This game, they said, had allowed the universe to end and had ultimately led to the downfall of the Empress, forcing the current ruler to abdicate. These children sought out the twelve eldest trolls on the planet, asserting that they wanted to shape a better future for Alternia. Initially, the twelve trolls were compelled to participate in the humans' plans, but they grew wary and resentful of these alien intruders who believed changing their society would be simple.

Each member now reigns over their respective caste, governing in their unique ways. Politics, war, and relationships became their tools, and anything could happen to them and their followers as they navigated this new era of Alternian society.
