Oh, I hadn’t even thought about satellites! 🤔 The mental image of a bunch of buoys bobbing around the edges of a planet’s rings is a fun one!

For lighthouses, would they be like huge magical signal towers? Beaming warnings via magic out into space, kind of like a giant sending spell?

Or would they be literal giant lighthouses, like a tower built to the edge of a planet’s atmosphere? Give it a giant, everlasting light spell, and hope that it isn’t confused with a star?

I made a second Wild Hearts piece. I think I'm just going to start banking artwork digitally that'll make nice handmade prints later; putting down lines is the hardest part anyway. Kind of waiting a little to see what the world looks like in February.

"Wild Hearts" - Continuing to think in linocut terms and imagining if I had access to silver and gold inks as well. Things like this would have to be REAL big. I find carving relaxing when all the artistic decisions are already made. I wonder if the local arts place would ever have a printmaking class that could walk me through their presses or printing technique...I can carve the blocks themselves just fine.

"Lord of Plains" - faux woodblock/linocut style art of a heavily stylized Przewalski's horse. The Przewalski's horse is the nearest living relative to the modern horse and strongly resembles what ancestral horses likely looked like. Intended as part of a series with the Lord of Meadows piece.

♪ It's time for Fish Mollusc Fact Friday♪

Nautiluses are living fossils which have remained relatively unchanged for over 500 million years! They have multiple tentacles and unique chambered shells which they can completely withdraw into - the opening of the shells can even be covered with their hood, which is made up of two modified tentacles!

There are currently 9 living species of nautilus, and the species depicted here is the Palau Nautilus! (On a side note, there is also a species of octopus called the Paper Nautilus, despite not actually being a nautilus🐙)
