pak.

But strangely, that never happens.

It is only much later, on a routine espionage mission, that Mirage discovers the reason. Under the influence of the cerebro-shell, Sparkplug tried to reproduce the Sun-Pak for the Decepticons. But no matter how hard he worked, he couldn't seem to do it. Apparently, the cerebro-shell temporarily damaged part of his memory. The Decepticons were so disgusted, they let him go.

"It wasn't a total loss for the Decepticons, though." a recovered Sparkplug tells the others later. "I did manage to create a new invention for them. It's a portable, laser-operated toothbrush. Too bad the Decepticons don't have teeth!"

"No, we can't go along with Megatron. If we play him the tape now, we'll have nothing else to bargain with," says Spike.

"I'm afraid you're right," says Blaster. "Come, let's return to your father. There may still be time to help him."

Back in the main hall they hear Starscream's evil cackle. "Your time is up, human!" He says to Sparkplug. "Now prepare to receive the cerebro-shell!"

Bombshell approaches Sparkplug slowly. Spike whispers frantically to Blaster, "We've got to do something!"

At that moment the air is split by a scream of jets landing. A few seconds later Megatron, backed up by the Decepticon force, appears in the doorway of the Air Museum.

"Carrying out a private experiment, Starscream?" The towering robot asks.

Starscream is startled, but he recovers quickly. "An experiment to strengthen your power, O mighty Megatron," he says. Starscream explains about the Sun-Pak. "This foolish human will not give us the secret." He finishes. "We were just about to make him more cooperative."

"You had no right to act on your own!" says Megatron. "But the Decepticons must have the Sun-Pak, so proceed. I'll deal with your behavior later!"

"No!" cries Spike from his hiding place. "What about the tape, Megatron? I have evidence--"

Think it over," says Starscream. "Either tell me voluntarily, or we use the cerebro-shell. You can decide while my friend here prepares the cerebro-shell."

"We've got to do something!" says Spike.

"There isn't time to send for the Autobots," says Blaster. "And I'm not sure my electro-scrambler will work on both of them."

"Then let's go get Bumblebee!" says Spike. "He can help."

"Yes, but remember he isn't armed," says Blaster."But I have an idea. I have just recorded Starscream's plans to take over the Decepticons. What if we gave this information to Megatron? Megatron with destroy Starscream for us!"

They decide to contact Megatron. So they sneak over to s deserted corner of the museum. On a few seconds, Blaster has set up a communications link with Decepticon headquarters. Spike's heart is pounding when he asks to speak with Megatron.

After a moment Megatron's voice booms from the speaker. "What do you want with Megatron, human?"

"I want to make a trade with you," says Spike. He tries not to sound nervous.

"A trade? Don't make me laugh!" says Megatron. "What Megatron wants, he takes!"

"Maybe so." says Spike. "But I think you'll be interested in this. What if I told you I have proof that Starscream is a traitor?"

"Impossible!" says Megatron.

"Don't be too sure. I have a tape that proves it!" says Spike. He is feeling more confident every minute.

Megatron doesn't speak again for a moment. "I don't know what kind of human trick this is," he says, "but I might be amused to hear your so-called tape. What do you want in return?"

Starscream ignores Bombshell. "Is this insect annoying you, Masters?" he asks. "If so, I could swat if for you."

"That won't be necessary," says Blaster. "Just let us have the human."

"With pleasure," says Starscream. Gently, he brushes dust off of Sparkplug's jacket. "Go with your friends now," he says, "I'm terribly sorry if I caused you any inconvenience."

Spike, Sparkplug, Blaster, and Bumblebee roar off towards Autobot headquarters. They're safe and so is the plan for the Sun-Pak. As they speed away they hear angry screams coming from the museum. No matter what Bombshell tries to tell him, Starscream insists that he works for the Autobots!

Bombshell's furious screams can be head for miles, filling the air with deafening anger. But for the four friends, it's music to their ears!

Instantly Blaster fires his scrambler at Starscream. The Decepticon cries out in pain, "My circuits! My circuits!"

At the same time Bumblebee crashes through the door. "Hold on Sparkplug!" He calls. There is a jolting crash just as Bombshell fires.

As Bumblebee hoped, the Insecticon's probe has missed its target.

Instead of shooting Sparkplug, Bombshell has shot Starscream!

And now the evil Decepticon looks around in confusion. "Where am I?" he asks, "Who are you people?"

Instantly Blaster realizes that Starscream's mind has been scrambled by the cerebro-shell. "We are your masters, Starscream, don't you remember? You made a mistake. You brought Sparkplug here without our permission. Now it's time that you returned him to us."

"Oh no!" says Starscream, "I'm terribly sorry! How could I have done such a thing?"

"Starscream, you idiot!" cries Bombshell. "They are lying! The human belongs to us!"

Quickly Blaster and Spike leave the museum and explain the situation to Bumblebee.

"There's no time to send for help," Spike finishes. "We've got to stop Bombshell before he uses his cerebro-shell on my dad!"

"It's a desperate situation," says Blaster. "I can use my electro-scrambler gun. But. I don't think it's powerful enough to stop both Starscream and Bombshell."

"I have an idea," says Bumblebee. "Turn your scrambler on Starscream. That should confuse him. Then I'll ram into Bombshell as he fires. That may make him miss. Then, if we move quickly, we can grab Sparkplug and make a run for it."

All three know this is a desperate chance, but there seems to be no choice. Bumblebee positions himself right outside the door to the museum. Spike and Blaster go inside.

Back inside the museum, Bombshell is taking aim. "Foolish human," says the Insecticon. "Now you will be in our power forever!"

Sparkplug is trembling but he does not say a word.

Bombshell aims and prepares to fire.

"Now!" cries Spike.
