I feel like I’ve been saying this for months. It’s not just that Jimin was denied normal opportunities (like a third music video, or having a song serviced to radio). It’s not just that it’s “unfair.” It’s that his label is actively working against him.

They actively sent bad metadata to Spotify to split streams.

They actively deleted Youtube views.

They actively chose not to ship albums.

This can’t be proven beyond the shadow of a doubt, but there is so much circumstantial and anecdotal evidence online to suggest this. 

To his label — it doesn’t matter if Jimin is talented, it doesn’t matter if he’s hard-working, it doesn’t matter if he puts his heart and soul into his work. To his fans, this matters — but to his label, it really doesn’t matter.

I really hope people stop mass-buying things. Data storage is not free, data transfer is not free, it does have an environmental impact, and we all live on this Earth. I’m not saying everyone should live like Luddites, I’d be a huge hypocrite, but it really pains me when I see stuff like this being used for a dick-measuring contest. I hope people stop lining the pockets of people they don’t even know or like, because most of their money isn’t even going to the person they’re spending it for.

Anyway, I hope everyone is having a great day, and that we can all do little things in our immediate world to make it a better or more just place.
