DEFINITELY SOMETHING SCENIC – he took a photo at the beach during sunrise once and thought it looked absolutely beautiful so he made it his lockscreen ( ngl it was him and avery for a very long time , and it was only changed about 4ish years ago )

OPENING – basically the default ringtone on an iphone because he’s basic and lazy and doesn’t wanna bother finding a different ringtone .

SLEEP CYCLE – he loves to track his sleep cycle and it helps him make sure that he doesn’t wake up too tired .  but also he loves the basic apps like mail and music and notes app that just generally help him live his life .

MAIL APP – yeah , that’s kind of self explanatory .

01 pockets & 15 bookcase

JET ROTHSCHILD /

pockets :  keys , wallet , vape , gum/mints , and a pen .  usually there’s a stray guitar pick and some cash .

bookcase :  jet’s not much of a reader , but she’s got a couple random classics on there like the outsiders , fahrenheit 451 , tale of two cities , and the road ( all from high school english ) and then there’s a bunch of production equipment manuals , biographies of music artists like bon jovi , amy winehouse , etc.  along with books , jet uses her bookcase to store random toys and trinkets she’s acquired over the years .  basically her bookcase is incredibly full of stuff , most of which she doesn’t use anymore .

T.C. CHILDS /

pockets :  keys , wallet , some type of candy ( because working with kids made this a habit ) , and usually a couple of those little alcohol wipes .  he’s a little bit of a germaphobe .

bookcase :  probably a ton of medicine related books , a couple of random novels here and there ( he most likely doesn’t know what their titles were so i don’t either haha ) .  there’s definitely framed photos of him and his family , him and avery , etc.  probably a fake plant or two , no real plants because no way he could take care of those .

“Jesus, there’s really no bloody signal signal here is there?” The question wasn’t posted to anyone in particular as he glanced down at his mobile, camera slung across his shoulder. He didn’t need it but he preferred to upload his photos as he went, having had plenty of near-misses. It was still early in the day, the sun had just come up and he’d collected his gear from the car after his morning run. “Best network my arse.” He mumbled, once again, not to anyone around him which was, thankfully, few due to the hour anyway. 

          ❝  OH , UH ,  honestly it’s probably not completely your network’s fault .  ❞   t.c. wasn’t sure what compelled him to respond to the other but he did .  it was one of those rare mornings where he had the day off but still bothered to leave his house early enough to catch the sunrise .  instead of a run , he’d decided on a nice stroll .  work had been a bit stressful lately , so it helped to have some time to unwind and just think in the quiet .  but he’d noticed the other and – interest piqued by the accent – he’d approached .  ❝  certain spots in town are just spotty for some reason .  weird how the phone companies think this is some remote area , but i s’pose it does let us keep that small town feeling . ❞   he shrugged.   ❝  half a mile down that way , i’m sure it’ll start working properly .  probably .  ❞

she sighed, preparing herself like the host of a tv show about to tell a fable. “i was excommunicated. i didn’t represent the family brand.” she wasn’t apart of the family, but she could see this much being true. “i fell in love with daniel kellogg and was kicked out of the family. yes, like romeo and juliet. will you be the one to help me regain my rightful place on the throne?” 

          THE LAUGH ESCAPES HER before she can stop herself .   ❝  excommunicated ?  wasn’t aware fruit snacks made up a religion , but alright . ❞   for a few moments , she couldn’t muster much beyond a raised brow at the girl’s story .  but she realized she should probably reply to the offer instead of silently standing there like an idiot . ❝  i see . . .  well , i’ve got nothing to do for the next week so why the hell not , i guess .  a couple questions first – one , will i receive free fruit snacks for my cooperation ?  and two , does the success of this mission affect my share of fruit snacks ?  just so i can conduct a proper mental cost-benefit analysis .  ❞

“ oh okay , so it was with kind intentions , ” rosie reasons , like that excuses getting poked with a cane completely . it’s not always in the brunette’s nature to mother others when she can barely take care of herself , but her caring side kicks into high gear when she hears about people , especially her best friend , getting hurt . “ good , ” she nods to settle matters , and slight arches in her brows to silently challenge jet to dare and put herself in harm’s way again . a quick thank you to the waiter for an ice-filled ziploc bag , she wraps a napkin around it before handing it across to jet . “ no , it’s okay . you know i don’t mind waiting , ” she waves the apology off literally with her hand before diving into the fries she ordered for the table ahead of time while she was waiting . “ how’s the track sound ? is it gonna be the next number one ? ” she says with wiggling eyebrows , sounding like she’s speaking in jest though she’s wholly sincere in her support and belief in the other .

          ❝  . . . NAH .  honestly she probably just wanted me out of the way .  no one likes a hooligan roadblock , you know .  ❞   jet shoots rosie a pointed look , though the corner of her lips turn up a bit to show she’s joking .  she’d never been the one to take matters seriously , especially not a bruised body part , but rosie’d never been like that with her .  she’d always cared about jet , even when jet outright refused to care about herself .  and while she huffs and puffs in annoyance , it all comes with a lot of love , and mostly just because she can’t go completely soft around the other .  she’s got a reputation to uphold after all .   ❝  yeah , i know .  but i don’t like making you wait .  ❞   she shrugged .   ❝  so . . .  sorry for that .  ❞   once rosie asks about her music , jet’s eyes immediately light up , and she moves to sit up excitedly , wincing at the rush of pain from her leg .  she stares at the stupid injury with a grimace , before returning her gaze to rosie .   ❝  i don’t know about number one , but it’s good .  great , honestly .  i know i say this a lot but i’ve got a really good feeling about this one .  ❞

“Uh,” Who didn’t love existentialism with their cold brew, right? Quinn had never taken physics, or astronomy, or anything like that. They were very much a “I’m going to take enough science to graduate and that’s it because fuck math.” sort of student in their day. But they were nerd adjacent, at least, so aliens were…slightly less mind melting than anything ese she could have brought up. “I think, if the universe is constantly, like, expanding and all, it’s possible, but I think we wouldn’t know because, like, I heard that if you’re far enough away from earth and have the tech to see it, you could still see dinosaurs right now, so. Maybe we’d only see dinosaurs in that galaxy too?”

  ��       JET’S PONDERING THEIR STATEMENT , going so far as to lean forward on the counter , tapping her chin .   ❝  wow . . .  i will admit you make an interesting point .  ❞   did she know anything about science ?  not really .  in fact , she’s pretty sure she cheated her way to a b in physics and chemistry and got lucky with a b-plus in biology .  but whatever they’d said sounded about right .  at least from her own experiences with the rabbit hole of universe conspiracy theories .  ❝  i’d love to see a dinosaur .  obviously , it wouldn’t be the same as , like , getting to see one all up close and personal , but that’d be wild .  even through a telescope .   just seeing pterodactyls flying around and shit .  that’s dope as hell .  ❞   with a nudge to her back , she suddenly remembers her purpose at the register .   ❝  anyway , what can i get ya ?  and for being a good sport with the whole space thing , i’ll even throw in a free pastry . ❞   another nudge . ‘ you can’t do that ’ .   ❝  heh .  nevermind .  they said i can’t do that . ❞
