Was just thinking about how people treated Liam's IED and, for good reason, got pretty mad...

Scott: he wasn't mean but didn't help either, mostly because I think he didn't know what to do. But he's supposed to be his alpha, he's supposed to be the one Liam turns to.

Stiles: he made fun of him, but because "he's Stiles", "it's his humour" people (the pack, Scott) look past it.

Hayden: she held a grudge against him for years, from something he did accidentally - she also retaliated and hit him back, so being "vengeful" makes no sense. Get over yourself.

Brett: he straight up bullied him. I'm not going to get into this, because I'd go on about it for hours - but, long story short, Brett acted the worst towards it and showed no remorse.

Nolan and Gabe: they targeted Liam because he was supernatural, but also probably because they knew about his IED - so they assumed he'd be easier to make "shift" than targeting Corey (even though they literally saw Corey turn back from being invisible in front of them).

Theo: although he definitely didn't filter himself at times, he was the most calming and patient with Liam. Also, acting like Liam's IED wasn't a problem. And he prevented Liam from doing things he knew he'd end up regretting.

Oblivious this is just from what we saw, but I doubt things fall astray from any of them from what wasn't shown.

So, in conclusion, ship Thiam because no one cared about Liam like Theo did/does.

Seungyeon: “Hey babe, is this person bothering you?” She would stand back and observe at first, making sure she didn’t misunderstand anything, before stepping forward and taking your hand, giving the person flirting with you a hard stare as she made it clear that you were taken.

Seunghee: “Hm, oh yeah, I’m fine.” She wouldn’t be happy about it, but she wouldn’t want to make a scene either, so she would be conflicted about what to do. After a little watching, she would decide to interfere, giving the person a tight smile and an excuse as she pulled you away.

Yujin: “Is this what I think it is?” She wouldn’t notice it at first, but when she realized what was going on, she would become uncomfortable and grab your hand, trusting enough of you to not really be jealous but annoyed that the person would flirt with you right in front of you.

Sorn: “Hey, babe, who are you talking to?” She would notice it right away and not be happy about it, but she also wouldn’t want to be mean, so she would approach with an innocent face, openly calling you her partner and smiling when the person stuttered out an apology and left.

Yeeun: “We should go.” She would at first just watch, upset but too nervous to confront the person talking to you until they put a hand on your shoulder. After she saw that, she would quickly step in, not speaking to them but pushing their hand off and wrapping her arm around you to pull you away.

Elkie: “Sorry, they’re taken. Please back off.” She wouldn’t hesitate to step in and calmly state that she was your girlfriend, wrapping an arm around your waist and tugging you closer as she asked the person to step back in her kindest voice as to make herself clear, but not cause a fight.

Eunbin: “Hey, are you ready to leave?” She would be conflicted, wondering if she was even reading the situation right and not wanting to jump in if it was something you could handle. But soon she wouldn’t be able to watch it anymore, and would ask you in a soft voice to leave with her.

Respect Bakudeku Fic Writers

So I’ve seen a couple of posts demanding that bkdk fic writers put Katsuki apologising to Izuku in their fics, otherwise their fics aren’t valid, or something along those lines. And I gotta say, I’m ashamed that these kinds of posts exist in the bkdk fandom.

Now you see, the thing is that I know where all this is coming from. I mean, of course we all want Deku and Kacchan to reconcile and we want Kacchan to feel sorry about what he did to Deku in their younger years and maybe apologise. But these kinda posts have only started appearing after we’ve been under attack by the antis (well, more than usual). Antis who say “bkdk shippers ship bkdk because it’s a toxic, abusive relationship and they get off on stuff like that and they want Deku to date Kacchan no questions asked, without an apology”, and things like that. And of course we want to show that that’s not the case, that we ship Bakudeku when both characters have grown and developed, together and apart, and when Kacchan has regretted his actions from when he was younger and Deku has forgiven him.

But we don’t need to prove anything to the antis. It’s our ship, we can choose to ship it in any way we want. It’s fictional, so even if sometimes it’s depicted unhealthily, it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t reflect on the shipper’s own mentality. All ships are depicted unhealthily at some point because it can be interesting to write/draw. It’s not your place to tell people how to write their ship.

There may be a number of reasons why someone may not include Kacchan’s apology in a fic. Maybe an apology wouldn’t work in the context of the fic. Maybe the two are at an impasse in terms of apologising. Maybe the writer doesn’t see verbal apologies as Kacchan’s kinda thing (that’s my take on it, Kacchan’s the type to show that he regrets what he did and that he respects Deku now in the form of his actions, he’d show that he sees Deku as an equal, that’d be his type of an apology, and I’m perfectly fine with that tbh, Deku would understand immediately I bet, and that’s what really matters). Maybe they just want to write pure humour or fluff and make it like a romcom! Just let people write the ship any way they want, it’s their fic, their interpretation, their enjoyment of the characters’ relationship.

Even if you’re a fellow bkdk shipper, you have no right to demand for people to include an apology in their fic, because it’s their fic! Let people depict the progression of their relationship the way they want, and learn that people have different interpretations of the characters, how Katsuki would show that he’s sorry, how Izuku would forgive him, etc. People have different ways of showing they regret something. People have different capacities to forgive. No one has any right to dictate how people write this relationship and its progression, and whether they write an apology or not is their choice, it’s their fic! If you want to see an apology in a bkdk fic, then there are plenty of fics like that out there. Don’t demand for every fic to have it, because (a) you don’t have the right to demand anything, it’s their fic and (b) there are various reasons why a verbal apology wouldn’t work in every bkdk fic.

Tl;dr:

1) Don’t demand for a bkdk apology scene in fics.

2) I understand that the antis think we let Katsuki off the hook too easily, but we don’t need to prove anything to them, so there’s no reason to bully the rest of the bkdk fandom into catering to the antis and shipping our ship their way.

3) People ship the same ship in different ways, and that’s their right, cuz we all ship for fun. The more interesting the dynamic, the better. It doesn’t need to be clear-cut and moral and perfectly healthy and straightforward. Bakudeku can be shipped and depicted in so many different, equally interesting ways, so let people write it how they want.

4) Writers have their their reasons for not including a verbal apology, like how it may not work in the context of the fic or with Katsuki’s canon personality, since he may favour a non-verbal way of showing he’s sorry.

5) There are plenty of good apology fics out there so just read those instead of invalidating other people’s writing by telling them their fics aren’t good enough, just cuz they don’t include an apology scene.

6) Basically respect fic writers and let them depict the bkdk relationship progression how they want to, because it’s their fic and no one has any right to demand things from them (don’t be entitled readers, people).

Respect fic writers and let them weave their stories the way they want to. I guarantee it’ll turn out much better that way than if they cater to demands from their fans which probably won’t fit in the story they want to tell. Please read the fics you want to read, and let authors write the fics they want to write.
