 Shikadai sat there, hand upon his cheek as he listened. Those dark green eyes narrowed upon his father’s commentary on his games. A scowl then formed on his round face. So his old man can trash talk his games, huh? He knew his old man wasn’t one for modern technological games. A bored sigh left the boy’s lips as he arched a dark feminine brow towards his father. 

 It was like sitting in class receiving a lecture. He felt his eyes widening at the concept of the game being explained. He’d already heard this three time! Anymore talking about it and his eyes would pop out from over indulging in knowledge. 

  ❝ That was a waste of an explanation. I know,     you told me three times already. Wouldn’t it be     better if this Shogi game were a cartridge for my    console? I don’t really feel like sitting outside all    day where it’s hot playing this game. No offense.  ❞

Half her attitude was right. It was the bad half Temari was pretty gentle and loving but get her angry or say something stupid, she’ll begin to have a nasty attitude followed with some denial when proven wrong. At least his son was as lazy as Shikamaru. Explaining the rules? What a drag, this would be the 3rd time. 

“Yeah Yeah. I figured you’d have learned by now. Those video games don’t tell you the rules yet you pick them up.” Video games weren’t really something Shikamaru cared for all that much. It did have promise though, aiding hand to eye coordination and develop some strategy in thos with less than average. 

“Look,” he began to explain the rules in a lazy and simple tone to maybe aid in the learning. The first explanation he went overboard with all the rules and loopholes which probably confused Shikadai, the second was just a mumbled mess, and now hopefully it would make sense. 

“Get it?” If not, he might have to go to the technology research facility and ask them to make a video game for it, that might help the kid out.

   A small sweat bead rolled down the side of his round face. Should he even ask? Feminine brows furrowed slightly as the boy pondered on his thoughts for a few minutes. With anyone else, he was blunt & went straight to the point. If he was like that with his mom, well, he’d be hearing it from her. So, the young Nara exhaled a sigh, then asked as he rubbed the             back of his neck. It was worth a try.

Stuffing his hands in his pockets & raising a thin brow, Shikadai merely exhaled a sigh through his nose. Time. Time he could be taking a nap right now. It was out of his hands now, oh well. He might not seem it, but he was glad to spend time with his granddad. He’s heard so much about him yet has’t seen him until now. Hearing the old man’s last statement, a small smirk showed on his face making those dark green eyes gleam with a certain lazy amusement,

                          ❝ Training huh? Ah, that means running                            around and thinking. How bothersome.                             I can’t refuse you since you’re family,                             Aunt Ino is a different story. I guess I                             could train with you, just don’t make                                       it too tedious for me.  ❞

“There is time to spare.” The elder Nara took a seat; with his experience he was more than certain his grandson hadn’t done some sort of request or at the very least acknowledged it. Some things never change, “Your mother’s eyes, your father’s looks and certainly many other fine traits.”  Had to admit he was very fortunate to have the  opportunity of even getting to know his grandson His former comrade had sacrificed his own life to make certain he even made it back to his family those years ago. He had more physical limitations sure but that was a small price to pay in exchange for coming this far.  “I was actually here to find you to be honest. There is something I wanted to ask if you would be interested in and this is the ideal opportunity to see how your  skills will flourish, how about some small training sessions with your granddad? It’ll be worth it I promise.”

 The boy debated on going over to hug her, but it’d take a lot to just walk over there. It was kind of a long way from the door way to the living room. Should he? If he didn’t want to get nagged at, he had no choice. With a sigh, Shikadai went over to huge his grandma. When hearing the news, a small scowl appeared on his round face. Dark green eyes squinting with dissatisfaction. 

                        ❝ Why didn’t they want me to go with them?                             I’ve never been to Suna but I’ve heard there’s                                    a lot of sand from Uncle Gaara.  ❞
