Apparently the players are in the under dark and I'm playing all the NPCs and creatures that the DM is throwing at them.
So what do you do as they spend an hour talking to each other to make a plan... Draw a plant monster.
His name is Frank

Apparently I have become a co-DM where I get thrown all the NPCs where I get next to no warning and a paragraph about who they are and their aim.
Means I get to draw while the players are carrying havoc, occasionally voicing demonic voices in their heads, and get to pay D&D without having to keep track of what's going on. My friend gets someone whose happy to voice everything and anyone including tree sisters singing people to their doom, and frees him up to focus on the players.
So here's a tree sister sketch I did in 10 minutes before they were off chasing yellow flowers and mushrooms in the under dark.

Have a weekly d&d session but weeks when people are missing, and rather than cancelling we run one shots or even just a chat and draw session. Here's my cute little cat from last night. Actually proud of him and found some new brushes that I want to explore some more!

My character in a friend's campaign was deaged by 12 years the other week. She was 14 and has chaotic dream magic so you can imagine the chaos that this caused. It was a Jack Jack situation where she started playing on the ceiling or turning into a bear.
As the only parent in the group, it was pretty hilarious seeing them all try to parent this rogue magical toddler...
Anyway, here's a baby oc art work 😅
They aren't aware of her back story or what is going on, just that she's pure chaotic magic and that's always been the case.

Started the Dungeons and Drag Queen series on @dimension20official! Obsessed with Bob the adrag Queen's outfit!
Finally back to drawing that is not for work. It's been a really different style but I think it's helped my personal drawings. Hopefully I can draw more stuff now that I actually want to draw!

Currently playing in my friends campaign and we worked on a character set up based on being able to pop in and out of existence due to me having kids.
My character is a dreamwalker class with the following traits:
- she can pop in and out of existence for no reason.
- She can only teleport within 15ft of two players who have an item on them.
- the players were not and still not aware why she can teleport to them yet and it's making a fun d&d roleplay mechanism for why she's constantly popping up.
- she has two HP's, her dream hp which is just a little lower to the other players. It takes all damage except phyc. Her second HP is her real body hp which is very low and only impacted by phyc damage. When her dream hp is gone, she'll pop out of existence and will not be able to pop back for a set amount of time set out by the DM (we have it this way so if I suddenly have a kid based emergency I can accidentally get squished by some thing and then instantly pop back vs also having some risk in terms of time my character would be able to come back. She's waking up so this could be a dice roll to whether she instantly falls back to sleep or if she can't get back to sleep.
- Any revive spells will effect her real body. Healing will only effect her dream body so if she takes phyc damage, she needs to wake up for a long period to reset it.
- as she's making a dream self appear, she feels no pain so walks into stupid situations. She also believes it is a dream but if things go really sour that it's a nightmare and either will pop out of existence or start to take phyc damage. My character is a kid who believes everyone is just in her dream so she just pops out of existence thinking the other characters will just be fine, when she works out they are real but just in another plane, she's going to probably start sticking around.
- because she's dreaming, she can't take items with her when she pops out of existence. It will just fall to the floor. Means the players can game break by having her carry things.
- when she appears she can appear wearing whatever she wants so I will often have her appear in an array of crazy hairstyles and hats. None of it has magic capability. It also means she can shapeshift but she doesn't get changes to her stats. As she's dreaming, she can fly or float but it has to make sense or she'll feel gravity. Means when she appears sometimes she'll appear sat upside down on the ceiling or stood on a wall and fall when seen as she realises gravity.
- she can't feel pain but it also means when she takes damage she bleeds ice cream or rose petals and other werid things. Makes it fun for the DM to mess with their minds but also have a character who appears to have no physical pain but is very emotionally vulnerable.
- she can't upgrade her weaponry or skills unless levelling up because she can't carry anything with her and it's her own dreaming capacity. If other dream based things give her things but this is very rare.
- as she believes that the other players are just in her dream, she keeps going "ohhhhh You're aunt Sally... I can tell because of the big noise" or "you totally must be my mum, I love you!"
We went through a lot of ideas to why she could be dreaming and how this came about and I won't share my character but you could have lots of fun.
Love it though because I can pop in and out instantly with kids, it doesn't break the game and causes a lot of roleplay with the other characters.
If you have a parent who has kids so has to flit in and out of sessions, I definitely recommend a dreamwalker character.

Ready for a crazy moment that can cause lots of fun roleplay and moments to your d&d sessions - introduce a hag selling ice cream.
If your player tries to eat the ice cream
You come across a hag standing behind a white cart on wheels, complete with a blue umbrella. It appears that she's chained up to the cart with a sign that states "community and rehabilitation service"
On closer inspection you see she's selling white creamy stuff in a cone with each one costing 1 good piece.
If a player chooses to eat the ice cream
It tastes werid and sticky giving you a sharp sensation across your head that for a moment you have to close your eyes only to see in front of you a huge hill giant.
Wait for them to respond and then have the hill giant try to boop them on the head. When they do the player will get healed a set amount of hp depending on the level your players are.
It will be fun seeing them try to flee and respond but to everyone else they will just see their friend freak out for a moment, try to converse or hit something that no one else can see before suddenly feeling a lot better.
It is very funny when players won't trust it and offer it to people they are trying to sway without trying it first, as they will likely react to seeing a huge hill giant.
The ice cream melts but also is limited in number so your players can't break the system even with a bag of colding.
The Hill Giant is really friendly and will hang around for 10 minutes too resulting in hilarious moments. He's not an invisible creature but more how the magic has made your brain make it appear.
It causes a lot of havoc and I highly recommend for homebrew happy games!

Fun d&d puzzle room
They will walk into an overly bright lit room announce "you walk into the room and find yourself in a 10 by 10 room, all the walls are blank except for the back wall where you see this engraved on the back wall" show them an image of 7O+41n35
It is a really simple code breaker of a equals 1 but the capital O looks close to a zero that it might throw them.
If you want to make it easier they can find on investigation j10 (j equals 10)
It translates to "Go and dance" (or go+dance)
Another change is that as they enter they quickly realise that they are alone in the room with one part of the clue and another team have the j10 but can't communicate in some way.
Add to the difficulty by adding that each time you describe the room you described it one size smaller "the 9 by 9 room is still white" "you find nothing else in the 8 by 8 room" etc
How did I come up with this... I didn't but my minis did as they played with fridge magnets. My puzzle loving wizard was dancing away almost instantly but it stumped my two other players as they tried to solve a maths equation.
Sometimes the simplest puzzle is best!

This took less than 10 minutes surprisingly and without any reference image in mind. Slowly getting better and hopefully all this practice means I'll be able to get some cool stuff
